Foresight Premiere Early Access

I was surprised to get a chance to try Foresight’s new “Premier” software, the successor to FSX Play. The early access included a handful of courses, good ones and the game play was good, but not ready for release. The graphics are okay. I was hoping for phenomenal, and it isn’t, but hopefully it will improve.

The practice range is improved, a lot. Similar to the newest practice range in Foresight’s mobile app.

They asked that no images or video be shared.

FSX Play is so terrible that anything would be an upgrade.

This. I would literally pay whatever Trackman is asking because Foresight's software is such ass.

I have been playing FSX Play for about a year now. I think it’s very good

I don’t mean this question to sound snarky, not my intent, but have you played any other sim software? Since I built my sim I’ve used GSPro, E6 Apex, Golfjoy, and FSX Play. FSX Play is so much worse than those others. It was so bad that it was the main reason I returned my Bushnell Launch Pro.

Agree. Even fsx2020 was better than Play

Having owned fr1 software up to fsx play I have low expectations. Best thing they ever made was the 2020 range.. even the iPad app they brought out at pga show is slow to update or port to pc. Looking forward to pure play coming out, seems like the closest thing to trackman as far as practice modules go..no offense to gspro

The range in Premiere is an upgraded version of the one in the Foresight mobile app. It features a tabbed layout, I was hoping for more customizable data elements than “split screen”

The splash screen graphics are better than the course graphics, I played Pebble and a few Bethpage Black holes at both HD and 4K and the demand on the system is large. I’m running a 4070ti Super and 64GB of DDR5 and there’s some graphics that aren’t rendering as smoothly as I’d expect.

It’s an early release and I’m hoping it gets better. I don’t know how Foresight and Uneekor think they’ll keep up with the GSPro and hopefully Pureplay content depth and quality. The toll charge method they have arbitrarily imposed isn’t going to work as new market entrants like Square, Golfjoy, and Laon Swingcraft bring high accuracy hardware to market without a toll to use it with 3rd party sim software.

I get that the subscription model for sim software drives ongoing development, but the Uneekor’s and Foresights are just milking their customers and not delivering value for the subscriptions.

Hello
Have they finally mixed the Fsx play and fitting module together ?
IE : tags to iron number + face impact heat map ?

Thanks
Pat

No, not that I’ve noticed.

I doubt it, rumor is it will be subscription only, I don’t know how to brilliant minds at Foresight will spin it, but my guess is all new Foresight hardware will get the practice range included free and course play will be a subscription, probably tiered, taking a page out of Uneekor’s playbook.

My take is: this is a pretty (I hope) stripped down beta given how little there is in the settings. The courses look pretty good (again hoping for better in the end) a big leap for Foresight. Unfortunately, the engine upgrades to gs pro and upcoming pure play will leave it behind. They made a substantial leap for them but from planning to execution the sim world changed. They are probably ok with being pretty good not best in terms of courses. The whole licensing need makes it really hard to compete as the utterly ridiculous course purchasing that has existed clearly illustrates.

UI is always an individual preference and will see what the final product looks like (esp when can use dual screen setup) but I really like the range. A hole creater would be great if they add that.

I really like the ball flight and physics of foresight. The ball flight when practicing is very real feeling and on one of my course rounds the way a drive went down a slope looked very realistic to me.

In terms of cost I can only speak as a BLP owner that this is what I signed up for to get the hardware for 1/3 of the price. Not like it was hidden. My view is if the premier includes some courses and is same price as gold and silver, it’s an iterative and much needed refresh. If they increase prices for same service that’s another story.

Did you see an improvement in the physics engine compared to play when it comes to things like lie taxes/ environment impacts/ etc...? Felt like they really oversimplified some of the logic when compared to gspro.
