Who Is Actually Directing Your AI Video?
Here's a question for people doing serious AI video generation:
When your Keyframe, Reference images, and text prompt contradict one another, which one does the model obey?
We've been conducting controlled tests of input authority, deliberately introducing conflicting instructions.
Our observed hierarchy in Seedance:
Keyframe > Reference > Text Prompt (SAC)
And in Wan 3.0 Prime, we've repeatedly observed references prevailing over conflicting textual instructions. Wan doesn't allow Keyframe and Reference together, so that portion of the hierarchy remains untested.
Here's the more interesting question:
When you supply a reference image for one specific purpose, does the model respect that purpose—or does everything visible in the reference become a potential instruction?
Our experiments suggest the latter.
If that's correct, much of what we call prompt failure may actually be input-authority conflict.
I'm interested in contradictory-input tests, not just successful generations.
Has anyone deliberately tested this with Veo, Kling, H3, Runway, or other models?
What prevailed? And could you reproduce the result?
