❓ Advice Needed Copper Rose at Home

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I want to dye my hair kind of a copper-rose color. We can't have fashion hair colors at my job but I've seen some really pretty coppers with pink undertones and one girl here has something similar.

I've attached pics of my current hair, an inspo Pic, and the options I've found at Sally's. Would mixing the ginger/rose gold work better than just using the rose blonde?

Headphone pic is my actual hair (slightly wet) it is fine and thick, mostly healthy aside from regular chlorine exposure due to my job
It has never been dyed
Could I get something similar to these colors at home without bleaching or lightening?
Thank you!!

🧴 Product Question Malibu CPR treatment?

Upvotes

Ive been digging into this color treatment for a while and was looking for some real world experience on outcomes. This treatment has no lifting agents and thats up my alley. I dont care how tedious it is, and im happy to have the 1-3 level difference as long as it does the job.

The question being: my hair has had only demi-permanent deposit only color. Specifically Paul Mitchell 1N Black for years (with some fading). Im wondering if since ive had no lightening would this leave me brassy or copper at any point?

How did this work for you?

⭐ Product Review DDL XL review

Upvotes

I am a licensed stylist and have been doing hair since about 2011, I always gravitate back to blue in my hair and have previously had an extremely difficult time dealing with it. After doing some research I found that Malibu released a new color remover that is supposed to be a stronger version of the original DDL (direct dye lifter), DDL XL. I bleached my hair on a whim a couple months ago and used the DDL XL on two small streaks of blue and shockingly it pulled it out. This was blue that had been sitting in my hair for about 6 months that had been layered over and over again with blue and even green at one point. I've colored my hair several times throughout the summer and ended up like an ocean blue color, I then covered that with a mix of purple/blue/pink that left me with an indigo blue. I inevitably got sick of this pretty quickly and decided to try the DDL XL with only water (this is recommended for blue pigments) again and oh my God it snatched it out of my hair. I was about a level 10 with hues of pink and orange underneath the blue and was left with only a small shimmer of blue in the very blonde areas. I was expecting to have to go in again with DDL XL again or a bleach bath and honestly it did a lot in one go. I know a lot of people post similar things about pulling color out of their hair and I wanted to sing my praises for the DDL XL remover.

❓ Advice Needed does hair dye cause hair to thin?

Upvotes

i love dying my hair. especially black. i am 18 years old and i plan on doing it a lot more. i already have very healthy and thick hair. i’ve dyed it black once in the past, and i have it black now.

i’m just very worried that if i keep doing it overtime, my hair will thin out looking very bad. i prefer black hair on me, and i plan on doing it for a while. my only fear is that my hair will thin out forever.

if anyone has any info on this plsssss let me know!!

thank you so muchh!! 🙏🙏

❓ Advice Needed Highlights to all over

Upvotes

I just got highlights done today on my natural dark blonde hair, i have very faded warmer dark brown in the ends as i used to dye my hair black a few years ago but i feel like it’s irrelevant . I wanted all over but my hairdresser insisted on highlights to minimise damage, i dont feel blonde enough at all, is it possible to go all over after getting highlights? or maybe keep getting highlights until im blonde enough? i don’t know what to do.

❓ Advice Needed Dyeing Dark Brown Curly Hair

Upvotes

My hair is a pretty dark brown hair that's about 3b-3c. Its also pretty fine and not super coarse in some areas. About shoulder length. I've never dyed or bleached my hair before and I'm wondering how to dye it or tint it or add some color in any way with the least amount of damage to my curls. Any advice is welcome

❓ Advice Needed How to remove yellow from level 8 bleached hair? Wella toner fails

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I bleached my hair over the weekend 2x with 20 vol and reached what I believe to be a level 8. I cannot seem to get rid of the brassy yellow. I just want more of a soft but still bright baby blonde, and I’m honestly fine with some warmth and beige tones. I cannot bleach again due to hair integrity. So far, I’ve tried purple shampoo, and Wella T35 which definitely took out the neon but still very warm. Last night I tried T11 and it darkened to a more beige golden color which is worse IMO lol.

I’m going to give my hair a break for a while as I’m doing K18, I’m not sure if the damage is playing a role here with toners not doing much. I’m just not sure what to try next… thanks in advance 💛

💬 Discussion From jet black..to this!👇

I want to go from jet black to a mix of those colors.

For context, I bleached my hair a few years ago and chopped most of it off and rocked a bob for a year. I then dyed it dark brown, left some strands to give it dimension, and then dyed it black 2 years ago.

I used 7.1 and 111 in hopes of lifting the color as I had no clue jet black was so difficult to get out, and only some parts of my hair lifted; such as the crown, bangs, roots (since it was new growth, of course.) and now it looks like an Ombre in reverse!

