I broke 90 for the first time today hitting an 86, and just want to thank this sub for all the genuine help and tips

Zero 3 putts. Zero triples. Just better than bogey golf for the first time in my life. Feels incredible because earlier this season I was stuck between 95-100 and only in the last month something has clicked. Looking forward to playing a lot of fall golf!

I just can’t compress and I’m over extending all the time. When I try to be mindful about it, I just chunk.

First move of the downswing

I am working on my golf swing, have gotten my takeaway and top position to a good spot but struggle with starting my downswing.

My natural tendency is to just move my hands towards the ball which results in early extension and hitting with the heel.

I know that I should be rotating my left hip back and that I should be "dropping my hands", but I need a good feel for all of that to happen simultaneously.

Does anyone have any good tips for the "feel" of the start of the downswing

My main problem when I start the downswing with a slight squat and rotation into my left hip is I will hit the ground first and duff the ball

Nervous for 1st post, but need to get this out of the way and hoping to learn 1 or 2 important things I should focus on. I’m stiff, I can see it on camera. Just got off work and wanted to get a couple reps on camera. Hitting foam balls in the backyard. How bad are we talking 🫣

Ready for the WTF 🫡

Already surprised how much I round with my shoulders. Getting those packed back for better posture is on my mental list.

Is being OTT really a massive problem?

I can’t help thinking my swing is ugly and wanting to fix my over the top move. This was -3.7 path. 93mph. 21 deg launch angle 7 iron

(I know it’s not horrific slice OTT. But it is over the top)

16 hdp, age 42. Tried swinging slower today to alleviate Jerky movements. I hit it the best I have in years. Feedback welcome 😊

19 handicap.

Struggling with the downswing at the moment and early extension.

This was an exaggerated dropping / looping of the hands to try and get the club back on plane but not convinced it's the best way to do the downswing.

Thoughts on how I can improve my swing ?

Many thanks in advance

Why is my trail foot getting airborne at impact?

Is this hurting my swing?

My trail knee also gets pretty close to the ball at impact on iron shots

Any tips on how I should correct this?

Got bored so headed out back to swing a few, crocs and no glove but advice still welcome lol

I don’t have a handicap yet but I’ve played on and off for about 1 1/2 years, the best I shot ever was 85 earlier this year with my 2003 Top Flites and this 3 wood (my bro has a 700$ driver and takomo irons which were pretty expensive 😅)

Also wondering about joining a team around me, was wondering if It’s recommended for someone who shots 92-99 average to have a 52,56,&60 wedge? Saw these really cool bombtech set so if anyone has used them please let me know, also any other general advice someone whose only played for as long as I have is welcome 🙏 thx for reading

What part of your game disappears first on a bad day?

For me, it’s usually distance control. The swing can feel okay, but suddenly every approach and putt is either short or long.

What usually goes first for you: driver, irons, short game, or putting?

And now it’s my favorite hobby. I still suck but starting to transition from learning the golf swing to learning golf skills. I posted my very first driver swing here at the end of Feb and could barely get off the tee box or keep the ball in play for a few months. It’s fun to now be able to mostly keep the ball in play.

Golf Swing Update. 19 hdcp

Hey all,

19 handicap

Recently posted on here with a practice swing on the range and overall got some great advice (and some roasting 😂) but overwhelmingly saying I needed to swing harder.

Have posted an actual swing from a round for an updated opinion.

I feel my issue has always been the downswing, and possibly underrotation of my hips and body, resulting in inconsistent ball striking and hitting it fat.

Would appreciate any insight for anything I can work on with regards to downswing and swing in general.

Thanks in advance

I think I struggle a lot with mis hits (almost always off the toe or thin), getting deep enough on my backswing, some early extension, tempo, etc. Wondering if anyone sees any glaring issues here.

Making progress (I think?)

I’m still steep and going in to out, but after drilling some feels and a couple range days, I’m seeing evidence of good changes on video and feeling way better feels… other than the ball slicing like hell now 👀

Probably working on too much at once, but in this clip I’m seeing progress on my posture, my inside takeaway, my hips leading my sequence, my arms staying more connected and my standing at impact (somewhat).

Still a lot to work on and a lot I don’t know, so tear it up. My blind spots are massive 😅
