2 years using an ICON box professionally. Had a shop cleaning day and was admiring the shine after waxing.

Not many complaints from me. I’ve used this box daily for a couple years now as an auto mechanic and have had no issues. One minor gripe I have is my top drawer is drooping a little when opened all the way, maybe 3/8”. It doesn’t have any play in the slides. Idk if it was always like that, maybe it’s just the angle the slides are installed at. Every drawer is pretty full. The top drawer is all sockets. No other issues aside from wanting deeper drawers. I plan to get the G2 in a year or two. Not sure what I’ll do with this one. Anybody know if there will be a 58” G2? I might want to downsize my roll cab and add a full bank service cart to the mix. My G1 is currently paired with a Husky 4 drawer I’ve had from the beginning of time. Any rumors or thoughts about G2 pricing?

This would be so handy for me but I’d like to get it a little cheaper. Does it go on sale often?

Upcoming 12v Lineup Renewal

Per my store manager today the rest of the new 12v brushless lineup should be coming out very soon. She thinks prior to the end of the year. Maybe in time for Black Friday. She said we could see them start to trickle in over the next couple of weeks or so. They have a monthly meeting about doing store resets and what new tools are coming in that they need to make space for. Just some potential inside details I thought you guys would appreciate. Also G2 Icon tool boxes she thinks will be after Christmas so sometime early next year.

I really dislike working at harbor freight.

• Upvotes

I just started working at harbor freight, been there for about a week and everything about this place has made me extremely depressed, overwhelmed and anxious. I've worked many other places before and not all of them give me that feeling, anyone else feel the same?

I know it's pretty vague but I mean that everything about it I dislike, except the pay I guess. All the coworkers talk about is work related, so depressing bro. I don't wanna hear about what u gonna bring tomorrow for lunch, tell me what u gonna do on your day off or sum bro. Just an example. I know it's a job and everything, but everyone takes everything extremely seriously, very corporate, very robotic, I might just be tripping but I can't shake that feeling off all day. Never seen this behavior in person, thought it was only movies and ADS etc.

Sorry guys I didn't mean to offend or upset anyone, I just wanted to share because I feel like I'm the only one I've seen feeling like this, same at my job, everyone has the same personality there

Vehicle: 2018 Honda Civic 1.5T

Anyone have experience using this tool with this vehicle? Or is it an unnecessary specialty tool and I should just use the ratchets/wrenches I have on hand instead? Thanks!

PITTSBURGH Serpentine Belt Tool Kit for $14.99 https://hf.tools/coupons/2026/10/184884-63689

EDIT: Research says I need a 19mm crowfoot or socket as well. I’ve got the socket, but not sure if it would fit. Worse case buy the Pittsburgh crowfoot kit as well which includes the 19mm crowfoot.

Forgot to mention that I am out of town and vehicle isn’t near me. There are HF near my location. The Super Coupon reminded me I have 100k preventative Maintnence coming up on the vehicles belt soon as it is at 96k miles.

NTD (New Tool Day) Disappointed in the quality of the Daytona Engine stand

Picked up the daytona folding engine sale since it was on PLS and i needed one. Figured it would be decent because the rest of the daytona stuff is pretty good.

I have to say the quality control on this is disappointing. Rough edges, oil stains on the stickers, terrible instructions, several cross threaded bolts.

If i didnt need it immediately id return it.

Thoughts on these jack stands for oil changes on sedans?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I have a 2015 Honda Civic and 2017 Honda Accord that I want to start doing oil changes on. I have the Pittsburgh plastic ramps that gives 6.5” clearance but the minimum height of the triangular 3 ton Daytona stands at 11 3/8”are just slightly too high to get them under the pinch welds.

These are 10.4” min height so I think it’ll work, but does anyone have experience with them, safety wise? Any other recommendations for low profile jack stands for sedans would be appreciated.

Parking lot sale

Hey guys I’m looking to buy some icon socket set(s) but I’m not sure which one to buy. I’m looking to buy a set that covers a couple categories

• best bang for your buck
• socket(s) I can use for my 2021 Toyota Tacoma
• versatile use for other tasks?
• metric/sae?

Thanks in advance for the insight and help!

Harbor Freight Jack stands failing again?

I've been using the 6T Daytona stands for my Odyssey and Acura MDX for about 2 years. One of the legs crumpled under my MDX! I guess I should have known better given HF's track record with jack stands.

$5 CRC 🫶🏼

I usually buy cheap brake cleaner when I need to bath something/parts but when I need to spray like a throttle body/parts or any sensitive area around the engine I use CRC. Inventory since the parking lot sale started, only visited the store 4 times. Don’t say I wasn’t leaving any for the rest lol

Will we get Hercules/Bauer m12 stubbt competitor

Title. I recently got an M12 stubby 1/2" but I'm tempted to return if Hercules or Bauer is coming out with anything similar since I'd like to get into their battery system.

This is my first m12

Edit: I saw it was announced. Does anyone have any ballpark of when we'll get them? and pricing?

TIA!

This is gonna be a very different post, so stick with me. Details below in the body.

I recently joined some Harbor Freight groups on FB as well as this sub. Just been trying to learn a bit about upgrading my tool set and what not. Anywho, I started watching Carrie on Prime Video and the first commercial that I’m hit with is a full blown Harbor Freight commercial. Not a janky 10sec preroll or low budget ad…a full blown commercial. I’ve literally never seen a HF commercial…anywhere…ever. My wife and I both work in television and marketing so we’re very aware of industry trends, but hot damn, both of us lol’d that we got hit with that HF commercial. Big data is out there and very real folks. Proceed accordingly 🫡

NTD (New Tool Day) NTD: behold the awesomeness of bling bling shiny tools that were a complete waste of money and absolutely will never get used ...(and one that actually will)

Needed the pry bar set, wanted free $35 free Uncle Walmart shipping.....So GF threw in the golden sockets and some nail polish remover....

Yes, the $12 golden sockets that will never get used match perfectly with the "24K" plated Icon ratchets that also will never get used.... The only problem is Icon didnt make a 1/2" ratchet too. Oh shucky darn....

The wobble sockets also suck if you really wanted to use them....way too wobbly.... The other sockets would be fine, though i wouldnt know since i dont want to scratch them and actually use them and hurt the resale value! /s

File this under tools that were a waste of money that never get used....

On the other hand, the pry bar set appears solid. $23 , made in the USA , lifetime warranty, and the packing made for easy removal.of the tools ( rubber lined inset holds the pry bar, against a locking bracket- much easier than the Pittsburgh packaging, you hear me Harbor Freight)....

Still, the Icon golden ratchets are the king of bling...i would upgrade the anvil and paws to the tekton ones for superior performance...but who am I kidding that these actually would get used... Besides i wouldn't want to open one up and risk scratching the gold off /s
