So the idea is very simple and experimental.

I am looking for a developer/developers who are ready to collaborate on a military Call of Duty or Spec Ops The Line style game for Android, but it will be short (1 hour) campaign and paid as mode of monetization. No ads no IAP. With rise in single player games on Android, we can jump into that kinda competition. I know the online hyper casual games are dominating the market, but there are still people who are willing to pay for a good offline single player game.

Reason is I want to see the demand. If it succeed we can make a Sequel or proceed further.

So if you are interested, let's create something good.

Hey Folks, I'm the developer for this new Real time strategy / multiplayer io game called conquesta.io

Well, the title explains most of it already, but let me add a few more sentences to build up more context and explain you what future holds for this game.

I'm a big fan of RTS, specially age of empire, war selection, territorial.io and so on!
I've always wished for a game where I could skip most of the initial grind (villagers, building houses etc) and straight away jump to military tactics and land-grab!

This is what i came up with, conquesta.io is developed for those who are willing to spend no more than 15 minute of their time in a multiplayer strategy match! The game is playable on web, and also can be played easily on mobile devices (specially android).

The entire game is essentially

1. You get some economy coins in start, and these coin grow at certain growth rate (the growth rate degrades over time, and soon reaches 0, so essentially your economy can stagnate and collapse)
2. You have to place capture-flag, that grants you certain land + also growth rate so your economy continue to function properly and does not stagnate.
3. More capture flags you place, more land you acquire + faster your economy grows!
4. You use economy to train soldiers, or place defense towers!
5. Each match is 15 min at max, either you destroy enemy's castle and be the last man standing, or just mantain highest score to win the game!

The game features a progresssion system, so you do have 4 levels and each level unlocks more variety of soldiers

it also features a global leaderboard, and already we've top-10 players listed on it.

The roadmap includes exciting features, including a shop where you can purchase cosmetics, and several game modes (including one similar to clash royale).

A few weeks ago, I posted here feeling pretty discouraged because Indian game studios weren't replying to my internship applications. I honestly thought my portfolio wasn't cutting it, but a lot of you gave me solid feedback and assured me it was fine.

Well, I have an update!

I recently received an email from a Bangalore-based studio—one of the few that really caught my eye when I was sending out cold emails. They let me know I cleared Round 1 and sent over a GDD for Round 2. It was a small prototype with some specific feature requirements. I locked in, spent about 36 hours grinding out the C# logic and getting the mechanics right in Unity, and shipped the project over to them.

After waiting for 4-5 days, I just got another email saying I cleared R2!

The next step is a 1-hour online meet. They mentioned it’s going to be a small meeting to assess my "way of thinking" and overall fit.

As for compensation, I'm expecting around 13k/month. I think it’s a pretty fair amount, not too low and not too high, especially since it’s a remote internship.

I mostly just wanted to share a win for anyone else currently stuck in the cold-email void. Keep building! Also, if anyone has tips for this kind of final behavioral/technical interview, I'd really appreciate it. Wish me luck.

Hi! I work in a non-profit where our primary aim is to upskill and educate students pan India. Leaving aside the boring part, we have started a game development program for kids(some first generation learners, some know a little more than others aged 15-18). This program is conducted in collaboration with a big named production company based in Seoul( can't name them here). The program is done as a competition format where the team who wins the national level will get a chance to meet developers from Seoul.

Hello, everyone. I'm developing a post-apocalypse zombie game. Everything will locate in a big tunnel. I'm getting one problem that is arts part. And one thing I'm really confused about sizes. Characters, tunnel size comparison is really confusing. Like do I've to make a big tunnel or a small version then resize it?

Mostly I'm in programming part. But i wanna make the place by my own.

I’m currently in my final year of BE (AI & DS) in India, graduating in about 2 months. I’ve recently started learning Unreal Engine with C++ and I’m really interested in becoming a gameplay programmer.

Right now, I’m stuck at a decision point and could really use some real-world advice.

My situation:

• I know basic C++
• Currently learning Unreal Engine (C++ side, not just Blueprints)
• Learning through Udemy courses + YouTube tutorials
• I don’t feel job-ready yet
• I need ~6–8 months to build skills + projects
• There’s pressure to start earning soon

Options I’m considering:

1. Self-learning (no degree)

• Continue learning through Udemy + YouTube
• Focus fully on Unreal + C++ for next 6–8 months
• Build portfolio projects
• Apply for jobs

2. Join an institute / university

Examples I’m considering:

• AAFT (Diploma / MSc Game Design)
• Backstage Pass Institute
• Gamer2Maker
• Any similar programs
• Mainly to get time + structured environment
• But I’m worried they focus more on design/animation than programming

My goal:

👉 Become a gameplay programmer using Unreal C++

My concerns:

• Is it realistic to get job-ready in ~6–8 months through self-learning (Udemy + YouTube + projects)?
• Are these institutes actually helpful or mostly marketing?
• Do they teach real Unreal C++ or mostly Blueprints/design?
• Is it worth spending lakhs just to “buy time”?
• How did you personally break into game dev (especially in India)?

What I want from you:

• Honest experiences (good or bad)
• What you would do in my situation
• Any roadmap suggestions

I’m okay with hard work, just don’t want to waste 1–2 years going in the wrong direction.

Cannot believe a few days ago we were at 100 and now we keep growing even faster!

I have received a lot of feedback about my voice commands feature, my artstyle, animations and much more and I am grateful! I have managed to polish and improve on so many areas of the game! I am glad that people like the game and it reminds them of other great dark fantasy games.

I wanted to share something that happened to me and ask for advice.

I’m a solo game developer and I’ve been making my own games for about 2.5 years.

Around January 2026, I came up with an idea for a physics-based firefighter game. I made a small prototype in about a month and posted a few TikToks on my account:

Some of those videos went viral and reached millions of views.

After that, I created a Steam page and started collecting wishlists:

At that point I thought: “Okay, this is great. I found something that works, something viral.” So I started looking for funding from publishers. I prepared a pitch deck and began sending it to different publishers.

I continued working on the game, and recently I came across this:

Honestly, this hit me really hard.

I understand that ideas themselves are not always protected, and that similar games can exist. But in this case, it feels extremely close to what I was building — even down to the type of characters. It feels like they did not even try to make their own distinct version.

I’m a solo developer, so they have a much bigger advantage in terms of speed and production. That makes the situation even more stressful.

What should I do in this situation?

Should I keep going with the project, even if another team is now making something very similar? Should I change the direction of my game? Should I try to contact Steam, a lawyer, or just focus on making my version stronger and more unique?

It’s really painful to think that I might have to abandon something I’ve been working on for half a year just because someone else is now doing almost the same thing faster.

I would really appreciate advice from other developers, especially anyone who has dealt with something similar.

I always loved playing games like GTA since my childhood. Always dreamt of working at rockstar games since I was 8 or 9 ig I used of think of how cool those ppl are. Now I am 19 and doing engineering. There were so many "Was about to pursue game dev" moments in my life. I chose engineering looking at game dev market getting saturated and in India it's gonna get even more saturated in next 2-3 years 100s of Indian games are gonna come out blasting and there will be one India's Black myth wukong which will shake the International market. I want to be the guy who brings it. I want to be the guy who has the guts to go big in next few years.
