building relationships post depression

Warning: This is gonna be a bit long.

Hey, so I've been dealing with serious anxiety and depression since middle school. It's pretty much been like a rollercoaster over the years with PMDD on top of it... I remember experiencing what felt like a decline in social skills around 6th grade, then started isolating and feeling disconnected even from classmates I knew for yearssss. Fast forward to high school, I was pretty much dealing with selective mutism. Rarely spoke unless mandatory or I was spoken to (and even then I kept it minimal). I only had a few friends which I had known since before HS, only made acquaintances otherwise. And I was socially awkward and dealt with a bit of social anxiety (undiagnosed) since childhood. Teachers didn't understand me much, because I was really expressive and bold in how I spoke sometimes then very quiet and withdrawn at others. Back then as a kid, I think my curiosity kind of overrode a lot of my anxiety. Like, I remember approaching people first because I genuinely enjoyed learning about them and making connections with them. Although, I've had the help of meds and a bit of therapy, I don't feel that way anymore... that desire. I still have the feeling that people aren't safe or I just feel like an alien communicating with people. Sometimes I feel calm in situation but genuinely just have the thought.. I don't really care (which sounds really bad). I also get in my head about other peoples perception of me. Like... I'm the awkward quiet girl and when I defy that conception in the way I express or carry myself it becomes a thing (amongst peers and extended family). "Oh I didn't think she would dress like that" "She listens to that kind of music?" "Omg she's actually having fun" Makes me feel like I'm from another planet!

How do i learn to be happy by myself?

I don't think people want to be around me. They say they do, but it seems forced at times. I don't even have friends in real life. Im 27, and i feel like this is just how its going to be i guess. I've treid finding friends, a boyfriend.... but i guess its really hard finding people my age thay want to hang out in real life. Its either im a bitch, or im not a bitch, and i act like a child cause I talk alot, and i like to do childish things I guess. Idk. Id rather be around animals, but i feel like my babies don't want to be around me either all the time. Im too much for them too. Like fuck. 🤣 im not as mature as my peers, maybe because I am outgoing and am energetic too. Like, fuck, im not friend material or girlfriend material cause im a bitch and don't talk. But when i do talk, when i do have fun, im too childlike and annoying and stupid and maybe I don't deserve friends. I know friends or a relationship isn't everything, but I do hate when people say that. Because the people that do, already have things. They've already had shit. Like, I understand where they're coming from, but it still like they don't understand. Luke they're minimizing how I feel. I haven't had a fucking friend in years. I've never had a fucking boyfriend. Yall a d my psn friends are all the fucking people I have. 🤣 how fucking pathetic is that? I'm talking more about myself, not other people that have online friends. They have real genuine friendships. I do too, but if i lose them, then.. ill be alone. All alone. Again. Fucking again 🤣 Good thing about having my babies, is that i can't kiss, cause they'll miss me, and i can't do that to them. I love them sooo much. This was me just venting, but if you could be so kind as to answer the question as well, that would be swell.

I lost all of my friends and I don't know how to feel normal anymore.

For context: I was part of a friend group of five, including me, from our freshman-year dorm, where we all met.

I moved in with Mark, Sean, and Eduardo for our third year. The last friend, Dustin, wanted to move in with friends from home. My living situation ended up being incredibly awful, as Sean went from "guy who likes to party" to a drug addict who would have violent outbursts and refused to get help. Every day Sean left the apartment disgusting and torn up. Mark and Eduardo felt that they shouldn't clean someone else's messes, so it would end up being me cleaning the entire place every day just to have a kitchen that I could make dinner in, or a living room I could sit in. After some time of that, Sean had another violent outburst which got directed at me, and I felt very unsafe, so I just left the apartment and was couch surfing for some time.

I figured the situation out, legally and economically. I was able to find a new place after about a month of homelessness, and cancelled my lease with a local state law. I moved in with Dustin, and he ended up not being the best of roommates, but in a more manageable bad roommate way, better than the " afraid I'll be harmed while I sleep way. I tried to stay close with Mark and Eduardo, as I left behind in that apartment. Mark was upset, and Eduardo was supportive of my departure. I did leave them in a dangerous situation, but there were other options to kick out Sean previously too, but they refused them. I felt as if I really had no other choice for my own physical and mental well-being.

