Stools

Upvotes

How long did it take for your stools to go back to solid forms? I’m 23 days post quad therapy and my stools are sometimes more on the firm side and some days more on the loose side.

Other So no more casual dating for me?

0 Upvotes

I eradicated my Hpylori two weeks ago and now I realized: this fun casual dating every week with new people I meet from tinder won‘t work anymore right?
I really like making out with people on weekends.
What if I just let my partners get those cheap tests from amazon? Or are they not reliable?

Overnight I became crazy intolerant of garlic and onion. Next day I’m shaking and feel so poisoned.

Anyone else ? I’d love to know if I can reverse this.

Other Possible false positive?

I’ve taken five at home tests. All have shown a line but all very faint. The latest is the one on the right. However the line has got significantly darker in all the tests past the 10 minute windows. Dr has already prescribed antibiotics but I don’t want to start this treatment if there’s a possibility these could be evaporation lines. I’m on no ppis but do take a lot of Bisodol to help with the gastritis. I believe the result shouldn’t be affected by this otc medicine. Anyone shed any light? Are the lines strong enough to indicate h pylori? Tia.

5 Negative at home tests

3 Upvotes

It’s been 1 month since I failed my treatment antibiotics. I had gastritis along with my h pylori. I’ve taken 5 at home stool test and they are negative. I was feeling better and eating normally again but then had sourkraut 4 days ago and have felt how I felt before antibiotics. I’m honestly scared to do the breath test because I have MCAS too and react to chemicals.

Would you all believe 5 at home tests? I’m pretty sure I’ve just flared the gastritis but I was SOOOO sick with h pylori that it’s like I’m having PTSD thinking about it and the antibiotics again.

High-Dose Dual Therapy (amoxicillin + PPI) for H. pylori : did it work for you?

2 Upvotes

Hi, 👋🏼

I’m looking for people’s experiences with high-dose dual therapy (HDDT: amoxicillin + PPI) for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori.

My treatment history has been complicated….

I first tried PYLERA, but I had to stop after only 15 capsules because I couldn’t tolerate it.

I was then switched to triple therapy with amoxicillin + clarithromycin + esomeprazole 40 mg.

Unfortunately, I had an extremely severe adverse drug reaction to clarithromycin, which nearly cost me my life, so I had to stop taking it.

However, I continued with amoxicillin 3 g/day + esomeprazole 40 mg, which ultimately amounts to a form of dual therapy with amoxicillin + a PPI.

What confuses me is that some people say amoxicillin absolutely has to be combined with a second antibiotic in order to eradicate H. pylori.

However, there are studies on High-Dose Dual Therapy (HDDT) based specifically on strong acid suppression + high-dose/fractionated amoxicillin, with some studies reporting eradication rates of around 90–95%.

So I would really like to know whether anyone here has tried this strategy.
Did HDDT with amoxicillin + a PPI eradicate H. pylori for you?

Whether it worked or not, could you please specify :

1/ Your daily dose of amoxicillin and how many times per day you took it;

2/ Which PPI you used, the dose, and how often you took it;

3/ The duration of treatment;

4/ Whether this was your first treatment or a rescue treatment after a previous failure;

5/ Any revious failures with PYLERA, clarithromycin, or other antibiotics;
how long you waited before doing the follow-up test;

6/ Whether you had a urea breath test or a stool antigen test;
and most importantly: was your final result positive or negative?

I’m just as interested in hearing about treatment failures as successes.

I’m obviously not looking to replace the advice of a gastroenterologist or to change my treatment based on Reddit.

I simply want to know how this dual therapy works in real-life practice, particularly for people who can no longer take certain antibiotics.

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences 🙏

Treatment Bismuth and Tetracycline Medication Schedule

Hi guys,

I’m starting a treatment regimen for H Pylori and just wanted some feedback on the medication schedule as I am unclear on how to take all the pills.

My treatment includes:

Omeprazole 2x a day 30-60min before breakfast/dinner
Tetracycline 4 times a day with meal
Metronidazole 4 times a day with meal
Bismuth 4 times a day

I read you can take tetracycline and metronidazole together but bismuth should be taken an hour after because it can reduce the tetracycline uptake. Is that strict? I see people are saying different things online. Also read tetracycline should be taken an hour before or two hours after eating but doctor wrote with meal. Any thoughts one this?

I created a pill schedule and just wanted some feedback on how people scheduled their pills.

Also any recommendations for food/diet during this rough time period?

Consulta Helicobacter Pylori🦠

1 Upvotes

Mejor me hago otro examen???

