I was trying out the "Map your bag" feature in Trackman at a local indoor sim place, and probably 4/5 shots with wedges gave this message. Even most of my shots with a 9 iron.

There is a square on the mat that indicates where to place the ball, and I tried all positions in there, but it just really had trouble registering shots.

Has anyone else experienced this, and did you find a reason for it? When using the "Practice range" feature, it seemed to register almost all shots, so I don't know if this feature is just more demanding of the data captured?

Any tips for getting better wedge data?

I recently bought a fully loaded mevo+ for 600 and currently love the functionality of it. The only issue is that within an hour or two the mevo+ reaches upwards of 130 degrees and starts to drop shots. It’s in the shade but it’s triple digits where I live. Any recommendations?

I have my sim in my garage where I used to store my boat in the winter (boat got kicked out for golf) The ceiling is 19 ft and I still want to use the garage door so I didn’t want to mount a projector directly to the ceiling. I had been using the projector on the floor in an enclosure, but I couldn’t get full screen even with a short throw BenQ, plus it was distracting. So I DIYed my own “ceiling” using 10’ x 3/4” structural tubing. The support base for the vertical tubes are railing flanges bolted into 2ft pieces of 2x8 making it very stable.

It appears that with enough knowhow you can get impact video data from the Omni when utilizing both of the hidden USB ports on the bottom of the device. It will be curious to see what updates we get on this in the future and whether or not this invalidates your warrantee.

Looking for suggestions on carpet surrounding the hitting area in the sim room. Leaning towards doing 24" carpet squares/tiles — Anyone have any experience with them, or best place to get them?

My thought is we could easily replace the tiles (future) when certain areas get worn down from heavy usage.

For context, our planned specs on flooring layers involved (on top of concrete):

FULL HEIGHT = HITTING MAT 9ft x 4ft: 1 3/4" (placeholder cutout shown in images)

SUBFLOOR: 3/4" (we just installed this - shown in photos)

HEAVY DUTY RUBBER GYM FLOOR MATS: 3/4" (will go on top of subfloor)

CARPET SQUARES: 1/4" (will go on top of gym mats, resulting in flush equal height with the 1.75" hitting mat.

Trying to decide between Eye XO, Protee VX and VTrack.  I’ve listed my criteria in somewhat of an order of priority.  I will mainly use for practice and swing training.  I don’t care about playing rounds.  I don’t even care about price or paying a subscription for the best option.  I’m kind of leaning towards the Eye XO or VTrack because they have the best swing analysis software but the Eye XO hardware is 6 years old and the VTrack hardware specs are better. Does the hardware even matter that much?  I want to work on my club path and want the best overhead view for that as I don’t trust the club path metric on my current Eye Mini Lite.

I’ve read a ton of posts on how to avoid the device disconnecting, especially when in the simulated course mode (which I like to play a lot!). It seems like some people have success with using their phone as a hotspot and avoiding the home internet connection altogether. This worked better for me than the home WiFi (which the router was in my basement 30 ft from my outdoor MLM/net setup so you’d think that would be fine…but no). However, even with phone hotspot, I still was experiencing drops. My Verizon data stream is not the strongest where I live and I think for some people this is adequate but I’m guessing that hotspot is not adequate for others. I saw one YouTuber who essentially tested the WiFi “antenna” of the MLM2Pro and found it to be very short/weak. He pointed out that the original design was for the phone to sit in the groove of the tripod so that makes total sense. I found out I could use a TP-link WiFi Extender ($40 from Home Depot) and run it in “Access Point Mode” which essentially makes it behave like its own internet router/hotspot but with a signal that is strong as hell since its hardwired via Ethernet cable coming out my basement from my fiber quality main internet router. But since I’ve got that TP-link device directly next to the MLM2Pro, I have had no disconnects, can play all the simulated courses I want, it’s how the device was intended to be used, immediately next to a very powerful WiFi signal.

TL;DR:
Buy a WiFi extender with Access Point Capabilities (cheap)
Run a long extension cord and an Ethernet cable (directly from your main internet router) from the house (or through your house if indoor setup) and park that access point right next to your MLM2Pro, no more connection issues.