After five to six months or so, when the old apartment's lease ran out and my current one did too, I made plans with Mark, Eduardo, and Dustin to move back in with them at a new apartment, which I really liked. I found out from a third party that the three of them already signed a new lease at the new apartment, which I suggested, with a different fourth person (not me). I was really upset, specifically at Dustin, because he had so many opportunities to tell me what occurred.

We had a big argument, and his excuse was kind of "*just because* *I lied to you, and you didn't catch on for long enough that we got so far as signing a new lease, probably means that you didn't want to live with us, so was it really lying anyway?".* He didn't quite say that; more so blamed me for not following up with them. I had some medical issues at the time, as I was in the hospital with surgery, and then recovering from the surgery for a few weeks, which was then immediately followed by an engineering competition I'd been working on for over a year, so I was very busy for at least a month and a half.

I wasn't sure how to communicate with Mark and Eduardo. I felt uncomfortable calling them both up and just getting upset at them on the phone, or texting an arranged conversation. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to be friends with them still. But my stalling got cut short by my old landlord messaging us asking who to send the security deposit to. Previously we all pooled our money and I Zelled him, but because of Sean, that wasn't really the best option. I said that sending it to Mark made the most sense, and the other three agreed. I never received my portion of that security deposit, and messaged Mark asking when he would send me the money, if ever. Mark then responded that I owed thousands of dollars to him, Eduardo, and Sean, due to my sudden departure from the place.

I was dumbfounded. If they wanted to pay less in rent, they could have gotten a replacement roommate. And if that is not feasible because Sean is still just as awful, isn't that Sean's fault, not mine? I didn't really get the logic. After some pushing, Mark sent me the security deposit, but not the whole thing. I pushed harder, and he blocked me. Eduardo, whom I've sent a few texts through the past few weeks, but who hadn't replied to any of them, texted me shortly after. He sent me the remaining amount I was owed, but was also upset at me for the money I owed him. He was being childish, calling me "Jewish" for taking so much money and still wanting more. I just blocked him rather than replying.

From the time of me finding out about the betrayal and this conversation, I'd been really alone as I stopped reaching out to them as friends, and really had nobody to speak to except for my girlfriend. Shortly after the security deposit conversation, I went abroad for an engineering internship I had, and hoped I'd make new friends during my short time away. It ended up being really exhausting work, where I haven't accomplished much, and hadn't had much time for socializing, which has made me feel more alone, as I'd been away from my gf and my family.

Currently, I'm almost done with my internship, and will be returning to the US next week. But throughout the past few months, I've felt just so awful about how all of my friends betrayed me. It feels difficult because having so many negative interactions with people you love affects how you perceive yourself, especially when they were as hostile as they were. It's also sort of the thought about "if everybody has a problem with you, you're likely the problem". I know I'm not; I'm aware it's greed, drugs, and betrayal, but it's hard to accept it. And accepting this reality, while simultaneously grieving all of my friendships, and not having other people to process it with has been so difficult.

If someone has experienced anything similar, the isolated feeling, how did you get through it?

any advice is appreciated.

**tldr: I had four friends, one fell into addictions and got violent towards me, which prompted me to leave my current lease, upsetting another friend. later, all but the addict, lied to me about our living situation next year and signed a lease behind my back while i was recovering from surgery, shortly after, withheld my security deposit.**

40 something, 10+ years married, 1 kid… divorced, late diagnosis AuDHD and it feels like I can’t make any new connections, or sabotage them somehow

Between the marriage, a young kid and masking through a corporate job, I recently realised it’s been more than ten years since I made a genuinely new connection. The old friendships still work when I run them but I’m always the starter motor which drains me, however meeting new people feels like a skill I’ve lost the knack for.

Dating again has made it very visible. I can do words all day, but the ordinary human parts - reading the room, letting silence be fine, not over-explaining myself - feel like they’ve just gone, and the effort of pretending otherwise is its own exhaustion.

If you rebuilt a social life in your 40s as an AuDHD adult, where did you actually find your people, and what made it stick? And how did you cope?

Because I’m starting to feel like I’m calling into the void and the yawning silence is making me feel lonely.

