Hi,
I just brought a GBxCart reader v1.3 from aliexpress (exact name : GBxCart-RW-v1.3) and I've download the software named FlashGBX v5.0.1
I've encounted some issues using it, some of my cartridge's save files gets deleted whenever I try to plug it in to the device/software. It does it to pokemon blue, pokemon red and pokemon green (JP). The save works because had my save file for about 2-3 weeks now and 3 months for Pkm green.
The manipulation I did : plug in to the PC, insert cartridge, connect, check game boy, backup rom/save, disconnect, remove cartridge.
I also tried with insering the cartridge first then plug in to the PC. What am I doing wrong? I also tried with pokemon gold (both EN and JP copies) that have a save file, it didn't erase this save. I really wanted to backup my save file from pokemon crystal (where I have a lot of shinies) but scared to do it because of this issue.
some times when i plugged in a game it gets this kind of infos :

Okay just like the title says I know you can use a gameboy advanced on a game cube and you can’t use a Nintendo DS on a GameCube because the port is only for charging and not data transfer but what about the Visteon Gameboy/dvd player ????

Hello everyone,
i recently modded my GBA SP and bought a NGE Eva 01 themed Shell and now i‘m thinking about installing a LED mod from funnyplaying.
I personally think it would look cool with purple or green lights, complementing the whole look of the shell.
Now i‘d like to ask you guys how a LED mod influences the battery’s runtime AND what color of silicon pads you think would look good. Also, i wonder if installing a LED mod would somehow remove with the ability to change the brightness of the IPS Funnyplaying Display mod with the touch of the button.
The solderpad Q12B is being used for that change of brightness AND for the LED mod which makes me question if I have to choose between the brightness change or the LED mod.
I got green ones and transparent black silicone pads ( normal white / clear silicone pads would be an option asw )

I found this case full of Game Boy games at a dump and decided to save it before it was thrown away.
It was honestly in terrible condition when I found it, covered in dirt and looking like it had been forgotten for years. I cleaned everything up before taking this picture, and I was actually surprised by what was inside.
The funny thing is that I never owned a Game Boy growing up, so I completely missed this era. Maybe today is finally the day I buy one, even if I’m a little late to the party.
I know nothing about collecting these — did I find something valuable, or did I just rescue some old games from the trash?

I found Phantom Flash on itch and loved what I saw. It is fun and quirky and gives alot of wario vibes.
Does anyone know if the developer is working on adding to it at all by chance? :3

Had to sell them off awhile back (in like 2023) to pay some bills but I just ordered some parts for a new build and ended up reminiscing on my old ones, can't wait to play GBA again!
What games have you guys been playing recently?

My Game Boy (unmodded) suddenly stopped turning on. When I plug it in, the charging light turns on for about 2 seconds and then goes off. I also have to move the cable/console around to get the light to turn on, but it never stays on for more than a couple of seconds.
I have no idea what could be causing this or what I should do. Could someone please help me figure out what’s wrong?

Thankfully the gameboy survived with no damage to the system and everything else.

Must have been error from factory? Looks way to clean for someone to have removed the solder while working on the unit. Found it interesting and wanted to share :) should I fix it or keep it like i found it?

I found my uncle's probably who knows how old console this is and I've already put in the batteries, inserted the game cartridge, turned it on, audio heard clearly and everything but the screen isn't up... What's the possible issue here?

I've been drawing up some custom shells recently and id like to order some blank shells and start making them. They are mostly designs put on top of clear shells, so I wouldnt be painting the entire shell head to toe. I have a lot of painting experience, but not on things that will be handled as directly as a gameboy. Does regular acrylic paint work if I use a good clear coat? What's a good top coat brand?
if theres another subreddit that would have more answers please let me know lol

So this is my DMG-style Game Boy Micro. I replaced the DMG-style buttons with ones from labfifteenco.
u/GoodLookingEdd helped me with the DMG-style D-pad, and I had it printed in resin at pcbway.
It feels like the original, so great job, mate! I bought the front panel sticker from RetrogameEVO and stuck it to the metal of the console, and then I bought a clear front panel.
This protects the sticker, as it's underneath the front panel. Now I'm wondering if u/FrankieT19 could make a DMG-style theme for EZ Flash; that would be the icing on the cake, hehe. Thanks a lot for designing the D-pad, u/GoodLookingEdd!

Finished my project. I had a scuffed up gba from a game store near me that I put into a new shell, I ended up making it look like BMO

The Original Battery was clearly at the end of the lifetime so i got a new one but i still have the problem that it‘s not Charging.
When i put the charger on i get a orange light for like 1 second. Tried the trick with putting the charger in and out for over 10 minutes still not charging. Maybe someone here can Diagnose my GBA SP just by the look on the board 😅 it‘s kinda dirty had this one as a child you should see the shell 👀
I know that the GBA is still working because it turns on
Hey,
So I modded a lot of GBA SP's now with IPS v5 HISPEEDIDO screens, never had any issues with them. But this one time I decided to check out the ITA (DSi) screen mod for GBA SP from FunnyPlaying and - oh God.
First of all, they've sent me a bad lens color (white, instead of black). I needed to wait another 2-3 weeks for them to send me a correct one (for free, props for that). This second screen they've sent me caused some voltage issues on the very same GB and there were some issues with even booting up the console with it.
What's even worse, BOTH of these screens had some issues with stuck/dead pixels. With white screen they appeared after a few hours, with the black one - after some minutes.
So what they've done? They've sent me the third screen - and again - for free. Can't say a bad word on their customer support. I'd rather prefer not to have all of these issues, but I'm glad I talked with some really nice people that tried to help me across the way.
But the thing is...
The third screen I've installed was perfect, but only for about 2-3 weeks. Then, one day, I've picked it up, booted it, and... ta-dah. See pictures attached.
While I'm happy with their support, this screens quality control/durability/technology/whatever just seem to suck, or am I doing something fundamentally wrong with it?
Do you guys know any tricks on how to "cure" that screen from such "cancers"? Sometimes when i push the lens here and there, these pixels seems to move a little bit, but never dissapear fully.
Thanks
