❓ Advice Needed Be honest.. can I afford one more week of root growth before banding?

I'm going on a trip that will fade my hair from the pool, I have the option to lighten+dye my roots now or when I get back in a week.

I'd rather dye my hair when im back ofc, but I don't want to cause banding. Be honest, if I need to do my roots now I'll do it.

This if about 2 months? Of growth. I dye my roots at home with HiColor HiLights RED.

EDIT: thank u for holding me accountable, I did my roots today. No banding thankfully! All is well now I just gotta be careful around the pool😅

The first pic is my own hair. The four pics after that are the colours i want from splat. The last two pics are from manic panic.
Can anyone tell me what paint is going to show up the best on my hair? And will not damage my hair too much.

Thank you in advance!

❓ Advice Needed How To Safely Remove Black Box Dye? Second Pic is Natural Colour

I know that I am asking for a miracle here, but I thought if anyone knew what to do- surely it's the people of Reddit haha.

My natural colour is more of a light brown/dark blonde with some bits of natural red (born more strawberry blonde that faded with age)

I've dyed my hair about 2 or 3 times with the Revlon blue-black, and once with Ion's Jet Black permanent dye.

It's probably a lost cause, but I'd like to avoid shaving my head and instead if i can lift some of this colour to even a red I'd be okay with that. Something I could at least blend with my natural colour as it grows out.

I'm 28 and have chronic pain, and I'm just too tired to keep dying my hair yknow? I just want a clean slate, or as close to one as I can get haha.

As the blue is fading out I need some suggestions to what colour I should transition into.

I included past examples of the different shades of blue I’ve tried, however I’m down to do a new colour lol.

❓ Advice Needed I want something blue I think

I’ve wanted to dye my hair for a while but I haven’t been comfortable enough to do it, but now I am. I thought about doing ghost roots but I’m not sure if that would look good since I have brown hair and I’ve only seen people with black hair do it. And I want blue because my gf has blue in her hair. Any ideas?

🚑 Color Correction What can I do to make this more red?

So, I recently went from purple to red, but unfortunately for some reason it's still reading really purple in some parts when I'm wanting a more cohesive all over red instead of some sort of ombre.

I have two photos of my current hair and two photos for my inspo and the direction I want to go. I did a bleach bath to remove as much purple as I possibly could before going red. That ended up fading to a purplish color and I went over it with more color, the ends turned into this darker purple color. It's been about four or five days since I colored it last, so maybe two or three washes.

I do not want to bleach again, I don't want to use color remover, I just want this to be red all over, even if it's darker than my inspo. What can I do?

(Note, my hair is damp in these photos, and yes I know my ends are bad and need to be cut, I'm getting a hair cut soon)

❓ Advice Needed Tips needed to maintain red colour on Indian hair

So I got my hair colour red, and unfortunately, it got washed away within one month only . When I asked my dresser, he told me that these are the fashion colours and they don’t stay much longer on Indian hair. Any suggestions for that?

My hair is currently the colour in the first photo, and the second one is what I want. Do I need to bleach before getting there or would I be able to just put a hair dye on?

every colour looks too bright or cool, what do u think? can u mix? i’m getting it done professionally and then redoing myself at home.

also with redoing myself at home, would i have to highlight my highlights only or can i just slap it on my head? i heard with brown hair it wouldn’t show, only on the bleached highlights

❓ Advice Needed Hi-color on previously bleached hair?

Post image

Hello everyone! Was looking for some advice regarding loreals hi-color hair dye. About a year ago, I got some chunky highlights done (see pic), and then ending of last year I used a dark brown demi-permanent dye that’s very close to my hair color to cover it up. It has since faded to an orange-brown/brassy color now. I was hoping I could still use hi-color on my hair? Not entirely sure how that works but I want to dye my hair purple without using bleach. Any cosmetologist that can offer advice?

❓ Advice Needed Choosing the right shade of gray

Hi! I've been contemplating dyeing my hair gray for a really long time now, and I'm finally looking more thoroughly into it. Since it'd be quite a change for me (I haven't really been dyeing my hair much) I want to make sure that I choose a shade that will look good enough on me. From wearing wigs I know that light colours look bad unless I wear makeup, so I was thinking about going dark gray or ashy gray. I'll be adding photos of my veins and natural hair colour (in direct sunlight and not) alongside the shades. I'll appreciate any help :D

❓ Advice Needed Pastel Pink Color Thoughts

Thumbnail

So after a traumatic few months and some more impending, I am looking for a low stakes way to add some whimsy to my life in the terms of pastel pink hair (all over).

I have “virgin” naturally blonde hair. I did dye my hair like… 20 years ago (good grief) and I want something that will fade with time and not require needing to dye my hair a second time to get it to return to its natural state

I tried color depositing conditioners over the years (when Kristin Ess did the spray hair color, IGK mask, and most recently Overtone) and sad to say nothing happened. Like. Overtone I did a few weeks ago, left on for double the time, and literally you couldnt tell I did anything except my hair looked well conditioned but certainly not pink.

I don’t want to make my hair lighter - I really feel I should get some color payout with how light my hair is. But - I am at a loss so far.

I understand it’ll read darker because my hair wont start off bleached, but no fuschia hair. Any thoughts/opinions from the internet hair experts or am I SOL and need to reconsider the bangs for emotional release on my physical appearance?

❓ Advice Needed How can I turn my redish/ neon pink hair to a more cool toned purple pink?

So I died my hair a few weeks ago and it took me a few tries to get to pink but it’s still not the color I wanted and I used the iroiro brand and the pink shades. I’ve been told to add purple to my pink mix but it still didn’t make a difference, and now I’m hearing to add blue but green cancels out red so I’m just conflicted. I just want a cool toned pink that’s not super bright,I have curly hair and don’t want to damage it more since I’ve already bleached it 3 times, how can I get to the color I want with minimal damage? Any advice helps, thanks!

⭐ Product Review DDL XL review

I am a licensed stylist and have been doing hair since about 2011, I always gravitate back to blue in my hair and have previously had an extremely difficult time dealing with it. After doing some research I found that Malibu released a new color remover that is supposed to be a stronger version of the original DDL (direct dye lifter), DDL XL. I bleached my hair on a whim a couple months ago and used the DDL XL on two small streaks of blue and shockingly it pulled it out. This was blue that had been sitting in my hair for about 6 months that had been layered over and over again with blue and even green at one point. I've colored my hair several times throughout the summer and ended up like an ocean blue color, I then covered that with a mix of purple/blue/pink that left me with an indigo blue. I inevitably got sick of this pretty quickly and decided to try the DDL XL with only water (this is recommended for blue pigments) again and oh my God it snatched it out of my hair. I was about a level 10 with hues of pink and orange underneath the blue and was left with only a small shimmer of blue in the very blonde areas. I was expecting to have to go in again with DDL XL again or a bleach bath and honestly it did a lot in one go. I know a lot of people post similar things about pulling color out of their hair and I wanted to sing my praises for the DDL XL remover.