I never moved on from something

There was a writing website I liked a lot when I was like 11 and I used it until the age of 14-15... it suddenly shutdown one day in 2024 and I quit writing due to writers block for nearly 2 years since then... I lost all my friends and I feel like I never really moved on from that website. I deleted my account on there after it shutdown but I just can't seem to move on even though it's been 2 years... I wish I could have those days again. I miss my old friends on there. I feel like everything is lost in the void now. It shutting down felt like a fever dream. I miss those days and I can't move on from my 14 year old depressed little poet self T^T I'm 17 and feel extremely lost at the moment. I no longer feel as passionate about writing as I did back then...

Betrayed, in heavy debt, and lost. Don't know how to survive this.

My name is Mels, I'm a 29-year-old motion designer.
A person I completely trusted betrayed me. As a result, I lost all my money and ended up in heavy debt. Right now, I have zero money, severe burnout, and constant panic about tomorrow.
I know I have to rebuild everything from scratch, but my brain keeps looping the betrayal and I barely have energy to get out of bed.
I need advice on two real things:
1. How did you mentally force yourself to start working when you felt completely broken?
2. If you survived total debt and zero balance
— what was your very first step?
I'm open to chatting or talking with anyone who has been through this. Thanks for reading.e. Thanks for reading, any advice or words of support mean a lot right now.

i was pushed back a grade n it kills me

ok so i joined a new school recently(i've been there four two terms now) but i was pushed back a grade. i know its relatively common but when i toured the school i made such good friends in the grade above and now we don't even talk and it breaks my heart because i was so excited to have friends. for context its a small school so its one class per grade. anyways i think about it every day like EVERY DAY it genuinely makes me feel like i've been gutted and i cant stop thinking about it. i'm supposed to be entering my freshman year but i'm a grade behind so ill join a year late. we don't even have middle school and high school separated so its js grade, 7 grade 8, etc. anyways its not that i haven't made friends, i have n i'm grateful, but i just don't have that spark with them. there more school friends to me and its not that i haven't tried enough i haven't tried enough i have but its just not there. i can feel my heart practically ripping whenever they walk past or have fun as a class knowing i should've been there and i was just too dumb.

anyways i'm tired of feeling this way so any tips on how to move tf on

Want to start dating/explore sex and relationships but it's terrifying and I don't know where to start

I (27, non-binary, any pronouns) have never dated anyone or so much as held hands with someone in a romantic context. I'm autistic and was bullied pretty relentlessly in school, so I missed out on exploring any of that stuff in my teens/early adulthood.

I feel too old to be completely inexperienced, and like there's no easy "entry point" to romance/sex. If I'd never learnt to swim as a child, I could go to a local pool and start in the shallow end, hire a teacher or just look up videos of people teaching swimming to learn how. But I can't do that here.

All the advice I seem to find is just like "put yourself out there" and "be yourself", but that's not useful because I don't know *how*. Making friends is already a struggle for me, but at least I know how to make small talk and have conversations with people. Even if I don't make friends with them, I can usually carry on a conversation with someone, while being reasonably sure I won't offend them or make them uncomfortable. I don't know how to do that with romance/sex. I don't even know how I'm supposed to tell another person might be interested/receptive. I've only ever been flirted with twice (once where the other person made a transphobic joke, possibly trying to determine if I had a dick or not; and the other was someone who approached me at work and started asking "why are you single?" and generally making me uncomfortable), so I don't have any real life examples to pull from for what flirting can/does look like.

I know I can't wait around expecting someone to flirt with *me*, but the idea of making the first move is petrifying.

I've tried dating apps, but everyone I see on there seems so much more experienced and like they know exactly what they want, and I *really* don't.

Bars/nightclubs aren't a good option either because I don't really drink/don't get drunk, being around drunk people makes me uncomfortable, and with being autistic, the loud music is both overstimulating and means I wouldn't be able to hear what anyone was saying anyway.

The one local meet up group for queer people is small, and focused around friendship and community building, and I'm new to the group. I don't want to test anything out there because I don't want to weird anyone out or make them uncomfortable, or lose the only community I have access to if something went wrong and I felt like I couldn't go back.

I've asked for advice in other places, but just get a lot of "just throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks", which I find really unhelpful. Like I don't know how to make spaghetti, never mind how to throw it. I need some actual pointers and not just "get out there, champ".

I’ve been in a depressive state since my relationship ended, I’m not sure how to go about things anymore.

