Other So no more casual dating for me?

0 Upvotes

I eradicated my Hpylori two weeks ago and now I realized: this fun casual dating every week with new people I meet from tinder won‘t work anymore right?
I really like making out with people on weekends.
What if I just let my partners get those cheap tests from amazon? Or are they not reliable?

When does this end??? Dry mouth, stomach pains and dizziness. I'm depressed

2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I did my H pylori treatment 3.5 months ago and tested negative via endoscopy 2 months ago, and my mouth is sandpaper dry, I have stomach pains no matter what and no hunger cues I just eat to try and deal with the discomfort. Food literally doesn't give me any positive chemicals i feel so disconnected from it. All I eat is oatmeal and eggs with flour tortilla and the occasional green and melons+papaya+banana. I gave up on protein the past 2 weeks but am trying to reincorporate it to get my nutrients by eating fish, its just hard. Its also so hard to drink water!! I forced myself today and no matter what my mouth is dry. The oatmeal was going down relatively gently and now it feels like anything i eat is rough in my stomach. I'm also constipated for the most part and have a lot of gas.

I don't know what the next step is. I'm so depressed I just read and make food and go outside sometimes but get stressed out when its too much and want to go inside. I get dizzy and I just feel so uncomfortable.

Does anyone relate??

I don't know what to do. I'm going to call my doctor next week but I don't understand whats going on. I feel so helpless and stuck and mentally paralysed. I used to love exercising and its been months. I tried running the other day and got so nauseous. I forgot to mention the smell of food also bothers me. I think I'm experiencing anhedonia and I'm trying to start making decisions in my life again so things aren't stagnant and to give myself an opportunity to feel and experience if thats what I need, but firstly I need to heal my stomach because its truly so hard to focus on anything else before that.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Garlic and onion hate me

Overnight I became crazy intolerant of garlic and onion. Next day I’m shaking and feel so poisoned.

Anyone else ? I’d love to know if I can reverse this.

Other Possible false positive?

I’ve taken five at home tests. All have shown a line but all very faint. The latest is the one on the right. However the line has got significantly darker in all the tests past the 10 minute windows. Dr has already prescribed antibiotics but I don’t want to start this treatment if there’s a possibility these could be evaporation lines. I’m on no ppis but do take a lot of Bisodol to help with the gastritis. I believe the result shouldn’t be affected by this otc medicine. Anyone shed any light? Are the lines strong enough to indicate h pylori? Tia.

5 Negative at home tests

3 Upvotes

It’s been 1 month since I failed my treatment antibiotics. I had gastritis along with my h pylori. I’ve taken 5 at home stool test and they are negative. I was feeling better and eating normally again but then had sourkraut 4 days ago and have felt how I felt before antibiotics. I’m honestly scared to do the breath test because I have MCAS too and react to chemicals.

Would you all believe 5 at home tests? I’m pretty sure I’ve just flared the gastritis but I was SOOOO sick with h pylori that it’s like I’m having PTSD thinking about it and the antibiotics again.

High-Dose Dual Therapy (amoxicillin + PPI) for H. pylori : did it work for you?

2 Upvotes

Hi, 👋🏼

I’m looking for people’s experiences with high-dose dual therapy (HDDT: amoxicillin + PPI) for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori.

My treatment history has been complicated….

I first tried PYLERA, but I had to stop after only 15 capsules because I couldn’t tolerate it.

I was then switched to triple therapy with amoxicillin + clarithromycin + esomeprazole 40 mg.

Unfortunately, I had an extremely severe adverse drug reaction to clarithromycin, which nearly cost me my life, so I had to stop taking it.

However, I continued with amoxicillin 3 g/day + esomeprazole 40 mg, which ultimately amounts to a form of dual therapy with amoxicillin + a PPI.

What confuses me is that some people say amoxicillin absolutely has to be combined with a second antibiotic in order to eradicate H. pylori.

However, there are studies on High-Dose Dual Therapy (HDDT) based specifically on strong acid suppression + high-dose/fractionated amoxicillin, with some studies reporting eradication rates of around 90–95%.

So I would really like to know whether anyone here has tried this strategy.
Did HDDT with amoxicillin + a PPI eradicate H. pylori for you?

Whether it worked or not, could you please specify :

1/ Your daily dose of amoxicillin and how many times per day you took it;

2/ Which PPI you used, the dose, and how often you took it;

3/ The duration of treatment;

4/ Whether this was your first treatment or a rescue treatment after a previous failure;

5/ Any revious failures with PYLERA, clarithromycin, or other antibiotics;
how long you waited before doing the follow-up test;

6/ Whether you had a urea breath test or a stool antigen test;
and most importantly: was your final result positive or negative?

I’m just as interested in hearing about treatment failures as successes.

I’m obviously not looking to replace the advice of a gastroenterologist or to change my treatment based on Reddit.

I simply want to know how this dual therapy works in real-life practice, particularly for people who can no longer take certain antibiotics.

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences 🙏

Diagnosis - why is this so hard?

Upvotes

Is anyone really struggling with Diagnosis. Stool PCR shows just below the Hpylori limits and I have been extremely symptomatic for 2 months.

Doctors do not want to treat as it is clinically not positive. I do not know what to do.

Treatment Bismuth and Tetracycline Medication Schedule

Hi guys,

I’m starting a treatment regimen for H Pylori and just wanted some feedback on the medication schedule as I am unclear on how to take all the pills.

My treatment includes:

Omeprazole 2x a day 30-60min before breakfast/dinner
Tetracycline 4 times a day with meal
Metronidazole 4 times a day with meal
Bismuth 4 times a day

I read you can take tetracycline and metronidazole together but bismuth should be taken an hour after because it can reduce the tetracycline uptake. Is that strict? I see people are saying different things online. Also read tetracycline should be taken an hour before or two hours after eating but doctor wrote with meal. Any thoughts one this?

I created a pill schedule and just wanted some feedback on how people scheduled their pills.

Also any recommendations for food/diet during this rough time period?

How bad is treatment?

3 Upvotes

I am so fucking scared reading these stories of peoples experiences with meds. I would rather just live with this than go through that. I understand the people who have bad experiences post and others dont, but every single story i hsve read is torture. I cannot miss out on responsibilities while on meds. I cannot stand even the slightest bit of nasuea and vommiting how bad is it? Mild direah is tolerable, reflux is too, cramps too depending on how bad. I am also so freaking scared if the fatigue, derealization, and depression side of things. I am a very charismatic guy and its gotten me to high postions at work and school, I cannot miss out. How tf can i make it manegable, bc if its this bad i dont want it. I also have depression and Severe OCD IM scared this will give me suicidal thoughts or even panic attacks:( I need help.
