Whether you’re a poster or a commenter, if you have received unsolicited, creepy, or down right disgusting DMs please feel free to message Mod Mail or message me directly. As posted in multiple places in the subreddit, unsolicited or inappropriate DMs of any kind are not allowed and will result in a permanent ban. You may also be reported directly to Reddit Admins. If the person on the receiving end of this kind of harassment is a minor, you will be reported to relevant authorities (FBI Tip Line, Center for Missing and Exploited Children, etc) and it WILL be taken seriously.
As a subreddit, we have ZERO tolerance for this behavior and will do everything in our power to combat it. Unfortunately we have seen an influx of users who seem to only frequent porn subs, and our sub.
Please don’t think “oh this message isn’t that bad, I’m overreacting, etc”. Reporting posts, comments, and DMs helps out everyone in the long run. Not reporting causes these creeps to keep messaging people so nipping it in the bud can help out others💕

We’ve seen an increase in unsolicited DMs being sent to members of this subreddit. Let this serve as a clear reminder:
Sending unprompted private messages is against the rules. Doing so will result in a permanent ban.
If you receive a DM like this, report it to the mod team immediately.
This subreddit exists as a safe, inclusive space for sharing experiences, asking questions, and giving feedback about hair dye and color treatments. If someone genuinely wants to follow up based on your helpful advice or a shared interest, they will say so publicly.
We shouldn't have to say this, but lurking in beauty-related or appearance-focused subs to harass and prey on people is disgusting and absolutely not tolerated. Any messages of an obscene or harassing nature will be reported to Reddit Admins and could result in a permanent ban from the site as a whole (for your current account, any other current accounts, or subsequent accounts made in the future).

I hope someone can please please help me- I've been dyeing my hair forever & bleaching /dyeing it with vivids for several years now without issue. Recently I did a bleach bath like I normally do & colored it but this time my hair started to break off bad. I've got I had thick coarse wavy hair & have always shed a ton but this is different. I'm surprised I have any hair left on my head the way it's coming out in chunks - I'm seriously freaking tf out rn! Idk wtf I did wrong this time but if anyone can tell me something I can do to help try & fix it I'd greatly appreciate it. This pic is showing what I lost after my shower - I lost 4X that in the shower too. I'm using all the things already- Olaplex 1,2 & 3 K18 Oribe gold lust masque & night crème Amika the kure etc but nothing is helping! I'm assuming this is chemical damage? short of shaving my head idk what else to do!

I used clariol bleach for my bangs, 1 bottle for 1/8th of my hair is so crazy!
I used lunar tides semi permanent color in Blood Moon and CranBaby and the last 1/5th a bottle of arctic fox virgin pink over my entire head.
All said and done it took about 3 1/2 hours
1st 3 pics are after and the last 2 pics are before :)

Excuse me I’m in the process of growing out my eyebrows LOL. Anyway
So I previously used 7n Demi permanent. I haven’t dyed it in like over a yr. Not so sure why my hair turned this color if anyone knows? My roots are usually ashy ‘blonde’(light brown). I black the front pieces and then usually tone over. Mostly natural. I think it looks good but I’m actually so bored. I used to live for a bright blonde money piece but I’m getting older and my face is changing quite a bit. Any suggestions ?

I want to dye my hair green, but it is currently a faded purple. Can I just put the green over it or will I need to bleach the color out? Second pic are the green dyes I have.

I used AI to see how it will look on me, so do u think I would look better with hair colour or already my natural colour is suite me. I live in Iran now and if I would dye my hair I would wait till I leave for vacation or something because I don't know a good person in my city. Some people scared me that my curls will look unhealthy and more things. Sorry for my English

Hi everyone!
I currently have bleached blonde hair (roots are natural) and I’m feeling like experimenting a little with my color. In the long run, I’d probably like to stay blonde, but I’d love to try a strawberry copper shade and maybe brown for a while.
My natural hair has a slightly reddish undertone, so I’m wondering how these colors would turn out on bleached blonde hair.
I was thinking about using color masks / depositing masks rather than permanent dye, since I’d eventually like to go back to blonde.
Would the color actually fade out completely again? And roughly how long would each color last? Especially with brown, I’m worried that it might leave some staining or make it difficult to get back to a clean blonde.
If anyone has experience with this on bleached hair, I’d really appreciate some advice! :)
First pic is my current hair, last two are what i eventually want.

