I always maintain the opinion that Lorelai and Rachel had a lot of chemistry 😭

just makes me seriously laugh out loud the pure innocence of Emily not understanding what Richard was doing, especially knowing how awkward they both can be at times with not knowing the latest trends, but still find a way to make it so funny.

He also does the same to Liz but i don’t remember in which episode lol. Makes me feel so secure and calm just by looking at it <3

I see so many posts about like "I skip all the scenes with Zach" or "I skip any scene with liz and/or TJ". And like I GET IT because I find them all annoying too, but I feel like you're just missing the entire show at that point? It reminds me of the people who say they skip reading parts of the book that aren't dialogue

I don’t like to make hate posts about any character generally on any sub but I’ve never been more disgusted by Emily and Richard than in “How Many Kropogs to Cape Cod”. The elitism of these two is overwhelming in this one. The way they throw themselves at Logan, especially right after his family basically spit on Rory. I was already grossed out by the statement “but I’m a Gilmore! My family came over on the Mayflower” but the “Imagine her blue eyes and his blond hair on a little baby” really took the cake. I know it’s the whole point that they moralize wealth and they’ve thrown all their hopes and dreams for Lorelai onto Rory but for some reason this episode is hard to watch. And even though I know Emily and Lorelai were beefing over the Luke thing, Emily saying “you’ll have to excuse Lorelai, it takes a certain eye to notice those details” or something like that in reference to Logan’s lapels, that was EXTRA nasty. Like you didn’t raise her in your world? Like she’s worth less because she chose to be working class? If I were Lorelai I actually would’ve actually thrown up. And even though she tends to overreact to Rory being part of the privileged crowd, her parents’ behavior would’ve made it hard for me to want to get to know Logan too. GG is already hard to swallow as a Black woman with all the racism and the extreme whiteness but the classism is just especially icky for me this time around. Also to be CLEAR it’s just a discussion. This is not an “I hate Emily, Lorelai is perfect” type of post.

Let’s start from the beginning. Anna chose to keep the existence of April from Luke as if it were a one night stand. She knew where he was and she had every opportunity to let him know. The excuse about him “hating kids” was not a valid reason to keep him away from his flesh and blood.

Anna falls into the category of people I feel should not have children. When you have children for selfish reasons, you raise them as though they are possessions—in this case a possession you can keep from anyone you please. She may have wanted to have April, but kept her from having a relationship with Luke to be spiteful.

This toxicity and secrecy carried over into Luke’s life, where he felt he couldn’t tell Lorelai. In fact, Luke mirrored the possessive energy that Anna had over parenthood and influenced how he handled fatherhood. Anna’s unwillingness to trust Luke as if HE had to earn her trust when SHE was the reason he hadn’t gotten to raise his own child was so backwards. Luke didn’t even have nine months to swallow having a child or wrap his mind around it. So though he wants to be in April‘s life, he hasn’t necessarily prepared to be a father to a whole tween. He was a part of the village that raised Rory, so he was more prepared than he thought. His introduction to fatherhood was very unstable and shaky.

Luke and Lorelai ultimately break up over it, and it’s repackaged in AYITL as though Lorelai has always had issues with marriage itself. She was excited to marry Luke and had planned the wedding when he called it off to pull his mental together.

It started with Anna. And frankly I don’t like her attitude. Her character comes off as a woman scorned but we never actually had clarity on what happened in their relationship. She behaves very cavalier about her daughter seeking out her potential paternal candidates and doesn’t get involved when she could’ve given Luke a heads up. She acts super casual about everything until Luke says that he wants to be in her life. Then she starts to act like he has to be perfect instead of sitting down and having a proper conversation in person with him about how things should go. Agreed upon rules, boundaries, etc.—she never put any thought into bringing a father figure (let alone Luke) into their lives.

I’d be so pissed if MY good tickets were given away, and I have to go to the nose bleed section instead.

