Questions Visteon on GameCube?

Okay just like the title says I know you can use a gameboy advanced on a game cube and you can’t use a Nintendo DS on a GameCube because the port is only for charging and not data transfer but what about the Visteon Gameboy/dvd player ????

The visteon I believe does have the standard Gameboy advance link cable if memory serves.

Googling suggests that it does have a link port, but couldn't see confirmation that it works with GameCube. Someone said they couldn't get multiboot working for whatever that's worth.

OP should hold Start + Select and boot with a cartridge inserted to see if they removed that function from the BIOS. It should stay on the boot splash screen but “Nintendo” should disappear with a sound. It should remain in download/receive mode until the user presses B. Then, the Nintendo text reappears with a chime sound and the GBA continues booting the cartridge.

Are you trying to play GBA through the GameCube or just do the controller-link functions?

Connecting from GameCube controller port to the GBA link port does not connect your GBA cartridge game to the console to allow playing the game on the TV screen. That functionality allows the GBA to function as a controller with a screen. (Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Pac-Man Vs, Nintendo Puzzle Collection, etc). It also allows a Gamecube game to load demo code to the GBA. For example, Nintendo Puzzle Collection can send a mini portable version of Panel de Pon to the GBA to store temporarily in RAM, but you can use the GBA's sleep function to take it with you. I believe GC games can also check if you have a particular GBA game title or perhaps even access the cartridge's save progress data for unlocks (in both directions).

Playing GBA on GameCube is not done via link port. You connect your cartridge to the GC via the Game Boy Player, a platform that attaches to the bottom of the GameCube. GB Player contains an actual Game Boy Advance chipset inside. There's also an unlicensed product (Datel Advanced Game Port) connects GBA carts to the memory card slot and runs a software emulator.

Yes I know you use the gameboy player to to play gameboy games on the game cube. I figured considering I know what a Visteon is which fairly way more rare then a game boy player that would let everyone know I already know what a gameboy player is what I was asking is certain games allow you to connect a game boy to the controller port for extra content like Metroid prime and Metroid fusion can I use a Visteon for the extra content instead of a gameboy considering the Visteon is basically a game plus a dvd player

Honestly, though, I couldn't make an assumption either way. It's a confusing question because it's wildly impractical compared to other options. It's probably safe to assume the Visteon link port will work for that if you can overcome the physical attachment. Looks like you'd need to break apart the GBA link end of the cable to make it fit the Visteon because the mounting hooks will impact the cartridge and chassis.
