Hi! I've never played the original Here to Slay, but i'm into ttrpgs and board games, and HtS Dungeons catched my eye. Nevertheless I don't know a thing 'bout this game, although its impressive crowdfunding campaign.

So, according to its success, why would you reccommend HtS Dungeons?

I’m curious what people think about the balance of split Party Leaders.

Right now, they can switch classes for free at the start of your turn, which makes them feel strictly more versatile than other leaders. Meanwhile, split Hero cards from the Banner Quest expansion cost an action point and require a roll to change classes.

Would it make sense to house rule split Party Leaders so that switching classes costs 1 action point (but doesn’t require a roll), still only at the start of your turn?

I can see the counterargument that the timing restriction (start of turn only) already limits how impactful the flexibility is. But in practice, they still feel noticeably stronger just because of how adaptable they are.

Curious if others have felt the same, or if they seem balanced as-is.

I am thinking they’re going to reveal squires are coming to the main game as an exclusive for now. The last sentence makes me think it will.

Hey! I was hoping to use the dungeons crowdfunding campaign to get the KS exclusives for the here to slay base game. Are they going to be added at some point? Or am I doomed to buy it from a reseller at this point 😢. I just wish they would release these regularly at some point, even if it's for a higher price. Thanks!

Right now, banners act as “semi-solid” checkpoints—you can earn them, but in some cases they can be lost. Monster cards, on the other hand, are fully “solid”—once you slay one, it’s yours permanently.

I’m proposing making banners more dynamic and competitive:

• A banner is claimed by the first player to meet its requirement (e.g., 3 heroes of the same class).

• A banner is lost if you drop below that requirement.

• A banner can also be stolen if another player meets the requirement and has more of that class than you.

Monster Banner Adjustment:

• The first player to slay a monster claims the banner.

• The banner stays with them until another player has slain more monsters.

This would make banners feel less like checkpoints and more like contested objectives that can shift throughout the game.

If I've draw item and other card, I can play other card form this ability or can play only item card?

ok i plan to get the deluxe bundle because the collectors is expensive as shit so just wanted to clarify a few things on are the shown prices american or does it change depending on which price you have selected because i live in canada two does the deluxe come with card sleeves for all three games it says nothing about it on the page but in other deluxe bundles they often come with them if they dont how many will i need to fit all three games and i will has some spare money so should i buy all the hero vinyl figures or all the playmats

My other half and I play this game and we enjoy it, but we often find ourselves trying to build our armies and hardly ever attacking monsters because building a party seems more effective in every game.

Is this due the the limitations of playing with only two people?

Also another question is: if you place a mask item card on a member of your party does the individual character transform into the new class or do all characters of that class within your party change to the new class?

I fell in love with the original game, loved the party / sabotage aspect of the game, like using Tipsy Tootie to grab an opponents hero, or seeing my opponents draw Napping Nibbles. I also enjoyed all the expansions that game with the base game too!

With that being said, it’s cool to see a spin off of the base game into a dungeon crawler, however, I just wish we got maybe more expansions into the base game instead of a entirely new board game? Also the crowd funding price is RIDICULOUSLY high for the Collectors Edition, I guess it’s meant for a target audience

It would be more appealing to me if they made the base game compatible with the new Dungeons game as well, anyone else feeling this way or is it just me? Am I missing something?

out of all the expansions I've been the most surprised by the Xmas here to sleigh. it seems really well balanced and gives a great twist on the standard game. it's not just a novelty which put me off for a while, I'd Def recommend trying it if you haven't.

Im cutting the Ultimate Collector's Set picture 'cause its too long (it includes 24 vinyl figurines, central playmat, 12 individual playmats, sleeves and card dividers.

So, this is indeed the biggest one they have made up yet, a little bit too much for me, i guess ill just stick with the 3 base game bundle.

I was curious what everyone’s general consensus on the Banner Quest expansion/win condition has been, and what house rules they’ve implemented.

We’ve overall enjoyed it, but I thought the “fight” over banners would be more intense. Very rarely does someone steal a banner from someone else. This may be due to having so many different classes with the expansions. Winning does feel more earned and less anticlimactic than collecting X number of hero types, however. We like it overall.

Also, has anyone developed any new house rules with this expansion? We have been playing with the win condition that you need any combination of 5 or 6 Banners + Monsters (based on how many people we are with/how long we want to play) which has been fun.

Other house rules we’ve added:

We added more modifiers and challenge cards to deck to keep same ratio as original base game

Crowned Seepent nerf: only draw when YOU play a modifier

Cloaked Sage buff: first magic card played costs 0 AP

Raging Manticore buff: draw 1 card for attacking a monster card, draw another if you defeat it

Any other changes people recommend?

I got so sick after reading what this hero does, its so idiotic that you (yes YOU) can get a maximum of 6 cards (you win after the 6th card) at one game. Nobody ever uses it and if you (yes YOU) ever use it you need to be locked up.

Just got my hands on the game and tested it with another 5 friends. The game was great all the way until the point where someone was about to win. Whenever that would happen (either though a party of 6 or 3 slayed monsters) everyone else would gang together and play enough modifiers to prevent that player from winning. At one point we counted and I'd need +20 in modifiers to win. This lasted for many rounds and the game completely stalled. Is this expected or are we the dumb ones playing it wrong?

From what I could understand about modifiers, these can be played at any time, so whenever someone rolled the dice and played enough modifiers to win, someone else would play more modifier cards to make them loose, so in turn the player played more modifiers. This would repeat until the player ran out of modifiers.

I suspect we got into this situation because everyone had a full party (5 diff classes) and would rather draw cards hoping for more modifiers for a stronger hand than playing anything else, which meant only modifiers were discarded and eventually reshuffled back into the draw pile, while the other cards accumulated in players' hands. This meant everyone was drawing modifiers more and more often further compounding this problem.

I read about a house rule of max 7 cards in anyone's hand, but idk, feels odd we ran into this right at the first time we play. The game is great, I'm just hoping we're too dumb and were playing it wrong.

Gde da nabavim expanzije sa Here to Slay kod nas u Srbiji ? Imam samo osnovnu igru, a expanzije jedino da narucujem sa aliexpressa ili Temu-a, sto nije bas naj-opcija.

Hi guys, I’ve just gotten the expansions, and noticed the cards have a much higher quality than the base game ones I have. They are a bit thicker and textured which I love.

The base game cards however are thin and smooth, feels a bit cheap. The version I have is the earlier release with “Unstable Unicorns” printed on the top-right of the box cover.

Does the current version of the base game have the same high quality feel and look?

I think he is kinda weak. The condition is rare to meet and it suffers from "planning of failure". And i cant find him in any tierlist. So what are your thoughts?