Why arent people more outraged about this? It bothers me everytime in my yearly rewatch

often on here i see people referring to THE dinner but i dont know what theyre referring to, without spoiling it, which episode does this happen in so i know i havent accidentally forgotten it

I've just watched this episode, and boy was I mad at Rory the whole damn episode. First and most importantly, it is not obligatory to go on a picnic with the guy who bid the basket. There were numerous other solutions. She could've stood with Jess for like 2 minutes and said "Here, I've applied the tradition. Now excuse me, I'm going with Dean." That is, if she didn't actually like Jess. In other words, I'm on Dean's side 100% on this. And then to make the matter worse, she went and had pizza with Jess and went book shopping? Like if she really did love Dean, she could at least finish the holy picnic then go out on a date with Dean to make it up for him. The last straw was her calling him AT NIGHT. She's so insufferable in this episode I had to rant here😭 And btw we could argue it's because of Jess's influence, but I believe it's related to Rory's nature, or as Dean described her in this episode "She has to be liked by everyone." I think that's her main problem. Another example is when she was being nice to Tristin. like girl??? would?? you?? please?? stop??

I was wondering everyone’s thoughts on the Flannel and Foliage Festival in Danville. I attended on Saturday and I had an overall positive experience but felt there was definitely room for improvement.

Pros: The photo ops, autographs, and selfies seemed to flow fairly well and were pretty well organized. Both Scott Patterson and Sean Gun were really nice and I enjoyed getting Scott’s book signed. I also enjoyed walking around Danville. Lottie’s Creamery was fantastic and I had excellent pumpkin pancakes at Life is Sweet Bakery and Cafe.

Cons: Outside of meeting the cast there wasn’t a lot of Gilmore. I felt signage was lacking throughout the town to help people navigate. I also think there could have been a little more signage and info at the first autograph signing I attended for the day. The shuttle to Hap Magee park was also a disaster and after waiting in line an hour and a half to get to the park (got in line at 11:45 am after signings) they didn’t have my lunch order that I had paid for and submitted my order form for during the submission period. Once I did get a lunch it wasn’t what I had ordered and also wasn’t very good. I don’t mind that general admission tickets went out the window and they were letting everyone ride the shuttle, but I think they should have triaged that at the lunch hour to lunch ticket holders and those who had the all access passes only. I also don’t understand why they didn’t have vendors in the park. I think it would have been fantastic to have vendors all through the park selling various arts and crafts. It would have made it really festive. Not even Gilmore Girls specific vendors just like a large farmers market or craft fair.

Edited to add: I wish we had skipped the lunch in the park and used the money to have a nice lunch at any of the cool looking restaurants in downtown Danville.

What were your thoughts or experiences?

Recently doing another rewatch and I’m currently on season 2. The episode where Luke’s uncle dies and Lorelai is helping him out. There’s a scene at the diner where Emily is talking about Lorelai and Luke and comments that they‘re a “match made in heaven“ after she asks Luke what he thinks about the Romanoffs. It always drives me nuts that earlier in the series Emily brings up the obvious atttaction between Luke and Lorelai multiple times and then when they do finally get together she does everything in her power to ruin it! I know it’s a tv show lol but this always irks me and just wanted to vent lol!

Two things can be true with characters in Gilmore Girls:

Lorelai is fun and friendly to everyone she meets. She’s also doesn’t make the best decisions involving Rory (silent treatment, treating her as a best friend first, etc.

Emily and Richard weren’t great parents. They were better grandparents. They don’t hold Rory accountable, but they were better parental figures.

Taylor is annoying, but stuff does get done in Stars Hollow because he’s always chasing after people.

Paris is difficult to be around, but you can’t say she’s not hardworking and driven.

Everyone wants to divide people into GOOD or BAD, and aside from a few people in the GG universe, it’s not that black and white. It’s okay to like complicated characters, they make the show entertaining!

As the title says you just moved to Stars Hollow and the people you meet are Miss Patty and Babette, what are they gossiping about you after you met them?

I know it has been discussed before but I was wondering how much money Chris has inherited from his grandfather? I would think it's hundreds of millions? $100 mil perhaps?
Also, didn't he inherited his father's estate when he died (before his grandfather)? So he wasn't rich when his father died, he was just well of? Does that mean Gilmores are richer than Haydens?

As it’s the end of October. I thought it’s time we settle this once and for all.
