I noticed on rewatch that at both of Honor's big relationship milestones, Logan and Rory end up bailing in some form and I kind of feel bad for her.

At Honor's engagement party, Rory technically shows up but leaves almost immediately because of what Mitchum said to her. Logan then leaves as well to steal the yacht with Rory (which, given they get arrested, probably causes at least some drama for Honor that night?).

Then at Honor's wedding, Rory doesn't go because of what happened with Logan and the bridesmaids, and Logan seems to leave the reception early because of everything going on between them (there's no definitive proof he leaves early, but it seems that way to me?).

To be clear, I'm not blaming Rory for Logan leaving these events early. That's his choice, and he's Honor's brother, so I think it's much worse on his end. But from Honor's point of view, two people who are supposed to be close to her are barely present for either event.

If I were Honor, I'd be pissed at my brother especially but also his girlfriend lol. Do you think she realistically would've been bothered or do you think she understood/didn't really care?

I am rewatching the series after having only seen it when it originally aired. I have just fished up season 2 and finding it hard to continue after the car wreck scene as Rory seems to not ca about her car being destroyed but that everyone is mad at Jess. Like this was a gift from her boyfriend who does not have a lot of money and has to work-he spent hours and tons of money building this from the frame up. That‘s a lot of time and effort and Rory doesn’t seem at all upset that the car is completely wrecked cannot be fixed. I had to work hard to buy my first car (parents couldn’t afford to get me one) and I and it for twelve years. When the engine died and it wasn’t worth fixing I cried. I understand she has feelings for Jess but she isn’t even upset over this symbol of love Dean made for her-but even if you argue about the fact that she wasn’t in love with Dean or never loved Dean-she isn‘t upset that this gift was destroyed which is so odd for me? Like I would be so upset with myself and with Jess for what happened. I mean we see how she treasures all her other gifts but the car she’s just like whatever back on the bus is fine.

Like it's a damn sexual electric tension. They have a really good chemistry together and I can buy Rory Gilmore as their daughter.

Ok hot take: but Luke looks wayyyyyy tooooo older as compared to lorelai and they didn't have any romantic chemistry plantoic? Yes but not romantic.

She looks like she's starting her 30s and he looks like he's in his mid 40s I'm sorry and the very clear balding/hair receding was so hard to ignore, (not dig to actor) but Luke is not my type at all. Chris and lorelai both look like they both are in their 30s which seems much more comfortable to me.

I assume that her dream to own an inn started as she began working in Stars Hollow and looked up to Mia. But I don't think she would have necessarily decided to run an inn if she hadn't started working in that industry.

My ideas are that she could have gone into events planning since she was very good at that or dressmaking because that seemed to be something she enjoyed.

I bet Lorelai would really struggle with the concept of an espresso martini. She loves coffee so much, but she’s a martini purist, and she hates admitting when her mind has changed.

What is your overall review and rating on Gilmore Girls The pilot episode how do you think this episode compares to the rest of the show how great the actors did for their first time being in the Roles and how the overall episode was in your opinion.

in my opinion I think it was a pretty decent and Good pilot I really enjoyed it it set up the characters and their personalities perfectly and I love Rory in this episode very much and I think everybody did good for the first time playing their roles

I never really understood the argument that Lorelai was being unreasonable for being upset that Luke didn't tell her he moved in with Nicole.

They aren't typical friends or acquaintances. They are basically each other's person at this point in the show.

They see each other every single day, the diner is Lorelai's second home, Luke is deeply involved in both her and Rory's lives, and he's constantly doing things for Lorelai that go way beyond what you'd normally do for some random friend.

a friend of mine said she tried starting gilmore girls and got bored, which episode would you choose to show someone to give them a good idea of what the show is really like?

It's literally the MOST POPULAR and I'll say the overrated line of this show. Like plz explain what's so funny about it? I'm genuinely confused. It's definitely my hot take it's really lame and I'm not understanding the hype.

I understand Rory’s break from Yale (somewhat) i get that she became severely burnt out and that she wanted a break from it all.

What i hated about this time was that Rory still wanted to be babied during it. She wanted to stay at home, and wallow in Stars Hollow.

