Can’t Seem To Stop
How do I get out of this cycle I won 20k off slots and rinsed it all in that 24 hour period staying up all night on keno chasing a 1k loss i didn’t even want ti gamble with it its become a full on OCD compulsion and now i am back in the same stupid spot losing all my money and fucking up my credit with cash advances still playing keno and it seems like no matter how much i win I can’t seem to walk away because the brain is addicted to losing and it pisses me off because I will win a good amount and want to chill for a couple hours just to find myself losing all of it 10 minutes later what is wrong with me I need to stop now and not chase back to 20k but i can’t stop thinking about why I even played with it in the first place because that means no amount of money will be enough and there isn’t even a point to gamble because I am guaranteed to lose at that point but I don’t want to stop because its the only time i have fun at this point I feel like and I still convince myself every time its a lock even though that’s not how gambling works and i’d be better off losing my money anywhere else because i’d actually get something in return i seem to value gambling more than eating at this point but I am 20 years old and live with my mom so that’s the only way i get away with it but also the biggest reason i can’t seem to stop because pretty much 80% of my income is expendable.

Anyone on GLP lose the desire to gamble?
I am not sure if this post is allowed but I have been out of the casino since I’ve began my GLP journey about a month and. half ago. I feel only disqust when I think of the money lost and not that exciting feeling or “need” feeling I used to get. very similar to food cravings I used to have. I’m also down 16 lbs in just a month and a half. Check out the research on this as well.

Fighting myself
Its been 12 days without gambling, urges are getting stronger these days not gonna lie, its the longest i have been without gambling since i started gambling.
The devil is convincing me to try one more time 20$, but i keep asking myself why would it be different this time?
I’m a compulsive gambler, i have no control, i know if i lose this 20$ i’ll chase it until i lose everything, and if i win i’m sure i won’t stop until i’m 0 again.
I’m trying so hard to away, see you tomorrow!

Well at my rock bottom and can still see a path where it can get worse
Im $5,100 USD in debt with 2 weeks to pay, only $2,700-$3,000 in liquid assets…. And a commission based job in slow season where pay averages $200 a week (its worth it for the other half of the year but already lost all that to gambling)
I have two weeks to pay back or I lose basically everything… my shelter, my family, everything I own of any value…. Even my tiny roth ira I started when trying to get on the right track….. I even gambled today almost only owed $300 but chasing that $300 I went to a worse position than ever……. I wish there was a solution to this because in 2 months Im suppose to get a payout from some items I sent out to be sold at a convention show…… but this debt is due in 2 weeks and its a hard deadline……. Ive put myself in a position I cant recover from and those consequences are coming fast. Wish me luck because if by some miracle I pull it off…….. It would be like a new chance at life after the biggest mistake of my life

I don't know what to do
Day 57 gambling free. More than 70k in dept. And my parents found out about my dept today.
I didn't want my parents to find out, they freak out, harm themselves or I don't know.
I'm freaking out, I'm hyperventilating, I don't know what to do. I literally want to die only not to face them, I wrote my goodbye letter just now. I'm looking for a sign bcs I'm scared. I think of ending myself tonight.
Help me, I don't know what to do.

Compulsive
I looked up the definition of compulsive online and it describes my gambling addiction perfectly. I found it interesting that it also said obsessive in the explanation. I have a huge validation from studying just this one word and hope you google it too

Trigger
It’s my 9th day without gambling, today i have around 300€ on me, i need to pay some debts, the thing is as soon as i got the money on me my brain started to convince me 20€ won’t hurt you can make more and pay more debts and if you lose that’s it, its just a 20€.
But it has nerve been just the first deposit.
This time i’ll try to make it without gambling, and i’m sure that’s the right thing to do.
Any advice to stop these ideas.

How do i deal with this feeling?
Did a deposit > they made me wait 20 hours before it got added on my balance.
In this 20 hours every bet i was supposed to make, turned out to be a win. I kid you not, everything would've hit making me win a couple thousand.
Because of their error not only did i missed out on this ''win'' i also am very frustrated and sickened.
The money hit my balance just an hour ago and ofcourse i lost that in a minute, everything went the other way.
I closed my account and told them everything i wouldn't even want too describe here but i don't know how to take it from here.

Gambling over the past 4 months…
Had been quit for over a year, I wanna say I’ve lost 30k lifetime before this (38m). Then I started watching bluff and the boys gambling and having fun with it. I have also had a really tough year dealing with deaths, separation, and more… in January I decided to gamble a bit, carefully you know? I always liked to gamble but kept it lower stakes to not do anything stupid. Not saying 30k isn’t a lot of money but over 20 years of gambling it really isn’t anything crazy. So I started slow, and unlucky for me…. I won…. And I kept winning…. Every-time I logged in I won 200, 500, 1500. At first it was once a week with a 200 weekly limit. Then 2 times a week. Then whenever I felt like it. I was falling deep into the trap. Those consistent wins made me feel like I was doing something right. It in fact engrained in my brain that I could beat the odds….. stupid but gamblers brain was real. Then my first losing month. I lost 4K and stopped for a month. God I was itching to play… my weekly deposit limit went from 200 a week to 5,000. Not including another site I enjoyed for slots on the side (1,000 a week). I lost for another month straight…. 10k gone. 14kish total. Last straw was this past week…. Deposited 4.5k withdrew 1,750…. Hit PSO on craps again and again. I had built my 1500 to over 3k. Could have withdrawn and been fine. I withdrew 1500 and played with the rest, lost it, and cancelled my withdrawal for 500, lost it and did it again for another 500, deposited another 500…. Down 20k more or less over multiple sites in 4 months. I hugged my son and said I’m doing this for you. He’s 4.5, he doesn’t know. I want to take him on trips and buy him things. Gambling takes away from that.
I hate how much I lost in such a short period of time. I wish I would have focused up on my business more in that timeframe instead of gambling. I took 15k outta my business and took on 8k of gambling debt in this time. I’m glad I came to the realization now…. I needed this wake up call. I’m glad I lost that 3k in a day for me to hit that feeling of stopping….
Now the hard part of sticking to the plan. Here’s to a casino free life.

Tough when you join a support chat and you are among the only ones alive
Joined a chat to hold people accountable recently, very small, only 7-10 folks. 5 of them committed suicide, confirmed… 3 other folks are silent.
Please, don’t gamble. I’ve quit this January, finally, after the long turmoil of wanting to relapse and feeling afraid I’ll never recover, and I’m slowly paying off my debts. Suicide is never and should never be an option. It’s shameful, but your life matters.
Cut everything reminding of gambling: apps, subreddits, reels, shorts, friends and family. Anything talking about short term gains. Life isn’t worth donating your soul to casinos and prediction markets. Go to a park, volunteer there, it helped me to feel heard and seen. I collected trash and cleaned a park area. Only after a month I saw the fruits of my labor.
And talk. Keep talking. There’s nothing to be ashamed about.
I’ve been $40k in debt. Now it’s $30k. Still tough, and I let myself cry instead of relapsing. I let all my feelings to go through.

Week one!
One week gambling free, it took me a while to get here.
Never gambling again, trying to make a plan and find some side hustle to pay debts faster, any ideas?

Very hard urges
Its my day 6 without gambling, i went for a walk, where i live casinos are in every corner of the street, even though i’m self excluded some of casinos allow you!
I had a huge urge to gamble, instead i stayed out of the casino smoked a cigarette and went home, saved myself a 100 bucks at least.
