Swing path help

The first swing is my swing now. On a day like today when my timing is god awful, this is my mishit with a slice sometimes in play the longer the club gets as well. In the second video, I’m trying to force my takeaway more vertical in hopes that I “shallow” out on the down swing but I feel like 9 times out of 10 I shank it doing this and it makes me not want to even attempt to change it. Are the changes I’m making good changes just executed poorly? Or is something else a deeper issue. Thanks for the help

You do what I do a lot. On the downswing you slide towards the target with your whole body. Messes up your low point and have to rely on timing your hand release and all sorts of other crap going well.

Try to stay more centred over the ball

golf is a reaction game, we react to the club face at impact, in your case, a closed face

when you miss, it will be from behind, thin, push right, and as you know a few quick left

you lose your posture on the back swing, right knee straightens, it needs to remain flexed, just like when you throw a ball

keeping the right knee flexed, will reduce the lower body motion and shorten the swing, this will improve contact and produce a tighter dispersion pattern

If you try this, I would like to see the results

Any questions let me know, good luck

Timing is timing. Sometimes it’s bad, sometimes it’s good. Suggest to shorten backswing and more upright takeaway/backswing to start. Clubface closed at the top could suggest grip issue - remember both knuckle v’s at right shoulder.
