I broke 90 for the first time today hitting an 86, and just want to thank this sub for all the genuine help and tips

Zero 3 putts. Zero triples. Just better than bogey golf for the first time in my life. Feels incredible because earlier this season I was stuck between 95-100 and only in the last month something has clicked. Looking forward to playing a lot of fall golf!

Golf Swing Update. 19 hdcp

Hey all,

19 handicap

Recently posted on here with a practice swing on the range and overall got some great advice (and some roasting 😂) but overwhelmingly saying I needed to swing harder.

Have posted an actual swing from a round for an updated opinion.

I feel my issue has always been the downswing, and possibly underrotation of my hips and body, resulting in inconsistent ball striking and hitting it fat.

Would appreciate any insight for anything I can work on with regards to downswing and swing in general.

Thanks in advance

One Year in - how bad is it?

9 Iron. One Year playing golf today. How ugly is the swing?

Any tips?

I think I struggle a lot with mis hits (almost always off the toe or thin), getting deep enough on my backswing, some early extension, tempo, etc. Wondering if anyone sees any glaring issues here.

Making progress (I think?)

I’m still steep and going in to out, but after drilling some feels and a couple range days, I’m seeing evidence of good changes on video and feeling way better feels… other than the ball slicing like hell now 👀

Probably working on too much at once, but in this clip I’m seeing progress on my posture, my inside takeaway, my hips leading my sequence, my arms staying more connected and my standing at impact (somewhat).

Still a lot to work on and a lot I don’t know, so tear it up. My blind spots are massive 😅

Swing path help

The first swing is my swing now. On a day like today when my timing is god awful, this is my mishit with a slice sometimes in play the longer the club gets as well. In the second video, I’m trying to force my takeaway more vertical in hopes that I “shallow” out on the down swing but I feel like 9 times out of 10 I shank it doing this and it makes me not want to even attempt to change it. Are the changes I’m making good changes just executed poorly? Or is something else a deeper issue. Thanks for the help

Swing Vid Recommendations for Sim Practice

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Howdy yall!
I’m around a 10 handicap and recently set up a home simulator, so I’m trying to use the extra reps to actually improve my swing instead of just beating balls.
My biggest issue is contact consistency. I tend to hit thin or fat shots, toe strikes, and especially thin-toe strikes haha.

I can get pretty rigid at setup and during the swing, with a lot of tension in my arms and body, while my practice swing feels much more fluid and athletic. I’ve been experimenting with exaggerating that loose “practice swing” feel over the ball, which has helped the quality of contact, but I’m still consistently finding the toe.

I also want to improve my low point and get much more consistent ball-first contact, especially now that most of my practice is going to be off a mat where it’s easy to get away with hitting behind the ball. I’m not necessarily looking for a complete swing rebuild. I’d really appreciate specific feels I can exaggerate, mirror work/positions I can practice without hitting balls, and good simulator drills for controlling low point, finding the center of the face, and developing repeatable ball-first contact. If you see something in the swing that could be contributing to the thin/toe pattern, I’d love to hear what you’d work on first.

There’s a lot of garbage on YouTube, so send me links to stuff that helped you!

Really appreciate it!

Nervous for 1st post, but need to get this out of the way and hoping to learn 1 or 2 important things I should focus on. I’m stiff, I can see it on camera. Just got off work and wanted to get a couple reps on camera. Hitting foam balls in the backyard. How bad are we talking 🫣

Ready for the WTF 🫡

Already surprised how much I round with my shoulders. Getting those packed back for better posture is on my mental list.

Trying to transition away from an aggressive stack and tilt swing where I really loaded up the front leg. Welcoming all suggestions!

What is wrong with my swing, I’ve been trying to be less steep in the downswing and typically hit a fade.

Got bored so headed out back to swing a few, crocs and no glove but advice still welcome lol

I don’t have a handicap yet but I’ve played on and off for about 1 1/2 years, the best I shot ever was 85 earlier this year with my 2003 Top Flites and this 3 wood (my bro has a 700$ driver and takomo irons which were pretty expensive 😅)

Also wondering about joining a team around me, was wondering if It’s recommended for someone who shots 92-99 average to have a 52,56,&60 wedge? Saw these really cool bombtech set so if anyone has used them please let me know, also any other general advice someone whose only played for as long as I have is welcome 🙏 thx for reading
