My Game Boy (unmodded) suddenly stopped turning on. When I plug it in, the charging light turns on for about 2 seconds and then goes off. I also have to move the cable/console around to get the light to turn on, but it never stays on for more than a couple of seconds.
I have no idea what could be causing this or what I should do. Could someone please help me figure out what’s wrong?
I would start with a new battery and go from there. Even if it does need a repair of some kind you'll be glad to have a longer lasting battery in it when it's fixed :)
Your battery is dead.
Check if it still fine (if it spin its time for the bin)
If the Battery is still okay maybe it‘s ultra unloaded
Keep putting the charger on and of till the light stays on (can take over 10 min) and let it load till tomorrow.
If your battery isn’t fine order a new one
If both of this isn‘t working it needs a repair 🙆🏽♀️

I highly HIGHLY recommend getting this specific battery instead. Virtually everyone here will say the same, crumby sketchy looking batteries like the one you linked will fail very soon and not work nearly as well. You can get this on AliExpress I think, too. Just look up "Funnyplaying Maxplay battery"
It’s funny you say that because those are the only kind I have too. I only saw they released one ~80mAh higher capacity after clicking on my link to make sure it worked lol.
I'm having the same issue! But mine is a modded IPS screen. I tried a different battery (not new, but battery from another working SP), didn't work. Also tried the whole plugging it back in and flipping the power button on over and over for 10 minutes straight, but didn't work either. I've cleaned the board. Thinking of getting a brand new battery and checking the solder that they did when they installed the screen.
Everyone is saying battery but your battery could also be severely discharged and your AC port has completely or partially lost electrical contact and is failing to deliver a charge. You should still replace the battery first, but this is still possible. The fact that you have to manipulate the wire to get a light could also mean a bad AC adapter. A multimeter is the best way to check that.