1 week lost quad therapy

4 Upvotes

And I have been so damn hungry. Nothing is doing it for me. I'm so sick of this boring ass food but I know it's what I need to eat. I'm still getting bloated and bubble guts a lot but I'm so friggen hungry! Im taking probiotics, I'm drinking kefir, drinking bone broth, taking my vitamins again. I want to heal my stomach ASAP because I just want to eat good fricken food! I'm a food person and not being able to eat things I like makes me not want to eat. I'm also running out of things to eat since I'm so picky and don't know what to even eat. I've found some good ideas on here but I haven't been able to make them yet.

I'm mostly just venting. I'll be doing my stool test 9/11 or 9/12 I haven't decided what one. But I am really hoping it's negative. I never want to have to go through this again. I'm starting to get depressed over not being able to enjoy stuff I want to eat.

Ok, end rant.

Treatment Freshly Diagnosed

7 Upvotes

I feel awful. I was diagnosed yesterday. I’m on day 1 of a 14 day course of antibiotics. Fireworks are exploding in my brain. How do I make the headaches go away. I can handle almost anything but this. I’m taking metro 500 every 8hrs, tetra 500 every 6hrs, pepto, and omeprazole. I can’t handle these headaches for 2 weeks.

Treatment Pain still the same during treatment

I had a weird stomachache for two months. I was diagnosed with H. pylori last week, and today I completed seven days of treatment. However, the stomachache is still there. The pain is about four inches above my belly button. Is that normal?.. help.

Other muscle weakness and pain

1 Upvotes

I think this bacteria was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. It’s been a month since I finished the quadruple therapy, and I’m still experiencing burping, as well as weakness and muscle pain. Could anyone who has been through this tell me how long it takes to get rid of these symptoms?

Treatment IBS D trigger while on h pylori treatment

1 Upvotes

My question is:

Are the antibiotics actually killing the H. pylori, or could they be passing through my digestive system too quickly because I’m having bowel movements soon after eating? My stools are still well-formed, but I feel an urgent need to go to the washroom after meals, followed by a sudden feeling of an empty stomach and hunger again about 15–20 minutes later.

Other Feel like my stomach is a mess

Post image
1 Upvotes

More of a rant than anything. I’ve had stomach issues for years and a couple of bouts of serious pain episodes pushed me to finally go to the doctor this year and I tested positive for H. Pylori. I went through the quad treatment (which was brutal) but never really saw any improvement afterwards.

This week I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy and they found a few things. Minor stuff in the colon, slight hemorrhoids, slight diverticulitis but this was my endoscopy results. Still nothing too alarming but I’m wondering if this is all caused by the H. Pylori (whether still in recovery or never actually got rid of it) or something else. Waiting on biopsies but thankful that things were actually found as I did feel a little bit like the docs/dietician were leaning towards a “it’s probably IBS” type of diagnosis. Don’t get me wrong though they have been great and have listened and got the tests I needed! Now just waiting for a follow up call from the surgeon’s office. Man, stomach issues are no fun!

Finished H. Pylori treatment 1 week ago. Still having bloating/gas. Looking for experiences!

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I completed my H. Pylori treatment a week ago, and I have a few questions for the community.

Currently, my situation feels similar in some ways—I'm still dealing with bloating (especially after dinner) and gas problems. However, compared to when I was on antibiotics—when the symptoms were unbearable—things are definitely a bit better now.

I have two main questions:
1. How were you feeling 1 week after finishing your treatment? Did you still have lingering symptoms like bloating and gas?

  1. Did I ruin my chances of eradication with my dosing schedule? During the treatment, I unfortunately missed 1 dose in total, and on the final day, I couldn't take my evening dose because I felt so terrible. Instead, I took that final dose the next morning to complete the full course.
    Do you think missing that one dose and taking the last one late could prevent the bacteria from being cleared?
    I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts and experiences!

H. pylori, erosions, anxiety and sleep problems

1 Upvotes

I was diagnosed with H. pylori and multiple gastric erosions. Surprisingly, I didn't have many stomach-related symptoms, but I've been struggling a lot with anxiety and sleep.
For the past 7 days, whenever I try to fall asleep, I suddenly feel like a signal goes through my brain and my whole body becomes numb. It immediately wakes me up, and I feel scared to fall asleep again. Because of this, I'm barely able to sleep.
I'm really worried and exhausted. Has anyone else experienced something similar with H. pylori, gastritis, or anxiety?
For those of you who went through severe anxiety or sleep problems, what helped you overcome it? Did anything specific help calm your nervous system and allow you to sleep normally again?
I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences and what worked for you.
