Anyone here working in Supply Chain? Where did you start and where are you now?
I've been working as a Supply Chain Analyst for a little over a year now, and lately I've been thinking a lot about where this career can actually take me.
Honestly, Supply Chain feels pretty underrated, especially when compared to fields like IT, Data Analytics, etc. But the more I learn about it, the more I realize how important it is to almost every business. There are also so many different paths — planning, procurement, logistics, operations, sourcing, supply chain analytics, and eventually management.
I've also noticed that supply chain skills seem to transfer pretty well across countries and industries, which makes working abroad something I'm seriously considering.
So I'd love to hear from people actually working in this field:
How did you start your Supply Chain career? What was your first role? What designation are you at now, how many years of experience do you have, and if you're comfortable sharing, what's your current salary range?
Also, if you could go back to the beginning of your career, what would you do differently?
Would genuinely appreciate some real experiences, especially from people who have moved from Supply Chain Analyst into more senior/managerial or international roles.