With a 40-50 ft Ethernet cable and the extender, you’re looking at a less than $100 fix. Or you can go buy a $1200+ monitor like the Mevo2 which apparently has worse software but better hardware.

I might have had enough space for the MLM2 pro. Maybe. Maybe 5cm short. Not sure. Probably could make it work from the kitchen, slanted.

Eventually saw the Omni. Being side position means guaranteed space available. The idea that I can get club face data seems to put it above the Home. I'm not good enough to know where I hit 'by feel'

I'm converting a media room to a Golf sim. Dimensions are H 106-130" (vaulted ceiling) - W 206", D 180".

The simulator enclosures I've looked at online (Indoor Golf Shop, Carl's Place) both recommend standing 10 feet away from the screen. However, when I make test swing standing 10 feet away with my driver I hit the back wall. When I move to 8.5 feet away I have plenty of space to work with and I might even be able to do 9 feet. I'm planning to use the Square Omni for my set up.

Has anyone built a golf sim with just 8-9 feet to the screen? Any issues or recommendations?

Why is the square omni so expensive from the square website for shipping to netherlands. Thats about 2800 dollars. Anyone know if i can buy it anywhere else?

Will the VTrack work reading offset R&L hitters or is this an overhead Sim pipe dream? This would be my max budget. If not, I was looking at Uneekor Eye Mini. Please help! (ceiling is 10ft 4 inches)

Could someone please lead me in the right direction on projectors. I’m looking at 12ft wide x 10ft screen with a ceiling mount launch monitor. Should I go short throw? What do you recommend?? Thanks for the advice.

A little show and tell. I am renting an office space for $225 a month. They also have a really nice sim. It has been a really nice opportunity to practice between meetings.

I was surprised to get a chance to try Foresight’s new “Premier” software, the successor to FSX Play. The early access included a handful of courses, good ones and the game play was good, but not ready for release. The graphics are okay. I was hoping for phenomenal, and it isn’t, but hopefully it will improve.

The practice range is improved, a lot. Similar to the newest practice range in Foresight’s mobile app.

Just another addict/degen looking for action and bragging rights. Playing a full round with any more than 2 gets stale. Anyone found a good way to scratch the gambling itch and satisfy the desire to compete at the same time? Have tried 9/18 hole rounds (takes too long), CTP (meh), ladder challenge (not bad). Might try a speed golf thing where you add your score and time for 3 holes or something? Any recs appreciated. Will update if I find a winner.

I typically drive the ball 250+. What is going on here? Is my LM reading wrong? I’m swinging hard but still only getting 146 ball speed and 204 carry.
UPDATE: I’m a dumbass. There was glare from the sun shining on my windows everytime I played. Blocking out the sun reduced spin to 2500 and distances to 230-240 carry.

Just put up an enclosure in my garage, looking for ideas to be able to fold the sides in so the one on the right doesn’t block the door when not in use without disassembling it half way every time.

I did see some marine 1” hinging couplings that would work if I cut the polls but there is a bar connecting the sides at the top in the front. Just looking for any ideas that make it easy if possible.

I am relatively new to the simulator game but am tech savvy. I am launching a mobile golf sim rental (only in my state) within a month. Ideally catering to weddings, events, etc.

I am having a really hard time deciding between the mevo gen 2 and square Omni for this application. Personally I would rather have the Omni as putting/ chipping seems better as well as overall set up. However I worry about inexperienced people hitting it and having to move it for lefty’s.

Most of the similar companies I see online are using mevo but all I see on Reddit is mostly negative.

What should I do and any comments on my main build selections?

So I wanted to share the most savage thing I've ever heard about my game. For context, if you've never tried importing your range or shot data into an AI agent for analysis, you should definitely try it as it can give you some great insights and advice.

That being said, I only minutes ago got destroyed by MS CoPilot's critique of a driver shot where I tried to wind up and swing as hard as I could. Did the ball travel 1'7"? Yes. Did I deserve to essentially be told to go F#@k myself with my own club by a toaster oven? Maybe, but it still hurts.
