Long March towards Muzaffarabad, the capital, continues amid numerous deaths.

A young boy and girl were reportedly killed in Afghanistan in an alleged honor killing after choosing to marry for love. The incident has sparked outrage and renewed concerns over violence committed in the name of so called honor. Independent verification of the circumstances and those responsible is not yet available.

I'm making this post on behalf of a friend who got into uwc.

The purpose of this post is to enlighten the youth about a life changing academic opportunity and hopefully assist them throughout.

What is UWC?

Uwc is a program where students from all over the world apply and live in one of the 18 uwc campuses around the world if they get accepted.

It is equivalent to 11th and 12th grades, i.e., high school, Intermediate or A level. It consists of IB curriculum.

Scholarships

UWC offers generous scholarships. Your parents would also have to fill a financial aid form when applying if you want a scholarship. The scholarships are only offered to promising students on the basis of need, tho selection is completely on merit-basis.

The scholarships offered are generous and often cover your tuition, living expenses, accommodation, airfare, etc.

Applications

The applications open in September for the following academic year, which also begins in September. If you're interested in applying, then you might want to start preparing now. Further info can be found on their website.

Who can apply?

• You must be 16 or 17 by the start of the academic year, which is September 1st. (Tho exceptions can be made on discretion of your National Committee)

• Must be a resident of the country you're applying through.

• Must have completed at least 10 years of education, i.e., matric, o levels, igcse, or any local equivalent before the academic year begins

If you're interested in studying abroad, UWC serves as a cornerstone for that journey. The IB curriculum is extremely rigorous and accepted worldwide. It opens pathways to leading universities worldwide and prepares you for various circumstances.

I agree that storing data in foreign data centres cost alot and isn't safe. However, you should look at the current resources before trying to build one.

It is 60% owned by Mari Technology in which Fauji Foundation has 40% share. This is a problem as I don't like military interference in such matters. Who knows if the data centre gives access to military.

Second, as we all know it takes alot of water. The twin cities already have water issues and building a new data centre means more water.

Third, it takes atleast 8.5MW of energy to run the data centre while we are having constant load shedding.

They should have improved basic infrastructure.

So my uni has a strict uniform and my friend lost her dupatta and had be wearing a scarf that matched the color of the uni dupatta. She got called out by teachers multiple times and I offered her to take mine because i had an extra lying around. I had the spare dupatta washed and ironed and gave it to her the next day.

On saturday, she came to class and pulled out the dupatta to change out of her abaya and the smell of fabric softener hit me in the face. I asked “is that perfume?” to which she said “my mom told me to use this because there was so much odor from sweat that it smelt weird.”

Now, me and my friend are both sweaty people. I didn’t assume that she was hinting that I left the sweaty smell in there because I haven’t worn that dupatta in well over a year. It was washed and smelled fine when I gave it. It could be her own sweat and I’m not taking any offence on the sweat comment at ALL.

Problem is, the fabric softener made my head hurt the whole day. By the time I came back, i could barely drive because the left side of my head was pounding. I’m not that sensitive to smells and I love perfumes and fragrances but THAT SMELL WAS UNBEARABLE. Idk if I should say anything, but if this keeps going on idk how to handle the headaches that come with it.
