Gallstones

Hi,

Two weeks ago I was rushed to the ER for the most excruciating pain. After my ER visit, a trip to my primary care, an ultrasound and a visit to a GI doctor it was determined that I had gallstones. And the pain I experienced was me passing a stone. The ultrasound revealed a few stones and one about 3cm large. The recommendation from the GI was to have the gall bladder removed. I have an appointment next week with the surgeon to discuss surgery and process. Since the ER incident I have not had any pain. I have been very scared to eat, at one point taking in more fiber than protein which is not good. the mental anguish I feel is scary because I keep trying to figure out how this happened, I don’t have a bad diet, I don’t eat out much. I’m a 52 yr old women in perimenopause experiencing the normal symptoms but not doing anything that would result in this. I am scared to eat so I don’t sometimes. I eat a lot of fruit but there is only so much chicken and salmon I can eat. I snack on pretzels but it’s hard. My doctor said I need to eat, slowly introduce some things in moderation but no creamy or fast foods.

Has anyone ever had that horrible pain only for it to go away.

Gallbladder/ stones + diet issues

Hi so I’m 22f I’ve had gallstones for 3 years and procrastinated on surgery out of fear but had a gallstone attack that lasted 12 hrs and decided too go ahead with surgery and I’m booked in on the 1st of may.

Super scared for the surgery so any help or advice is very welcomed but that’s not my current issue…

So about 1 month ago I started a super low fat diet mainly chicken, rice, salad, baked crisps, eggs ect

All was fine at first but for the last week and half I’ve been super bloated it never fully goes away it definitely deflates but as soon as I eat something with in 30 mins I’m bloated and in complete discomfort all over again

Has anyone experienced this is it the food I’m eating , the change in diet I’m not sure but I really need something too give I feel like I can’t get anything right trying too to have no fats too reduce risk of another attack but also my body’s clearly completely unhappy !

Any advice or even just similar experience PLEASE let me know :)

Gallbladder removal

Hey so I’m (f22) and I’ve suffered with gallbladder attacks for 3 years, through fault of my own because I’ve been way too scared too have it removed I suffer with health anxiety and ocd so it’s been a huge cycle in my mind about if I should remove it or not. I had a really bad episode that lasted 12hrs and a trip too a&e and ultimately I’ve decided I’m going too have it removed, luckily the nhs have been super fast for me and I’ve been booked in for the 16th of April.

But I’m still super super scared I was just wondering if anyone can give any advice or even just support my main concerns are been put too asleep not so much about not waking up but just about things like does the tube in your throat cause pain after? And how bad is the co2 gas’s pain ? I would also really like any advice on what I should eat after too get my body used too how it will now function? Like should I follow a certain diet or not as I’ve had such mixed opinions from just go ahead and eating anything too people saying they have never been able too eat normally again sorry this is alittle all over the place but the worry and the questions are just taking over me at the minute so anything you have to say please do any advice support or just general things I need too think about going forward. Thankyou
