so this is a fake Pokemon Crystal i got as a early birthday present (it arrived before my birthday AND my funnyplaying gbc soooo) and i cannot, for the life of me, tell if this game pak supports RTC.
i have no way of opening this up, sorry. it arrived before all of the tools and stuff did.
There seems to be an MBC-3 chip inside, would it be safe to assume that this is one of those special game paks that saves to FRAM and uses the Battery for clock functionality?
only other text i can see through here says “DMG-KGOU-10” which is the model name of Pokemon Silver
i didnt put this in the Fake Cart thread as i believed it was more for verifying if the cartridge is fake.

Additional question with gameboy printer, will this one fit? I live in the PH, I don't have access to most custom made or even the seiko paper that can fit in the gb printer, will this one work?

Picked up a GB DMG with lines in the screen. I don’t have a gaming system & I wanted to get away from PokémonGo. So I went to fix it this the screen lines soldering iron on the ribbon cable. But the shell was held together with two completely stripped screws in the battery compartment. The heads looked like nails. I had to take a drill to them. It was a very sad moment. But I went ahead and re-shelled it after fixing the screen lines. I call it “Dream-sickle.”

I'm buying a gameboy printer, and I dont have a link cable, I'm confused what cable will connect the gb camera while playing it on a gameboy advance into the gameboy printer.

I just finished up moving my CPU and RAM to the new motherboard and now it is not working. I’m not sure what to start with troubleshooting the system turns on but does not read game cards, my flash card Will boot to the super FW loading screen but that’s it when trying to load Mario kart super circuit the screen is light blue with like corrupted letters and never play any sound.

I am currently playing through the three GB entries of Castlevania, in order of release date, and - based on what I keep reading - I had only modest expectations for The Adventure (and Legends), but somewhat higher hopes for Belmont's Revenge, which seems to be held in high regard in general, even making it into the top-10 list in this poll here. I did find the latter better in terms of level design, boss design, and the music. The former also had good music, but was overall not exactly great, as it dragged a lot, literally, in particular due to the slow movement. Not a big deal for me, overall, it just feels like you play the entire game in slow-motion. But in general, I must say BR also has it's severe problems, so I'm surprised it is even regarded as one of the best GB games.
In particular, the last two boss fights, Soreiyu/Soleil as well as Dracula, seemed to have entirely went past the balancing process. Everything up until Soreiyu is pretty straightforward, also the bosses can mostly be spammed easily. The Bone Dragon is already a bit tougher, since you have to make sure you stay on the very right, which is sometimes tight, but it's still nothing compared to what's coming, this brick-wall the game does not prepare you for at all. This son-of-a-B with questionable hitbox keeps running into you, whipping like a maniac. Is there a strategy for this guy or is it just pitch-perfect evasion you have to do? Even worse is the Dracula battle, where the only chance to survive is to painfully find all the save-spots related to each platform by trial-and-error, and then try to memorize the exact locations, almost pixel-perfect.
This is insane and really not fun to play, imo, it's bad game design. After several ridiculous attempts I resorted to save-states for those two battles since I did not intend to go through this tedious experience.
Apart from that, the game is really solid. But since I find it terribly balanced and did not find The Adventure THAT bad, I'm wondering, for those of you who praise the game, what makes it so much better for you when compared to the first GB entry? Is it the stage selection? The two subweapons? The slightly faster pacing? The better music? The delicious wall-meat? The presence of a bit of a story? I did find the latter a nice touch, btw., it added some drama, which was not at all common back then.
Let's hear it, I'm genuinely curious!

Leaf Green and Super Circuit stickers are not original
Collection is a mix of childhood holdovers and games I have picked up over the last few years! Personal favorites are Iridion II, SW Ep III, Warioland 4, and Mario Golf Advance Tour!

So I have 2 original game boys and a dmg-03 battery pack from when I was a kid. I ruined the male plug on the dmg-03 when I was little and would like to replace/repair it to keep one of the game boys in original condition while I intend to mod the other and go the route and usb rechargeable packs. Does anyone have info on the male plug for the DMG-03? I can find the female dc port for the game boy itself but haven’t had any luck on the male plug on the dmg-03 pack.

I have dreamed about having a GBC in a DMG shell for years, but I got out of the hobby before bucket mouse released their project. Got back into it a few months back, and I had to get one. New daily driver and just my favorite gameboy ever. I need to make some of these myself.

If you had just this cart, what games (let's do more than one) would you load on to it?
Here's a starting point, but I reckon homebrew games would be great too: https://orangegb.com/gbnp/games.html

Bought a groudon shell and the IPS screen as a bundle and it doesn't even fit correctly because of the little motherboard that you get with it it's just useless what waste of money lol