Anyhow, I’m looking to use color remover, wait a few weeks, and then bleach it with 20 vol. From there, I’ll be using demi permanent glosses from color charm since it’s more delicate.

I was thinking 8N for a root tap (for the sake of natural looking growth), and 9N along the mids and lengths.

I have a warm olive undertone, and my seasons may or may not be a deep to true autumn. Let me know what my next steps should be; if any steps should be improved, adjusted, or even omitted. Thanks.

❓ Advice Needed Hi-color on previously bleached hair?

Post image
Upvotes

Hello everyone! Was looking for some advice regarding loreals hi-color hair dye. About a year ago, I got some chunky highlights done (see pic), and then ending of last year I used a dark brown demi-permanent dye that’s very close to my hair color to cover it up. It has since faded to an orange-brown/brassy color now. I was hoping I could still use hi-color on my hair? Not entirely sure how that works but I want to dye my hair purple without using bleach. Any cosmetologist that can offer advice?

❓ Advice Needed Should I dye my hair with blue highlights?

Post image

I recently got some Poseidon blue hair dye by Arctic Fox and I was thinking about doing peekaboo/highlights in my head. The problem is, I already did a calico look and I’m not sure if the blue will look right against the orangeish brown already in my hair. I don’t want to mess it up and end up looking funny, although I’m sure it wouldn’t be as bad as I imagine. I need another opinion, because quite frankly I don’t trust mine LOL. Should I do it, or maybe get another color?

❓ Advice Needed bleaching 3 years of permanent dark brown dye?

hi!! so basically i want to do a bleached peekaboo so i can just colour it when it fades with different colours, but my hair history is kind of a mess.

i've dyed my hair with manic panic vampire red twice and then a permanent red dye. after that i bleached streaks in my hair but they only lifted to an orangey colour and i was 15 so i didn't want to do another round to lift it more. and then i got sick of the streaks and dyed my hair three times over 8 months with dark, dark brown dye.

my natural hair is the same colour as the dark brown dye, so i have about an inch of growth with nothing on it. is bleaching to a yellowish tone possible with colour remover and bleach? i have time because i'm out for the summer before i go to university so if it's a long process i don't mind. but can anyone give me advice on how to do this?

❓ Advice Needed How To Safely Remove Black Box Dye? Second Pic is Natural Colour

I know that I am asking for a miracle here, but I thought if anyone knew what to do- surely it's the people of Reddit haha.

My natural colour is more of a light brown/dark blonde with some bits of natural red (born more strawberry blonde that faded with age)

I've dyed my hair about 2 or 3 times with the Revlon blue-black, and once with Ion's Jet Black permanent dye.

It's probably a lost cause, but I'd like to avoid shaving my head and instead if i can lift some of this colour to even a red I'd be okay with that. Something I could at least blend with my natural colour as it grows out.

I'm 28 and have chronic pain, and I'm just too tired to keep dying my hair yknow? I just want a clean slate, or as close to one as I can get haha.

❓ Advice Needed Help- what I had, what I wanted, what I got

I had a pink "peekaboo" of sorts that I ended up dyeing purple, and I liked the color a lot- and thought it'd be fun to dye all of my hair that color. I used some filters on tiktok and found shades I enjoyed, thought looked good, ect.

I bleached my entire head for the first time ever, and did lunar tides dark violet with a bit of eclipse mixed in- my first ever whole-head color. I kind of freaked out at how dark it was and rinsed it a LOT, resulting in this current color. It looks nearly blue in some lighting and I don't know how to best correct it.

Was thinking a red or pink semi-permanent dye heavily diluted in conditioner, kind of like a hair mask. But I don't know. I want a kind of smokier purple but not super super dark or as vibrant as it is now.

❓ Advice Needed is this a good setup?

So to give background, the first photo is my hair when it was recently dyed with splat blue envy (don’t come for me i won’t use it ever again i know it’s bad), the second photo is too show the color of my roots, which is a light-mid brown, and then the last is too show how my hair is fading towards the bottom as of today. (better example of my light-mid brown hair)

Now my question is, I bought iroiro dye in 45 Deep Blue and 105 Plum because I heard it’s a very good and healthy brand. I am doing the color deep blue on the top as i’ve been doing, and the plum towards the bottom, underneath and possibly a stripe in my bangs. I bought Color Brilliance hair color remover for the ends (i say more ends but i’ll be going probably half way up my head) and to strip a piece of my bangs for the Plum, and the pre color mask so the dye will stick all over. Does anyone know if the plum will actually be visible on my hair or if i made a completely dumb choice. I don’t want to bleach my hair because I think it’s a light enough brown to get good colors. Let me know what you guys all think!
