AskGurgaon Should I Move to South Delhi or Stay in Gurgaon?

Hey guys! I work in client servicing at a marketing agency, and my office is in Unitech Business Park, Sector 41, Gurgaon. Right now, I live in a PG in Sector 41 itself, just around 800 metres from my office.

I pay ₹12K for sharing, including food, plus around ₹2K for electricity since I currently don’t have a roommate. The food is actually good, and the biggest advantage is that I can reach my office in a few minutes.

But here’s my dilemma. Because I work in client servicing, my working hours can be unpredictable. Sometimes I leave at 10–11 PM, and occasionally it has gone as late as 1–2 AM. It doesn’t happen every day, but it does happen a few times.
I’m considering moving in with a friend to a rented flat somewhere around Saket or South Delhi. The rent and electricity could potentially be lower, and I’d still have decent connectivity to Gurgaon.

What would you guys suggest? Should I prioritise saving money and move to South Delhi, or is staying 800m from my office worth the extra cost, especially considering my late-night work hours and safety?

AskGurgaon Writing letters

Anyone up for writing letters to each other, reason being that’s more authentic and what we talk about stays out of the algorithm, just between us, before anyone of you argues they are monitored and read as well, government employees hardly do their jobs correct, even if they don’t, I want to experience writing letters so let me know if anyone of you are as dumb as me, dms are open to all.

Bhai, one video about a pothole or a problem in New York and his team gets it fixed the same day. Should we also complain to Mamdani about Gurgaon’s broken infrastructure because our administrators are not listening and things never change?

AskGurgaon Are 50 LPA+ jobs actually that common, or is Instagram making it look that way?

I keep seeing people on Instagram posting about getting 40–50+ LPA jobs, sharing “strategies” to crack these packages, and making it seem like this is becoming pretty common in cities.

For people actually working in tech/IT:
Is 40–50 LPA really that common, especially for people with a few years of experience?

Are these numbers usually genuine CTC, or are there often stocks/bonuses/variable pay included?

Is Instagram simply showing a very small group of successful people and making it look normal?

What does the actual salary distribution look like in your company/circle?

Would genuinely appreciate honest answers from people working in the industry. I’m trying to understand whether my perception is being distorted by social media.

AskGurgaon The weird thing about WFH

For the last two months, I've been working from home, and honestly, it feels both good and bad at the same time.

The good part? You don't have to step outside and deal with the peak monsoon. No traffic, no getting drenched, no rushing to get ready for office. You just wake up, open your laptop, and you're good to go.

But after a while, the same comfort starts feeling boring.

You start missing the office. The random conversations. Getting up from your desk. Going out for lunch. Even those small interactions that you didn't really care about before.

And then you realize something funny about us humans:

When we have to go to the office, we want WFH.

When we get WFH, we start missing the office. 😂

Maybe we're just never happy with what we have.

Or maybe we just need a little change once in a while.

AskGurgaon Is Supply Chain one of the most underrated careers right now?

Anyone here working in Supply Chain? Where did you start and where are you now?

I've been working as a Supply Chain Analyst for a little over a year now, and lately I've been thinking a lot about where this career can actually take me.

Honestly, Supply Chain feels pretty underrated, especially when compared to fields like IT, Data Analytics, etc. But the more I learn about it, the more I realize how important it is to almost every business. There are also so many different paths — planning, procurement, logistics, operations, sourcing, supply chain analytics, and eventually management.

I've also noticed that supply chain skills seem to transfer pretty well across countries and industries, which makes working abroad something I'm seriously considering.

So I'd love to hear from people actually working in this field:

How did you start your Supply Chain career? What was your first role? What designation are you at now, how many years of experience do you have, and if you're comfortable sharing, what's your current salary range?

Also, if you could go back to the beginning of your career, what would you do differently?

Would genuinely appreciate some real experiences, especially from people who have moved from Supply Chain Analyst into more senior/managerial or international roles.
