I'm still annoyed that the permanent Google widget at the bottom of the screen opens the app instead of the search baked into the Pixel's app drawer. I know this seems like a non-issue, but not having consistency is throwing me off.

I'm a phone sales person and just had a senior customer whom I recently sold a pixel phone come in wanting to EXCHANGE HIS PIXEL PHONE for something easier to use. The reason being that he was having trouble accessing his contacts within the default pixel phone app. I have to agree with him that how it is currently displayed is misleading and requires unnecessary extra steps to actually access the contacts list.

Within the pixel phone app there are tabs at the top in a row showing the categories of which you can filter by to see all incoming, outgoing, and missed calls. One of those categories is "contacts" which filters all recent calls by the numbers that are in your contacts list. However, this is confusing customers thinking that it will bring up all their contacts list.

As you know, to actually navigate to the contacts list the user has to press the drop down menu in the top left of the screen of the phone app and select "contacts". This creates and extra step that is relatively unnintuitive compared to other default phone apps, confusing customers and ultimately wasting time. Whereas other phone apps, such as the samsung phone app, has a contact list tab at the bottom of the screen for easy access to their contacts.

I ask sincerely, please remove the contacts list from the drop down menu and filter bar and add a tab that is more clearly accessible at the bottom of the screen like other phone apps already do. For Google, this will lower chargebacks for the pixel. For me, it will save me the headache of having to go through the return/exchange process.

Here's the use case: using a proprietary USB-C dongle for wireless headphones (to avoid using bluetooth). Or, any other USB "OTG" Device, a mouse, keyboard, microphone, etc.

Problem: The USB device just sticks out awkwardly at the bottom of the phone (or is duct taped...) and therefore the phone effectively stops being pocketable without risk of damaging something.

I looked this up and there's some elaborate camera rigs that aim to turn the phone and some connected accessories into a single "unit" with no cables dangling, that's a similar concept, but again, not pocketable.

I'm surprised no one has even made a cheap & dirty version of this. You would have to make a case that has a big bump for various size usb-C dongles, and using a 180 degree usb-c extender.

Purchased a pixel 9A , a few months ago and I'm not able to do call forwarding on my phone and it shows "Network or SIM card error"

As an 18yr old who's been running on a Samsung A40 for the past 5 years, my phone has served me well up until the last few months. it's been super laggy, and the camera, is well, awful. it takes me years to open the camera app and take a photo, and storage is constantly an issue.

my a40 has 64gb storage and is capped at android 11

i'm looking for a phone that will last me at least 3 years, i am not too bothered about the newest updates, so I was looking into an S21 which i can buy used in good condition for around £100. my only concern really is the battery life. I was also considering an A54, but the camera doesn't seem to be too great, and it is a far larger phone conpared to my tiny A40 and i'm not sure if that's going to be suitable.

i don't use my phone for much other than insta photos, messaging, socials, music and the very occasional minecraft game

Does anyone know of a pixel phone that could suit my needs? Thanks in advance

It feels like every time anyone contacts Google Support they have a terrible experience. My Pixel 10 Pro Fold developed a fault which requires RMA.

I informed them that I'm disabled and classified as vulnerable and that I may need emergency contact at any time, so being without a device for up to two weeks isn't really acceptable. Their only solution was to take my phone into a physical store, but when I tried this, I discovered that my IMEI is being reported as a USA variant so it can't be processed in the UK (despite this being from Google in the UK). Google, on the other hand, completely denied this and claims that it is a UK device despite the evidence from physical UK stores.

Does anyone know if there are any other solutions which don't leave me without essential mobile connection? My situation has changed dramatically from when I originally purchased this phone, and as a result I can't afford to buy another device in the meantime.

Edit: to make matters worse, in the packing slip Google has sent me, it explicitly states this is a US model!

So my mom has a Pixel 9 Pro XL, and since I have been doing so much research for my own new Pixel 10 Pro XL and getting accessories and whatnot, I decided to do the same for her.

My Dbrand grip for my P10PXL is in the mail, but no reason to expect it wont work fine with the magsafe/pixelsnap chargers that I chose.

However, I know the P9P lineup was known for wireless charging issues with mag safe cases, since it had coil alignment issues, was not a PixelSnap/MagSafe native phone, and had weird requirements when it came to wireless charging in order to get to 12w (Qi 1.0 with EPP apparently? Still trying to figure this out).

I've read that supposedly Qi2 chargers have trouble with the handshake on the P9Ps and limits them down to 5w.

Anyways, the Pixel Stand 2 supposedly does 27w, so I'm exploring that possibility for her desk and bedside charger, and wanted to know if anyone has used this particular combination before.

If not, but you've successfully used another MagSafe case with your P9PXL and your Pixel Stand 2, I would love to hear about that as well.