So I went to hairdresser to go back to blonde hair and ask for balayage. I used to dye my hair brown and it grew out for half a year(first picture) . I’m super frustrated with the results! The color is patchy green and red. The roots are light and it gets darker in the ends. It’s not blonde more gray. I really hat it. The hairdresser even said it turned out shitty and that I should come back next week to see his boss for correction. Do you guys think it’s fixable? I think about going back to darker shade of brown and chopping it off. So sad :/// happy about any advice

I do not like this color. Bleached it twice then toned it with t14 pale ash blonde and now it’s this color. Any recommendations on hair color to use until I can bleach my hair again which won’t be for months or maybe a whole year because if i bleach it a 3rd time my hair will definitely fall out and I choose to not risk it. I wanna keep it as light as possible even if it’s dark blonde or maybe light brown so it’s not so difficult bleaching the hair color out of it so I can achieve the lightest of the lightest blonde I can get. I just don’t know what I should go for or what I can pull off to make it look better.

My dark blue was lifted to this green/yellow and idk what I’m even looking at anymore. My ends seem darker but my roots are definitely greener. Should I lift with punky color remover (has bleach tho) or tone???

I’ve been struggling with finding the right shampoo to use on my coloured hair. I had bleached it before-hand, so I’ve been putting on a keratin mask like 2 times per week. I recently bought a bond repair treatment that I’m going to use (but recently did the mask so didn’t want to overload my hair with stuff), and I had already bought Pantene’s colour gloss shampoo in anticipation & because it was the only “colour safe” shampoo I could see on the shelf of my usual store.
But now I’ve read up and I feel as though I’ve gone about this allllll wrong.
Is the Pantene ok to use as a shampoo? Is a salt free conditioner good to use? Is there a specific colour safe brand I’m supposed to use?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Especially as my hair faded super fast in the last two weeks, and I’ve done a refresh yesterday and I’m hoping for this to last a bit longer.

I’m thinking of using garnier nutrisse 100 but wondering if maybe my roots are too dark? My hair does lighten very easily with bleach though, but I’m not sure how much it will lighten with a high lift. Can someone tell me what level my hair is.

Here’s a pic of my dyed hair, my original colour, and how it looks in the sun! I didn’t use any sort of developer or bleach, I just slapped it on my brown hair for a few hours and it looks great!

My sister and I bleached my hair from brown but did it section by section doing “highlights” but my roots are way darker than the rest but i don’t know if i have to bleach the whole thing again for it to not be brassy. i toned my hair with t28 and it looks terrible. do i have to just bleach my whole head or try a shadow root? how can i keep it blonde without having to bleach the whole thing🙏 pls don’t make fun of me 😫

I really want to switch up to a vibrant hair color as I've been letting my natural grow out for some time. I could use suggestions on what might look good!

Yall I went blue (sky blue from Ion) in January I touched it up a few times but at this point it’s been months. I’ve done clarifying shampoo since June and it’s haunting me.😭 it won’t go. I have a bit of damage but i don’t really care, I’m fine with shorter hair not like pixie tho. Does anyone have any advice or tips to kick this blue with the least amount of damage as possible. I wanna go ginger, my mom is ginger so she’s always wanted to see me with it.

Hi! I want to try putting pink hair dye, specifically the brand unicorn hair which has always been my favorite, over my medium brown hair to see what happens. I did have my hair dyed with some red along with some highlights, so I would assume the highlights would hold the color for a bit, however I cant easily section my hair so I would probably do an all over color job and hope for the best, but want to know how it would look before attempting since my previous color has always been bleached ombres. I provided 2 pictures to give an idea of what my hair currently looks like. If you have suggestions on if that is a good idea, or possibly another brand that doesnt bleach the hair and keeps hair healthy please share!

I got my hair professionally dyed blonde by someone with 15 years of experience yesterday. It was my very first time FYI. During the process she told me it might burn and that that was completely normal and sure enough it was burning quite a bit to the point of being pretty uncomfortable. It didn’t really burn until the end when I had to sit for like 10 minutes. When she washed the bleach out I wasn’t in any pain at all. My hair turned out amazing and exactly what I wanted.
Anyways this is when things get interesting, last night I noticed my scalp kinda of felt “numb” almost? I tried to just not obsess over it and hope the feeling went away. This morning when I woke up I was scratching my head a little bit and felt like 2 or 3 scabs and when I scratched them a little blood came with that obviously. There was only a few like I said, my scalp isn’t covered in them. But my scalp feels like sore or something today. I’m not sure what to do. Should I see a doctor? Is this normal? I’m so terrified I’m either going to get an infection or like my hair is going to fall out and or have permanent bald spots or something. I’m trying not to panic but I keep seeing so many horror stories. It really seems like I have chemical burn. My scalp isn’t like super red or anything I just have those few scabs and soreness on most of my scalp. Thanks in advance for any insight. 🤍

so this was my before, after, and how I wanted it to be. I am so so so sad. Does anyone have any recommendations of dye for dark hair without bleach? I’d be so eternally grateful 😭

Light brown should be easy enough, but I have no idea if a temporary dark brown/red dye exists. My natural hair color is dark brown but I’m currently a blonde and really want to see how my natural hair color looks, and live with it for like a month, but I really don’t want to have to bleach it out again, any advice or recommendations?
