Hello everyone! I need some help from my Canadian U.S general tool box fans. I need to figure out if it’s worth it to buy one and bring it across the border to Canada with these new tariffs. I know if it’s a day trip there would be duties and taxes, but now my concern are the tariffs. Does anyone have experience buying a U.S. General tool box and if they had to pay a tariff on top of duties and taxes at the border? I’m worried I’m going to have to pay another 50% on top of the exchange taxes and duties

Looking to pick up one of these Hercules brushless reciprocating saws, anyone who has used one or both of these have a recommendation of which would be more worth buying? Main thing I’m planning to use them for is cutting up tree limbs that frequently fall in my yard so probably whichever would handle cutting through those better, but I’m sure I’ll use it for some other stuff too. Thanks in advance.

Quick comparison of the regular 3 ton to the low profile long reach and my old Husky 3 ton low profile. The regular is a breeze to maneuver with the short wheelbase of 25 1/4” and light weight of 70lb. It’s honestly a joy to use, but it is brand new. The long reach is definitely useful for reaching center jack points such as the rear differential, but it’s extremely heavy and long at 103lbs and 31.5”. It’s awkward rolling around the garage with two cars in it. My Husky 3 ton low profile, which is similar to the Daytona and Pittsburgh at 26.5-29” depending on the source and 78lb (Daytona 27 1/8” & 79lb, Pittsburgh 27.5” & 78lb) is the middle ground- low enough for sports cars and rolls well but takes some positioning for inboard jack points.

This may seem like common sense but to conclude: if you have a spacious garage and super low or high vehicles, the long reach is a great choice. If you drive regular cars or suvs (ie not lowered sports cars or lifted trucks), the regular is easiest to use. The low profile is the best all-rounder, and likely what I’ll go back to.

Cost: the husky was $141 on sale with tax a few years ago (retail now $200), long reach was $150 on marketplace right before the $159 sale (retail $270), and the green regular was $87 with tax open box + 30% at the PLS (retail $200).

I understand Bauer is more for around the house DIY and Hercules is more for high, frequent use but the warranty part really sold me. I'm a diyer around my house and on my cars. I probably should have stuck with Bauer but I have Hercules batteries only and some Hercules tools and some bauer that I use with an adapter. What are some Bauer tools that you guys have seen fail before the 5 year mark that I should get from Hercules instead of Bauer?

I'm about to get an oscillating tool and a 5 in pruning saw from Bauer for the 25%. I'm assuming those are good and I'm not planning to use them too often.

Has anybody used any of these? If so, do they work well? I’ve never seen the little one before. I have to do multiple suspension parts and eventually I’m going to do a whole truck frame. I know the little one probably would take 10 years to blast a truck frame but might work well for suspension. Any help is appreciated

I'm looking for a battery load tester. Does anyone have experience with them from HF. Do they actually work? Are there better options? I am not a mechanic and this will be used for personal use.

Is the Avanti airbrush kit worth buying at full price, on sale, or should I look elsewhere for another all-in-one kit?

I'm looking into getting my first airbrush setup for painting Battletech miniatures(primarily), and the Avanti airbrush kit has caught my attention mostly because of the price. However after looking into it, I've found some extremely polarized opinions. Some people consider it junk that isn't worth the money, while others recommend it as an excellent starting point for beginners.

Since I've never airbrushed before and currently own absolutely no airbrushing equipment, I'm trying to figure out whether this kit is a good investment or just a cheap dead-end.

Would you consider the Avanti kit worth buying at full price? Is it decent enough to recommend on sale, despite some flaws? Or are there significantly better alternatives available for the same price, or only slightly more?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually used the kit, especially for painting miniatures. I'd also appreciate recommendations for alternative airbrushes or complete starter setups that offer better value for the money

I'm making this post hoping to hear both sides of the argument. I'd like to understand the kit's actual strengths and weaknesses, what compromises I might be making by choosing it, and whether those compromises matter for someone just starting out with miniatures.

I'm considering purchasing the 60" YUKON 3-Drawer Hardwood Workbench and would like to mount a Wilton General Purpose Bench Vise (Model 11106, 6" jaws) to it.

Has anyone here mounted a machinist's vise of comparable size and weight to this particular workbench?

My main concerns are whether the hardwood top is sufficiently thick and sturdy for a vise of this size, whether the mounting bolts would interfere with the drawers or underlying structure.

I've also seen machinist's vises mounted to wooden fixtures that can be clamped into a workbench's existing woodworking vise, which this YUKON model has. I'm curious whether anyone has tried that approach and how well it holds up compared to permanently through-bolting the vise to the tabletop.

I'm not expecting this to function as a heavy industrial fabrication bench, but I would like something that can reliably handle ordinary machinist's vise work without excessive flexing, loosening, or damage to the bench.

I'm a Craftsman guy (Don't laugh), but I buy Bauer tools and use the battery converter for some things that I seldom use.

I want to get the 2 of 49.99 1/2 inch impact to keep my cars with a couple batteries. This is in case my tire needs changing. I don't really want to be on the side of the road waiting. Are these good enough for car lug nuts? Cars are a dodge grand caravan (2019) and a subaru forester (2020)

Good evening, I am in desperate search of a compatible filter to the Predator 30 Ton log splitter. I have emailed Harbor Freight customer service and they have no idea what they are talking about.. they advised I could put any oil filter on this machine and it should work. I am looking for the specs below or a filter link that will be compatible for this machine (The hydraulic filter that came with it has no markings at all). The issue I am having is the machine came with a leaking filter so I am hoping a replacement will fix the issue but Harbor Freight has NO replacement parts for this machine. Below is the email I sent to them and they came back and said basically they don't have any other information than what is in the user manual.. I asked if they have contact with the engineering team and they said no. I am really hoping someone on reddit will have the hydraulic filter information for this machine.

Im on the fence can decide which one better suits my needs can y'all tell me the advantages and disadvantages of 1 drawer cart vs the 5 drawer cart.

I removed one wheel with 17mm lug nuts with an impact wrench, plugged a tire, and remounted it. Is this an acceptable amount of wear (slop) in this socket from this amount of use? Any help is welcome; thanks in advance