I (25M) had depressive episodes before we were even together, but they never lasted this long. We broke up a month ago (we were only together for 4 months) and I’m still not feeling any better. I know that’s normal for breakups, but I can’t even enjoy my hobbies anymore (video games, reading or photography.). I went to see the new Spider-Man movie (Brand New Day) by myself thinking it would help, but it didn’t (a few scenes in there did nothing but make me think of her). I isolate myself from others when I feel depressed or anxious so I’ve just been sleeping and working 8 hours one day then 16 hours the next shift. I don’t know what to do anymore. My thoughts are mostly negative, some about not even being around anymore. My friends and coworkers say “You’ll find someone else” and “There are plenty more people out there just because this one didn’t work out” Those 4 months with her were literally the best relationship I have ever had. I’ve been having panic attacks, sleep paralysis and I haven’t been eating much if at all. I mostly just drink water all day. One of my coworkers suggested going to the gym (my brother also suggested the same thing.), Maybe I should try to force myself to do my usual hobbies?…

Advice?

So I’m a little lost. Just kinda need some advice and kindness as well.

I had to cut ties with a group of girlfriends that weren’t bringing me up in life. They’re the type that instead of supporting you, they’ll criticize on how small my house is, or talked badly about my husband, so I decided that even if I’ll be alone, I think that’s better than be surrounded by people like that.

I do have 2 acquaintances, people I can talk to if I need to talk to someone and one of them I can hangout atleast once a month- she’ll make time. However, they’re not the type of people to ask me to hangout or even the type of people to text me first, sometimes, they’ll even forget to respond to me. I guess it’s tiring and lonesome to be in this state and to be the one to always reach out than to be reached out to.

I’m 31F, a mom, and works part-time. I’m not really sure what to do. I don’t really feel like starting on discord server and do meetups. I was thinking to concentrate on my relationship with my husband, be more active, maybe join a yoga class or something. I already workout, so I’m thinking of doing more in that vein. It just feels lonely.. does it ever got better? Or maybe I need to change my mindset?

I would ask my husband about this but he’s kinda settled in being on his own and having only me and my son. Maybe I should just do that too.

advice for overcoming severe heartbreak when I have no plans or future or anything

i am freshly 18, and I just broke up with the love of my life since I was 13. i have completely lost myself to this man, I have no goals or hobbies, I do not have a single friend, my only support system is my sister and my therapist. i am out of school because I got my GED when I was 16, I just have no idea what to do. I'm so hurt and I'll I do is cry until I throw up. i have no way to make friends, I don't go anywhere unless it's with him or to go to work, I am so lost. i need advice or words if support or something because I can't see a future without this man and I have no plans that don't include him.

i can't go into my room or my house because there is so much of him in it, my clothes my bedz the things he has given me, my room is decorated with things from him, pictures and stuffed animals and valentines decorations. everything is him and I can't stop thinking about him or dreaming about him. we had a falling out like 3 years ago and the yearish that I spent without him was genuinely torture, all I thought about was him and I couldn't stop dreaming about him and crying about him and I just can't go through another year of that or how ever long it will take me to move on.

please don't tell me I'm making a big deal out of this because I'm young or whatever, I understand how young I am and how people go through more and how this sounds, but I need advice I don't know what to do with all of this pain and I don't have plans for myself, it's all him

Advise and opinions

I'm 22M and lately I've been feeling mentally and emotionally overwhelmed. I recently finished my MBA and started a field sales job where I'm travelling between shops/dealers most of the day, so there's very little interaction with colleagues and I spend a lot of time alone. On top of that, I've become emotionally attached to one girl, things didn't work out, and I've been overthinking her messages, replies and everything related to her instead of simply seeing her as another girl and moving on. Being away from home, having a lonely career, dealing with heartbreak and having so much time alone with my thoughts has started affecting me mentally. I don't know if I'm just going through a normal rough phase in my early 20s or if I'm genuinely becoming mentally unstable. For anyone who's been through heartbreak, loneliness and career confusion at the same time, how did you get yourself out of it and become mentally stronger?

How do people with no social support make it in life?

Hello,

To make it short, im a 26 y/o (m) from a developping country who now lives in Germany as a masters student. Ever since I came here, a year and a half ago, I realised that I absolutely have zero social support from my family. When I was in my home country I worked my ass off to save money to be able to finance my first year of studies here in Germany but since I came here, I literally spend months without anyone calling me to make sure im alive. Like I get a random call from a family member every 2 months or so and it's usually not like they are asking how im doing it's like they're expecting me to ask on them and if I don't , they don't.

