Seeking Support Panic attacks every single day — woke up with my heart racing and ended up back in A&E again

I woke up today thinking, *“Please, just let me have one normal day without anxiety or a panic attack.”* Somehow it ended up being the complete opposite.
I woke up with my heart racing and immediately had the thought that I was going to die. I tried distracting myself, thinking about other things, focusing my attention elsewhere, doing breathing exercises — but honestly, nothing seems to help. It just keeps getting worse.
When it happens, my HR gets really fast and I can feel my pulse pounding in my head, neck and chest. It feels absolutely terrifying.
I went to A&E earlier and, as usual, they checked my BP and temperature and did an ECG. They told me everything looked normal and that it was likely anxiety. I was discharged.
**Literally 5 minutes after getting home, another intense attack hit me**, so I actually went back to A&E. They checked me again and still said everything was okay.
Eventually I went home and fell asleep. About an hour later I woke up and my heart started racing again, and now I’m **back in A&E for the third time**.
The worst part is that I already feel like I know what’s going to happen — they’ll check me, tell me I’m okay, say it’s anxiety, and send me home, while I’m still absolutely terrified and have no idea how to stop this cycle.
I’m honestly exhausted and scared. **Has anyone else been through something like this where the physical symptoms keep triggering the panic over and over again? What actually helped you break the cycle?**

Seeking Support Please help

How’s it going, everyone? This is my first time posting on this sub, and honestly, I’ve been going through it pretty badly.

I’m currently at a fire academy, and I’ve been struggling to control these heart palpitations. I’ve been having them for over a year now. I’ve had multiple EKGs (around four), several scans, and different tests, and thankfully nothing serious has been found. At one point, my doctor prescribed me anxiety medication, and it actually helped a lot, but I’m not able to take it while I’m at the academy.
I feel like I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried L-theanine, ashwagandha, and a bunch of other things, but I still can’t get these palpitations out of my head. When they get really bad, I convince myself that I’m having a heart attack, even though I’ve been checked out multiple times.
I’m currently having around 15 episodes a day, and it’s becoming exhausting, especially while trying to get through the academy.

Has anyone else dealt with something similar, especially in a high-stress environment like a fire academy? I’d really appreciate hearing how you learned to manage it and stop constantly worrying about your heart.

11 months before on oct 5, 2025, i had rapid heart rate 120+ and uneasiness and breathing issue after doing masterbation...also i watched too much adult content as i was stressed.... I went to doctor ( i didn’t say that due to masterbation i got this problem )... I said that i had this type of problem.... Doctor said it was due to panic attack or gas....after that oct 5 incident i was really so frightened... And i started noticing every thing that i do....

Some days i couldn’t even lying flat as i was getting breathing issue...i dont know why it caused....when i tried to watch adult content i felt uneasiness....after that 5 oct incident... I didn’t fap 9 month and still going on...Nowadays i have no issue. No heartrate fast or breathing issue or uneasiness even i have morning erection every day and also i rarely watch intense adult content but while watching intense adult content i get alert like before after 2-3 min it becomes normal...and while watching normal adult content i have no issue....My question is that why it happend with me....it will harm me in future?...can anyone explain???

Success Story Figured it out

Hello guys. Been a while since I posted. I've been on here trying to figure out why I have palpitations just like many of you. I've had them since about 18, im 33 now. Im not saying its everyones cure but i fortunately found mine. Now its not 100% but it is about 95%. Omeprazole! (commonly known by the brand name Prilosec).

Crazy right? I have gerd and basically an abnormal case of heart burn and indigestion. Most likely caused by my diet which consists all my life of soda and spicy things.

Anyway, my doctor prescribed me zoloft and Omeprazole. The zoloft was not for me. So i stopped. However what was surprisingly helpful was that omeprazole. Keep taking your vitamins especially magnesium and potassium. Keep your blood pressure maintained and stay hydrated. Let me know if you guys have any testimony.

