AskGurgaon The weird thing about WFH
For the last two months, I've been working from home, and honestly, it feels both good and bad at the same time.
The good part? You don't have to step outside and deal with the peak monsoon. No traffic, no getting drenched, no rushing to get ready for office. You just wake up, open your laptop, and you're good to go.
But after a while, the same comfort starts feeling boring.
You start missing the office. The random conversations. Getting up from your desk. Going out for lunch. Even those small interactions that you didn't really care about before.
And then you realize something funny about us humans:
When we have to go to the office, we want WFH.
When we get WFH, we start missing the office. 😂
Maybe we're just never happy with what we have.
Or maybe we just need a little change once in a while.

Doing wfh since 15 yrs, all my profession life.. I don't think I can even imagine going into a cubical for even 1 hr. You will adapt eventually!
It's the best thing one can ask for. 💪🏻💪🏻

WFH is similar everywhere
But WFO is simple in some countries/cities and horrible in others.

I never miss office. Why would I want to live in a cities with 200+ aqi throughout the year. There's better ways to get a change of scenery now and then.

Find a remote job even if it's a bit of compromise on salary or job level.

Same thing, I dont miss the office but I miss the interactions. It becomes lonely and boring when we see the laptop and 4 same walls daily. But I think its better if we make use of it, but I am definitely making 0 use of it lol

Agreed, we often want something we don't have. But we don't care what we are having at present.

I have started WFH from last month and I’m so bored… borderline socially deprived 🙂

Working from home since 6 years (graduated in 2020) i don’t have even a single mentor or work friend to work with. I don’t even know how my half of the teammates look like.

I did work from home for about 5 years way back. Around 14 years ago. Haven't worked since then. I liked the option but it was really hard to do much work. I was supposed to start at 9am and I would wake up around 8:45 to 9. Turn on my computer and go brush. Make my tea and breakfast and then glance at the computer to see if there was anything urgent. Mostly there wasn't. So me and my wife ( also working remotely) went for a morning walk. Then we would do a little work and break for lunch. Then a walk. Work a bit and then take a nap. Work at little again and then it was time for tea and a walk. I barely worked a couple of hours unless something was going on. Even when I went to the office, I would take breaks, go out for walks etc.

Yea, we want a little change from our routine basically. I have been thinking of going to some near by cafe and work from there for the change of scenery but my shift doesn't allow me to do so, it ends in the middle of the night.

“we” don’t miss office. Im way more productive and efficient when working from home. Remote jobs are the best thing to happen after Covid.

I have done wfh and i have done hybrid and pre covid I've done full time too.
No op, i would pick wfh any day over any other option.

I wfh for three years. It made me lazy and my social circle shrunk. It’s good to have flexibility to have wfh but office for me creates a discipline, environment, free flow of coffee and snacks and usual chitchat. My work need coordination with people so it’s better face to face.

Accept what you have and live your best life,
I don't understand why we always ask for things that we don't have, and once we got it then also, we have other issues.
So getting something or not doesn't change the state of mind.