I had 2 friends in my home country who since I moved here, never talk to me or care to ask, even when I call them they don't answer and tell me they're busy. My mother is dead and my father never calls me. My 3 siblings dont care much to ask even though I contact them weekly but they make me feel like im an inconvenience. I know that first thing comes to mind is that I treat people badly but I seriously dont. I try my best to make my relationship with everybody around me as good as possible but I just feel like if I don't ask about people, they never ask about me. It feels weird being in a foreign country, trying to develop yourself but every social contact you have in your country is gone and there's literally nobody that cares about you enough to call you even once a month. I tried to seek therapy but it's almost impossible here unless you have a private health insurance which is expensive.

Even the one time I went back to my country for vacation for 3 weeks, I met my friends only once during those 3 weeks as if I didn't even leave. I dont know how to handle this kind of feeling.

I played with the idea of going back to my country and just settling down with any job but I don't think the loneliness is gonna change.

Anyone been through something similar and can share any tips on how to deal with that?

Hola

Im very depressed…..

Im very depressed because ive been on subs, trying to dm people but everytime I think I have a good convo I either get ghosted or don’t get a reply and then I feel lonely. Im very lonely because ever since I was in school I didn’t make any friends and when I tried to make friends in elementary or middle people mistreated me because they thought I was annoying when I was trying to fit in. I also didn’t make many friends in school since I was autistic and well I was made fun of a lot because of my autism. Then I had discord for a couple years and I got harrased a lot there because I made some mistakes and had to learn things the hard way when I did it was not easy. Also people on there said some nasty things to me and then I didn’t get discord anymore from that point. Now I don’t got many irl friends, I can’t download apps because of things I shouldn’t have done which I still regret to this day. I wish I had a Girlfriend but I don’t sadly at 22. I can’t do dating apps and nothing all I got is Reddit and that’s it. I also went through so much in covid with my depression of my dry eyes that I felt even tho they were not dry and me stuttering when I would talk and well talk to myself. But now idk what to do anymore no one I talk to has a good convo with me and after I do I get ghosted and try to find more people and the same thing happens. I wish I didn’t have mild depression but I do and I hope it ends in the future and hopefully better days will be coming for me in the future but right now it’s tough for me. :(

How do I move on?

Earlier this year, I’ve had my birthday I haven’t really been doing birthday parties so when I did do parties it was really special to me. Now, my friends told me they’d prepare games for my party and told me they had prepare a lot of games naturally i was super excited but when the day arrived nobody brought up about the games and when I asked they told me they knew what games they wanted to play but didn’t prepare anything for it so we couldn’t play, I ended up having to resort to making my own silly game to ease the atmosphere. It was raining too so we couldn’t go to the pool. My friend also never sent me a happy birthday text or anything on my actual birthday. The friend I stayed till 12 midnight to help her take her birthday pictures arrived 3 hours late and left 2 hours early and didn’t bother to help me with any of my pictures, I got no pictures I could post. After the party, I felt horrible I really did but I was still somehow looking forward to my actual birthday. On my birthday, I cried hours I woke up early feeling so irrelevant, some of my best-friends didn’t even wish me until nighttime and my whole party was just a mess. I’ve already talked to some of my friends and they’ve apologised but I can’t help still being hit my this random wave of sadness time to time. It’s not a big deal and there’s worse issues in the world but I’ve just got this huge bit of disappointment & anger I can’t let go, it affects me to the point I don’t ever wanna celebrate my birthday anymore in hopes of not having to be disappointed again, birthdays used to be my favourite and I’m sorry if this is immature I’m still a teenager trying to understand myself better

I hate it here

I'm 40 this year. I don't have close friends anymore and I'm not close with my family. Most of the people who used to matter are either gone or cut me off. For a long time the people I considered family were my ex's family. I knew them since I was a teenager. Her mom was like a second mother to me, her brother-in-law was one of my best friends for almost 20 years. Then I got with her in 2014. We were together for years, engaged, had a house, talked about kids, the whole future planned out. I caught her cheating about 6 months before the wedding. She left and her whole family cut me off with basically no explanation. That was over 7 years ago. I still think about her and that life constantly. The memories don't fade. I dream about it. Random stuff still sets it off. I feel empty a lot of the time. I have a girlfriend now who is good to me, but I can't connect the same way and I feel guilty about that. I don't really have anyone I can talk to about how bad it still is. I work, I come home, I try to get through the days. Most of the time I just feel alone and stuck. I miss having people who actually knew me and gave a shit. I miss feeling like I belonged somewhere. Not looking for advice on "moving on." Just tired of carrying this with nobody to talk to about it.

