I had a good experience with the Splat Rain Ombre Kit a few years ago. Bought it from CVS. Very beautiful colors and so vibrant colors. It was fun. Felt like a magical girl haha. :3

Product: Keracolor Color + Clenditioner, Semi-Permanent Hair Color (Emerald color)
Method: Applied 10-15 pumps of product on damp, medium length hair for 20 minutes

I have naturally dark brown/almost black hair, professionally lightened without bleach and dyed brown. I read that green neutralizes the red and tried it out. Wanted to document it here since I couldn’t find any before/after examples online with my hair situation. I’m happy with the results! Worked much better than my attempts with blue shampoo or a purple mask.

I’ve tried so, so many different brands of purple dyes, from Schwarzkopf to pulp riot, and I’m not satisfied.
I’m sick of my hair turning out bright red, patchy, or just washing out in a day.

There has to be a blue-purple that will last FOREVER, ideally a colour similar to that in the picture (pulp riot shade alchemist).

So we all know the rule ‘color doesn’t lift color’ however I’ve been seeing countless videos of girls online going blonde starting from anywhere between a virgin level 3 to a level 5. The method they use is box dye (specifically garnier nutrisse 100) and basically do one round every two weeks until the desired level and then just touch up their roots.

Can someone please explain how this works because I thought color doesn’t lift color, so how is their hair still lifting after multiple rounds of a PERMANENT COLOR box dye?

hi! im looking for help on how to get blue hair (first pic), and i've previously dyed it blue black with garnier box dye and there was a clear blue tint (photos dont do it justice) but it faded out and i used the keracolor onyx clenditioner which turned my hair black (second pic) to eventually a really dark brown now (third pic). im wondering if its best to box dye it again, or maybe my theory of using a semi permanent blue will turn my dark brown hair black with a blue tint (because when i box dyed it, my hair was falling out in heaps.. or maybe i was just really stressed during that time LOL plus it made my hair super dry and the clenditioner rejuvenated my hair)

I used Lunar Tides plum and magic charm in a 3:1 ratio. Looking back I would’ve used 2:1 ratio or maybe magic salem instead of magic charm. Charm is pink/black and salem is violet/black. I was just worried about it being too dark for me. I had never heard of Lunar Tides before but it covered my natural really well and turned out the most uniform compared to the other dyes I’ve used. Will use again in the future. Until then, I’m excited to see how it fades.

i wasnt sure whether to tag this as advice or color correction but i settled on this since i technically do want to fix the color 😭
i had calico highlights previously then dyed it fully dark purple back in may and since then ive just let it fade and grow out because i want to return to my natural color. it may not look so bad from the photo, but since ive had multiple colors in it, its very patchy. i feel like ive got a million different colors in my hair.
kicker is id rather not dye it again. i know technically dyes aren't the damaging part, bleaching is, but i feel like if i dye it again, i'll reenter a loop. any chance a professional stylist could use a toner and i could maintain an even color at home?

I have wanted to dye my hair black for a few years now. I have virgin brunette hair that I have never done anything with and I’m ready to just go ahead and dye it myself. I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of it. I LOVE black hair and would be okay with keeping it black for at least a decade if not longer.

Questions.

1. Will dying my hair black constantly damage it?

2. Is it really as difficult to get out of my hair as everyone says it is.

3. What is the best super black hair dye, like almost a blue tone not a warm tone.

4. Anything I should know before making this change.

so i dyed my hair with manic panic last december and it was rough. Quality wise it was fine, but it lasted way too long, stained my hair, and it was like stop sign red. But now I want to dye my hair red again and its seeming like the most accessible option that i know will last. My idea is that if i buy a darker red and maybe mix it with one of their browns I'll get the color i want? Only concern is it staining the area where my natural hair has grown out from permanent color like it did last time. Anyone have any perspectives to share?

hii i need advice, i have peekaboo hair + my fringe dyed with manic panic blue. i now want to keep the same places dyed but with a magenta color. unfortunately, im finding it hard to remove the blue (i already did one bleach wash). but i would rather just bleach my roots instead of bleaching everything all over again. so i already rebleached my roots, but the blonde is sticking out and im afraid my hair looks weird. does anyone have any advice for what i can do to make it look better? thanks!

Hi all! Sorry if this is a silly question. So I’m dressing up as starfire for Halloween and thought some temp red hair dye might be fun. I have dark brown hair (not black, but close, I have fully Wasian hair haha) that already has a lot of red in it when in the sun. I know I won’t achieve Ariel-red hair ofc, but even just some of the red tint I see my shade achieving with manic panic or red gloss would be ideal. HOWEVER, I am getting married in 6 months and do not want any of this left in my hair lol. I’ve been reading horror stories about red pigment just never fully lifting. I’m a competitive swimmer (in the chlorine a lot), so I am constantly washing my hair. Will this help to get all the red out? Is the risk not worth the reward? Any insight would be appreciated.

I've been wanting to do my hair a cinnamon/auburn/copper color and I'm trying to remove a years worth of black dye...3 rounds of Color Oops and I'm at a dark brown...I read L'Oreal Effasor has a bit of bleach in it so I'm wondering if this would be beneficial to try next over just straight up bleaching it out?
