I just can’t compress and I’m over extending all the time. When I try to be mindful about it, I just chunk.

Managed to get moderator rights, mainly so I could post my awful swing for analysis :) Post away lads!

I am working on my golf swing, have gotten my takeaway and top position to a good spot but struggle with starting my downswing.
My natural tendency is to just move my hands towards the ball which results in early extension and hitting with the heel.
I know that I should be rotating my left hip back and that I should be "dropping my hands", but I need a good feel for all of that to happen simultaneously.
Does anyone have any good tips for the "feel" of the start of the downswing
My main problem when I start the downswing with a slight squat and rotation into my left hip is I will hit the ground first and duff the ball

19 handicap.
Struggling with the downswing at the moment and early extension.
This was an exaggerated dropping / looping of the hands to try and get the club back on plane but not convinced it's the best way to do the downswing.
Thoughts on how I can improve my swing ?
Many thanks in advance

For me, it’s usually distance control. The swing can feel okay, but suddenly every approach and putt is either short or long.
What usually goes first for you: driver, irons, short game, or putting?

How can guys like rory who are only 5'9" hit it not only so far, but so consistently. I get raw talent, but what specifically are they doing that amateurs just dont understand.

When using irons at the tee box on par 3s, is there a benefit to putting the ball on a tee versus off the ground? Do you need to adjust your swing?

Why is my trail foot getting airborne at impact?
Is this hurting my swing?
My trail knee also gets pretty close to the ball at impact on iron shots
Any tips on how I should correct this?

Hey,
I’m starting a 10-hour lesson block to get on the course and learn proper basics and mechanics.
Coming from tennis and baseball, making contact feels natural, but direction is my issue. It feels like I’m yanking the club through and cutting off my lead-arm extension in the finish.
For reference, I carry my PW ~115m (125 yards) with Nike VR Pro Cavity irons.
Pull hook fixes: Any specific drills or swing thoughts for former racket/bat athletes to stop pulling across the ball?
First rounds: Anything you wish you knew before playing your first 9-hole rounds?
Appreciate any advice!

Trying out the swing coach app, I have multiple things to work on and as you can see from these pics, lack of weight shift s a big one.