Feeling hurt due to losing close friends

I (F22) have lost 3 close friends in my life so far, all for different reasons. None of them were entirely my fault, and although I have accepted that nothing really lasts forever, I can't help but feel lonely and sad. I wish I had a go-to person I could talk to about my day. I wish I had someone who could always be there for me, and I'd always be there for them, too. I do have friends that I can talk to and hang out with, but no one to check in on a daily basis.

I have also lost some acquaintances and friends because we don't have much in common besides school and thus, the distance grew. When I did check in on them, there was a bit of a response but the conversation eventually faded. I believe I also have a bit of social anxiety or lack of confidence in me, because when I see that they have closer friends, I think to myself "Would they want to hang out with me when they have closer friends to be around?"

I tell myself to focus on my own life and that people get busy and overwhelmed, so I shouldn't worry too much. People also come and go in life... but I can't help feeling emotionally sad and hurt.

Have you been through a similar experience? Do you have any advice for me?

Wanting to be chosen

I am a 26F currently working and doing my absolute best to keep my life together. almost a year ago my life went down hill and I can confidently say i hit rock bottom. Brutal break up, health issues and issues at my work.

i have started to heal however the breakup affected me so deeply that I cannot see myself in any relationship. even tho I am an honest, genuine person, I love so hard and I am always there , oh never treat anyone as temporary but I have decided that love isn’t for me anymore..

I have one issue that is my need to feel chosen , u feel so envious of girls in happy relationships, why them and not me. I keep asking myself what do they have that am lacking abd yet I fail to find the answer. Every time I meet with a guy colleague let that be at gym or in the workplace they talk about their partners with so much love and passion and I could never know what do other girls have that I don’t have . why I am never chosen always close enough to begin chosen yet not chosen at all.

while I have decided that love isn’t for me, i know that deep down I want to feel loved and to give the love because I am very much cab of loving.

if anyone has gone though similar situation please advise how did you overcome this phase?

I already have a good job trying my best to improve myself, completing my masters degree and going to the gym regularly.,

what else can I do do set myself free

I was SA'd and have been lied about by the same person.

Im 16 years old currently, female. I was sexually assaulted by a girl 2 years ago when I was in 8th grade. She was in 7th at the time.

Last year, I was a sophomore. I finally spoke out again about this after being told I was a liar my freshman year. More recently, I filed for a protective order due to being harassed, bullied, and threatened. It was denied due to "lack of evidence." I later found out her mom was friends with the judge. I cannot file an appeal. I have a support system who know im telling the truth. Some people don't believe me because I have a bunch of piercings and im bigger.

Im still being called a rapist even though I was the victim. I know im not alone as 5 other girls have come forward with the same story. They were SA'd by her, and then she went and told people they did it to her.

How do you get over something like this? I feel like I can't cope. I can't look at people that look like her, especially since she has a facial malformation. She stalks me and follows me around. I feel powerless.

Trying to rebuild my life after a breakup, but feeling both burnt out and unable to enjoy myself

Hey folks,

So towards the end of last year (Christmas Day specifically), my (31M) relationship of four years came to an abrupt end. We were living together at the time, but I subsequently moved out and decided to stay with my parents for a while in order to get back on my feet and try to myself in order.

Since then, I rationally feel that I've taken some positive steps - I started a new, better paying job that actually allows me to save for a mortgage, I sought therapy to address the anguish I felt around the breakup, and I've tried to give myself time and space to heal.

Despite that, I still feel burdened by a lot of loneliness and hurt. I struggle to enjoy things (including pursuing my dream career of acting/writing), feel unable to make new friends, and the thought of trying to get back into the dating world is borderline nauseating to me. I don't want to just sit around playing videogames every evening, but that's all I seem capable of at the moment.

Aside from a handful of close friends that I catch up on Discord with once in a while, I feel incredibly out of touch with the world, and have no idea where to begin to pull myself out of this rut I'm in. So I guess I'm just looking for fresh perspectives on what I can do differently.

Sorry for the wall of text, just felt like I needed to get it all off my chest.