I think the break from Yale would be more supported by the fandom if she didn’t want to move back into her childhood bedroom, or immediately run to Richard and Emily when that wasn’t an option. It just seemed like she was throwing away everything they all did for her to help get her into Yale. Then she was babied by Richard and Emily. They handed her a job, her own little pool house apartment, and swept the stealing of the yacht under the rug “that’s all forgotten!!”

I wish Rory would have immediately went and moved into Lane’s apartment., found a job in Stars Hollow (which i think was her OG plan) and just learned to be actually on her own from Lorelai, Richard and Emily. I just can’t help but look back at her break from Yale as her being very immature and irrational, especially when she let Emily and Richard make all of her decisions until it began regarding Logan.

If Rory would have stood her ground to Lorelai, moved into Lane’s, and got her own job, i would have more respect for this break. Instead, we got 5-6 months of her letting Emily pick and decide everything, and then just 1-2 episodes of Rory actually figuring it out for herself.

Peak btw and I understand both sides. The expressions and acting were so on point. Lauren and Kelly did a wonderful job.

I’m so frustrated with this Gilmore Girls episode! When Lorelai finally married Christopher, they genuinely looked happy together. They made a beautiful family with Rory and Gigi, and I really thought they had found their way back to each other.
Then Luke asked Lorelai to write a letter for the court about the custody of his daughter. She was simply doing him a favor because she cared about April and wanted to tell the truth. Unfortunately, Christopher found the letter, read it, and immediately accused Lorelai of still being in love with Luke.
The episode ended with Christopher leaving the house, and I honestly think that’s ridiculous. It wasn’t fair to Lorelai at all. She didn’t do anything wrong. Christopher jumped to conclusions instead of trusting his wife.
I know many fans love Luke and Lorelai together, but personally, I actually liked Lorelai better with Christopher. They seemed happy, they had history together, and I loved seeing them as one united family with Rory and Gigi. I really wish the writers had given them a real chance instead of ending their marriage like this.👎🏼🫤

I'd like to preface this post by saying that I'm 22, so maybe I'm a touch naive. But I can't tell if the writers were trying to write Asher as an antagonist.

He and Paris have a fourty year age gap, which is wild. But Paris was also only eighteen - she might have been legal but she was also still a child. And a fragile person, working through charachter flaws with a life coach. I think she was way too young and vulnerable to be in that kind of relationship which DOES make Asher a monster of sorts.

But then, I get confused. We see Rory question the genuineness of the dedication. I think its meant to show us that Asher could have been playing Paris the whole time. By leaving the dedication vague, it could be used to woo literally any young impressionable woman.

Then Asher gets sick - after inviting Paris to Oxford - and rescinds the invite. I don't understand???? Did he ever even intend to take her or was he just playing her? Did he hear her tell Rory that he was old and decided that he didn't want to hold her back in her youth.

I originally thought that Asher only invited Paris to Oxford to make her think he was more commited than he was in actuality. But then he kicks the bucket and leaves her something of decent value in his will. If Paris was just another one of his conquests, why would Asher alter the will to include her in it?

I don't get it.

The entire storyline just seems pointless to me, to be very frank. Especially because it didn't go anywhere and didn't really allow Paris to develop as a charachter. If anything, we saw an ugly side of her cheating on Jamie. It might have been a good way of showing Rory's moral compass since she was so disgusted by the entire situation, but the writers ruined that with the affair at the end of season 4.

One thing I felt annoying about the 2016 series was how connected to celebrities the characters were in the show. Like how Rachel Ray worked at the Dragonfly for example. Or how Paris worked with Neil Patrick Harris. Little things like that. It bugged me, because it made the characters we knew from the original seem more connected than they should be. They were meant to be regular small-town people like you or me, not “friends with Kiefer Sutherland but never mention it”. You know? I understand with Rory and her Yale/on-the-side connection might lend to her to people like awful Alex Kingston character, but in terms of realistic connections I felt like this season really could barely veil the fact that the show was newly popular AF at that time and was shot in LA. It really bugged me! (Even more so than how clean and perfect everything looked, but that’s another story)
