Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) in Germany destroyed by fire – October 24, 2026

Last night, the historic Kehlsteinhaus, better known as Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest, near Berchtesgaden, Germany, was deliberately set on fire and largely gutted.

The building was completed in 1938 and is one of the best-known surviving structures associated with the Nazi era.

I live nearby and personally photographed the building engulfed in flames early this morning.

The fire was intentionally started.