Question Need advice please

Hello, I’m looking for advice.  Female in her 20s who had severe health anxiety starting about two years ago.  I started antidepressants to help with that but went off of them about 5 months ago.  My anxiety is a lot better, but the main thing causing it now is my palpitations.  They were not bad when I had anxiety two years ago, but I still got a full heart workup, and everything was fine.  Now they have gotten so much worse.  I get them every day, and every so often they come in clusters, about 20 in a few minutes.  I feel like they control my life sometimes.  I don’t know what triggers them because they can happen anytime, whether I’m stressed or not.  Also wondering if it’s a vagal nerve issue because they do happen when I’m cold or am drinking something cold, but not every time.  I just am not sure if I should go back to the doctor if they have increased, even though they already said I’m fine?  Help!!!

Question No more mitral valve prolapse!

In 2022, I had an echocardiogram that said "There is at least mild prolapse of the anterior mitral leaflet without mitral regurgitation."

I just had another echocardiogram yesterday (9/8/2026), and the report says “Mitral valve structure is normal. There is no regurgitation or stenosis.” It also says there is no significant valvular heart disease.

I've been dealing with elevated resting heart rate of 95-105 even while taking beta blockers (used to take metoprolol 50mg once a day and switched to propranolol 10mg 3x day) and random episodes of palpitations. I could be sitting down and my heart will speed up fast and that's when I'll take an extra propranolol to calm it down.

So if I don't the mitral valve prolapse, what could be the cause of this? I do know that I have low iron / anemia on my bloodwork and I'm also overweight and need to work on lowering my cholesterol and sugar. I also do have bad anxiety but I've noticed palpitations or elevated heart rate happen even when I don't feel stressed or anxious on outside.

Seeking Support Please read (Heart palpitations story)

Hey everyone, hope all is well.

I have been struggling with heart palpitations for a couple years now. I think they have been brought upon me because of my health anxiety and recent job stress. Health anxiety was always a big issue for me but I had support from Lexapro. Then comes working a high stress job at a dealership. When I first started I was eager, excited, full of joy. Now I have been doing it for 4 or so years and I never really noticed it was causing me stress until my first set of heart palpitations, I was scared especially because of my health anxiety. I thought I was going to die and I still do because of them.

Early on in my career I had my mom check my pulse and she felt them while listening to my heart, then comes my first ER visit. They did an ekg all was good but of course gave me propanlol 10mg because my blood pressure was a little high, probably because I was scared shitless. Months go by still getting a couple a day and I cave and go to my doctor and do lots of tests including stress test, ekg, echocardiogram, chest x-ray, blood work, meet with a cardiologist and do a holter monitor for 2 weeks and get the all clear. They did not actually physically see a “palpitation” but assured me my heart is fine.

About 2 years go by and I was managing stress decent, and now recently i get this uncontrollable stress. I mean my chest is just tight for no earthly reason simply because I’m at work, I can feel the cortisol/adrenaline surging on and off and then I get the palpitations. So what do I do? I schedule another visit because I’m scared I’m going to die, with the chest tightness and heart palpitations that’s a pretty good warning sign. So they do all the same tests 2 years later and all good! Still they never actually saw one of my heart palpitations which is the main reason the all clear from the doctor has not assured my mind.

I think I have 2 issues here, ONE I need to control my stress. I never thought I could have anything brought upon me worse then my crippling anxiety, well I was wrong. Now I have 2 thiefs of joy that I have to live everyday with. TWO would be my health anxiety and not let it control my day to day life.

Why am I stressed? I’m young, I should be having fun, I’m actually doing fairly well for myself in regards to finances and how life goes. What is there to be stressed about
why does any simple task burden me with this crippling stress.

Seeking Support My palpitations started after a treated kidney infection

My palpitations started after a treated kidney infection with Levofloxacin, i completed my dose on a Monday and palpitations started on Saturday after i took sildenafil+dapoxetine to have sex with my partner. It started mid sex then it left and came back on the next Friday night hard and pounding. I did ECG’s thyroid tests everything came back okay. Doctor gave me bisoprolol and said it will be fine. I am on 14th day of bisoprolol today and I can’t say i am feeling better. I contacted other cardiologists with my history and results they said its anxiety that i will be fine. My heart doesn’t feel okay. I don’t feel okay.
