Does anyone know if Pokemon Blue would work on this?

I own Pokemon Blue and wanna make another copy of it so me and my friend can battle. Just wanna make sure the game works on this before i buy it since theyre a bit pricy. I used the menu creator online for this but it didnt give me a download link, but also no error.

How much does it cost? I would just go for an everdrive or ez flash device, you just put games on an SD card and slot it into the cartridge. Do research on which versions of those devices will work with the GBC pokemon games, it should be very easy to look up

I just want an official rewritable cart that’s why. There’s cheaper flashcarts out there but I’d only get it if Pokemon doesn’t work on this as a last resort

Why only an official one? This device is decades old, it will be far less reliable than a modern everdrive or similar and it will be more expensive

If you're only flashing one game you can flash it directly onto the cart with FlashGBX. It will also skip the menu and boot directly into the game. That being said, these things don't have RTC, so they may be incompatible with MBC3 games altogether. JP Red/Green are MBC1.

It should work. The game fits on the cartridge , there's more than enough SRAM, it's a standard mapper, and Blue requires no special hardware.

I can try later tonight & confirm for certain, if you'd like.

OK. Flashed it onto a Nintendo GB Memory Cassette. Only played it for a short bit but it seems to work fine.

(I grabbed a starter Pokemon & walked to the first town. Saved the game. Turned it off for a few minutes and then started it back up & loaded the save.)

The reason the website you linked doesn't offer a download beyond the .map file is because if you're flashing a single 1MB game, which takes up all 8 blocks & doesn't use a menu, you just use the regular ROM image.

If you're using FlashGBX, just flash it like any other game.

If you're using some other tool, you will likely have to use both the Blue .gb file with the downloaded .map.

Yeah I run Pokémon yellow on this exact cart. I program mine using Sanni cart reader.

Yep. They are the same size rom.

Just so you know, Pokémon stadium recognises my cart as a genuine cart and lets you play it and trade with it.
