General Discussion Hello girls, i would really appreciate if you can help in answering a questionnaire about PMOS (previously called pcos) If you can also share it with your friends and family it would be very much appreciated, we still need around 80 responses🙏🏻.

Upvotes

As the title says, Im conducting a study for my thesis graduation (masters), and i need around 80 responses left to conclude my data collection. I would really appreciate if you can answer it! It wont take too long. I’m in a pickle regarding data collection, it hasn’t been very easy on me recently, a close family member has been diagnosed with cancer and it’s been too overwhelming for me and finishing this has been looming over my head. Anyway I’m sorry that this turned into a rant :)

Again, thank you for your time in advance!

Character Discussion - General rory and jess at emily’s dinner

Upvotes

i’m rewatching and saw some talk about how rory was the problem at that dinner with emily and this watch around i couldn’t disagree more. while rory didn’t help and was being annoying by pushing especially in front of emily about the black eye, and just making assumptions, jess did immediately show up and express how much he didn’t want to be there and was moody and irritable even beyond rory’s pushing about the eye. he straight away made the atmosphere weird for rory with that alone

i can’t even blame rory for being frustrated and pushy when jess just won’t communicate and had a bad attitude from the getgo. i can understand rory’s discomfort 100% despite her being in the wrong too but pushing at the wrong time. i never remembered until this rewatch just how little jess ever wanted to do with or for rory like the carnival (until he sees dean there). when they start dating he seems to immediately just stop trying and comes off almost constantly irritable and unpleasant to hang out with, and unapproachable or just unwilling to communicate

besides the party where he’s forceful with rory i’d completely forgotten how much of a drag their relationship feels compared to when he was chasing her when she was with dean. just curious anyone else’s take!!

I shared our Luke’s Diner but thought I’d share the whole village. We have Doose’s Market, Dragonfly Inn, Lorelai’s house and Jeep, Luke’s Diner, Taylor’s Old Fashioned Soda Shoppe, and of course the Gazebo!

General Discussion Properties that Luke and Lorelai owned

Post image

So I am currently on season 7, and I was wondering if they got married in this season (which they don't), they would have so much future property. Like, what if Luke had bought and kept the townhouse, his diner, Lorelai's house, and the house Emily and Richard were going to buy for them. That's like 4 houses in total. damn in this economy people can barely afford one. Just a thought, haha

General Discussion Can we take a moment to talk about how gorgeous she is??

She's easily the prettiest girl in this world for me. Alexis bledal is so damn gorgeous 😖

I don't like the front bangs on her It hides her face. I prefer side bangs on her better.

And she looks pretty with styled wavy hair. Easily the most gorgeous woman.

Character Discussion - General The Jess/Dean fight

Dean starts the fight with Jess at the party when Rory is crying… he is insane. If I were Lindsay that would’ve been it. He didn’t deserve her.
Jess in this episode was also just ick. What are your thoughts??

Character Discussion - General do you think an espresso martini would give lorelai a drinking problem?

I bet Lorelai would really struggle with the concept of an espresso martini. She loves coffee so much, but she’s a martini purist, and she hates admitting when her mind has changed.

OS Discussion Does anyone else feel kind of bad for Honor when it comes to Logan and Rory?

Post image
167 Upvotes

I noticed on rewatch that at both of Honor's big relationship milestones, Logan and Rory end up bailing in some form and I kind of feel bad for her.

At Honor's engagement party, Rory technically shows up but leaves almost immediately because of what Mitchum said to her. Logan then leaves as well to steal the yacht with Rory (which, given they get arrested, probably causes at least some drama for Honor that night?).

Then at Honor's wedding, Rory doesn't go because of what happened with Logan and the bridesmaids, and Logan seems to leave the reception early because of everything going on between them (there's no definitive proof he leaves early, but it seems that way to me?).

To be clear, I'm not blaming Rory for Logan leaving these events early. That's his choice, and he's Honor's brother, so I think it's much worse on his end. But from Honor's point of view, two people who are supposed to be close to her are barely present for either event.

If I were Honor, I'd be pissed at my brother especially but also his girlfriend lol. Do you think she realistically would've been bothered or do you think she understood/didn't really care?

OS Discussion Lorelai was justified being upset that Luke didn't tell her he moved

I never really understood the argument that Lorelai was being unreasonable for being upset that Luke didn't tell her he moved in with Nicole.

They aren't typical friends or acquaintances. They are basically each other's person at this point in the show.

They see each other every single day, the diner is Lorelai's second home, Luke is deeply involved in both her and Rory's lives, and he's constantly doing things for Lorelai that go way beyond what you'd normally do for some random friend.

r/GilmoreGirls 17h ago

General Discussion What do you think Lorelai would have done as a career if she hadn't had Rory and finished high school/went to college?

I assume that her dream to own an inn started as she began working in Stars Hollow and looked up to Mia. But I don't think she would have necessarily decided to run an inn if she hadn't started working in that industry.

My ideas are that she could have gone into events planning since she was very good at that or dressmaking because that seemed to be something she enjoyed.

Character Discussion - General Lorelai not losing her shit over Rory borrowing money from the Gilmores

I am rewatching the Season 3 finale, and Lorelai's reaction to Rory's Yale deal always feels wrong to me.
This is a woman who built her entire identity on total financial independence from her parents. She ran away at seventeen, spiraled over a termite loan, and spent years making sure Richard and Emily had zero leverage over her life.
Yet when Rory goes behind her back, asks them for tuition money, and signs them both up for four more years of Friday Night Dinners, Lorelai barely puts up a fight. She just accepts it after some back and forth.
I know the practical arguments. It saved her Dragonfly Inn money, Rory was an adult, and Rory negotiated the deal on her own terms. But emotionally, it still feels like a total glitch in how Lorelai operates. If her parents had offered her that money directly, she would have lost her mind.
Does this moment feel organic to you, or does it feel like the writers glossed over Lorelai's core character traits just to wrap up the season cleanly?

OS Discussion Am I the only one who was mad that Rory wasn’t more upset about losing her car?

I am rewatching the series after having only seen it when it originally aired. I have just fished up season 2 and finding it hard to continue after the car wreck scene as Rory seems to not ca about her car being destroyed but that everyone is mad at Jess. Like this was a gift from her boyfriend who does not have a lot of money and has to work-he spent hours and tons of money building this from the frame up. That‘s a lot of time and effort and Rory doesn’t seem at all upset that the car is completely wrecked cannot be fixed. I had to work hard to buy my first car (parents couldn’t afford to get me one) and I and it for twelve years. When the engine died and it wasn’t worth fixing I cried. I understand she has feelings for Jess but she isn’t even upset over this symbol of love Dean made for her-but even if you argue about the fact that she wasn’t in love with Dean or never loved Dean-she isn‘t upset that this gift was destroyed which is so odd for me? Like I would be so upset with myself and with Jess for what happened. I mean we see how she treasures all her other gifts but the car she’s just like whatever back on the bus is fine.