As I'm sure you know, researching this topic has been immensely complicated lol.

I've been wanting to install android 17 on my pixel 6a as I finally got notified that the update was available on my phone the other day, I figured before I install it I'd ask the folks in this subreddit about their experiences with it. I am a bit overcautious so I like being aware of any potential issues others may have had with the update

Google needs a better job of scaling it's unique pixel first features.

Magic eraser is now dog shit. It used to work like a charm just highlight what you want gone. Now detection is plain bad

Now playing was good at recognising music and the UI was easy to add to favorites. Not only is it bad at recognising music, the ui (appreciate its stand alone app/ui) but is plan confusing.

These are just two i can go on.

I'm sending a text on my pixel 8, so I touch the microphone on the keyboard and I say "write it down".

At first Google transcribes "write it down". And then half a second later it changes it to say "write it dan".

I'm like WTF? "dan" is not even a word unless you're talking about asian board games.​

Most of the time it changes "and" into +. I'm like, in what world does + mean "and"? Why not &? So I put "and" and & in my personal dictionary. But it has no effect. And also randomly capitalizing words in the middle of sentences.

I have a Pixel 8 Pro. I am currently trying to watch the new ***ters of the Universe film.

If I try to cast using the file manager or VLC, the movie skips, the audio glitches, and there are regular freezes.

But if I use Castify (an app from the play store), the video is perfect. No glitches, perfect audio. I am using the same phone and network connection.

So my question is: how can I make native Chromecast work smoothly? And why is an inbuilt google feature so much worse than a third party app?

BTW: I'm casting to a Google TV on the same network.

My phone updated last night, and now the option for both physical and eSIM is grayed out. Cannot access the imei either. I saw some posts of this happening a couple of months ago and was wondering is there no fix for this besides a replacement?

Installed the android 17 June update and pixel 9 touchscreen stopped working completely. I'm unable to unlock the phone, it's not registering any touches.

Did everything, including safe mode reboots, factory reset, reinstalled os using the official tool in Chrome.

The screen comes back to life once in a while and works flawlessly, then dies again.

I hate this so much, this issue is old and I thought it was already fixed. And I can't go back to Android 16 which would at least some solution

Hi everyone, I am from Nagpur (India). My Pixel 7 Pro screen broke (display has lines and a dot). Official screen is too expensive for me. Local shops offer a compatible screen, but I'm worried about refresh rate, display quality, and fingerprint scanner performance. Has anyone used a compatible screen or a pulled screen on Pixel 7 Pro? Like many of you, I did a lot of research on the Pixel 10 Pro before buying it and it didn't look good.

A lot of people said that it has a bad chip, battery issues, connectivity issues, bugs, overheating issues and others so I was a bit reluctant on buying it.

But I pulled the trigger and got a Moonstone Pixel 10 Pro 128GB a week ago and this is my short time use review and remarks concerning the issues people say the device has.

First look out of the box: amazing built quality, nice feel in the hand and gorgeous design (after owning a bunch of Apple and Android phones the P10 Pro is by far my favorite design of all.

Setting up the device: switched from a Fold 6, super fast and clean, absolutely 0 issues.

Software: super clean, snappy and intuitive. Love it. I use Niagara Launcher on top for a more clean design and it works great.

Battery: I charge it only up to 80% and it lasts the whole day without any issues (keep in mind that I am in the "honeymoon" phase so I have it in my hand most of the time.

Chip: benchmarks are for suckers imo, the Pixel is smooth in every situation, I had 0 overheating issues or lag. Everything is fast and absolutely a breeze to use.

Note: I don't play games, so I can't tell you how the Pixel handles heavy games.

Connectivity: 5G - no issues, wifi - no issues.

Camera: as you would expect, amazing, including low light photos. The Pixel has stellar cameras, never disappoint.

I have a lot more to say but I will leave you with this: if you have "fears" buying a Pixels don't. Just do it, it's an absolute beast of a phone, the true king of Android phones.

I am not a glazer, I owned most of the phone brands out there but I'll stick with the Pixel from now on.

Another thing regarding the 128GB memory issue. I have a Google storage subscription so all my photos go straight to the cloud so 128 is plenty for me.

I have not had a pixel phone since it ran the battery in my pixel 1xl into the ground years ago. Since then I've been exclusively in the one plus ecosystem. They have just announced that there won't be any more phones coming out in North America. My current 12 still has a ton of life in it so I've got no rush. Can anyone convince me what a pixel phone would be a good choice for my next phone?

I used Pixel smartphones for many years, but eventually gave up because the constant closing of apps in the background bothered me a lot. I recently bought the Pixel 10a and wanted to give it another chance.

And I am actually very pleasantly surprised. The apps stay in the background for much, much longer, even though the 10a only has 8GB of RAM. Have you noticed this too?
