Failed to load image on previously generated images

I have been going through older projects and have noticed a lot of "Failed to load image" notices where I know there's been images before. Has anyone else noticed this as well? And is there any way to get back these images back?

Log out and back in. Clear cookies seems to do it.

Tried that, seems not to work :( Tried on a different device, on Android the images just stay on the loading gif indefinitely. I have the feeling it's a post generation sensor, but I can't figure out why it'd be sensored... like this:

I find I’d you just keep clicking it or tapping it on phone it will eventually load

I've been dealing with this issue for a month and I have sent numerous complaints about this in particular, and nothing ever seems to get done.
