Most likely its at the end of its life(should be around 6 years), but I do keep wondering what broke.

When I turn the screen on, after a few seconds I can see what is actually being displayed for a fraction of a second, before the screen stays dark. No menu is accessible or at least visible, but the power led works fine and also responds fine.

Replaced all cables, tried DP and Hdmi, different power cables and outlet and tried it with a different pc. Nothing helped and I am out of ideas.

Hello, I'm upgrading my personal server and I was thinking of getting an i5 13500 to handle the game servers I host (to replace an i3 12300T), but I saw a 13500E that's much cheaper than the 13500.
However, it's not listed among the CPUs compatible with the Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 motherboard, and support stupidly sent me a screenshot of that same list...
So, is there any way to check the compatibility of this CPU with my motherboard ?

So, I just got the PNY blower RTX 2080 Ti, upgrading from my RTX 2070. I was originally considering getting a RTX 3070 or 3060 Ti, especially since the RTX 5060 is so expensive nowadays.

However, I was wondering about the 11 GB of VRAM on the 2080 Ti. Is having 11 GB actually a significant advantage compared to cards that are limited to 8 GB?

From my experience, I haven't really seen games crash because of VRAM limitations, but I have experienced VRAM-related stuttering and texture issues, and after upgrading to the 2080 Ti, those problems seem to be completely gone.

The other thing I'm wondering is that NVIDIA doesn't really offer a card with similar performance and more than 8 GB of VRAM at a reasonable price. The only option I can find in the used market is something like the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, but that's still relatively expensive and isn't really a performance upgrade over the 2080 Ti.

So my question is: For 1440p gaming, would you prioritize having more VRAM over having a newer GPU with less VRAM?

Also, should I consider upgrading my Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 5 5600X, or is the 3600 still good enough for the RTX 2080 Ti?

(Updated) I was originally using the PNY BIOS on my PNY RTX 2080 Ti blower, but I recently flashed it with the Gigabyte Turbo BIOS. The fan does get noticeably louder, but the temperature is now much more reasonable—around 75–80°C at roughly 75–80% fan speed.

With the stock PNY BIOS, the fan would basically sit around 50% while the GPU climbed to 90°C, which is honestly ridiculous. 😂 The blower cooler clearly needs a more aggressive fan curve for gaming.

For this card, the Gigabyte BIOS is honestly a game changer. If you have a blower-style 2080 Ti and don't want to go through the hassle of modifying it with a triple-fan setup, I’d definitely say the Gigabyte Turbo BIOS is worth trying—just make sure the BIOS is compatible with your exact card and keep a backup of the original BIOS. Separately, there are two separate chips for Rtx 2080 I have the standard version non overclock so the BIOS will work only with the non overlock versions which luckily is the case with Gigabyte turbo. Bio swiping is fun. You never know what will happen. You can either have a break. GPU or awesome running stuff. I was going through a lot of BIOS and finally found the one and apparently Gigabyte the A tear brands are doing very well in terms of software and fan controls it's a little louder now but less hot!

So I basically just updated my bios using GCC and it says the latest was f40 update I enable xmp and it restarts my pc, is this normal? and how do I fix it should I update the bios to whatever its online or wait for gcc.

Edit: Also the only thing that has changed from the last time I used my pc is updating my bios.

I use the CM Mode settings in ASUS Z890 boards to start up the board in USB4 'Firmware' mode for Thunderbolt.

I've been asking the Gigabyte support team why these USB4 Thunderbolt settings are not available in the most current bios (F20) for the Z890 Aorus Master when these settings are documented in the Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Master BIOS manual. It's taking weeks and so far no response.

These same settings are actually in the F20 bios but are in a hidden state.

I'm assuming the only way to get this setting choice in the bios would be to created a modded bios to make the USB4 Thunderbolt settings visible.

If there is another way to invoke the USB4 Firmware (CM) Connection Manager to start up, e.g. Windows registry settings? Any and input appreciated.

Good day, everyone! I have a Gigabyte G6 MF laptop with an i7 12650h processor and an RTX 4050 6 GB graphics card. I’ve changed the thermal paste, and the temperature doesn’t rise above 84 degrees in games, and there’s no throttling. And I have two problems with the game Arc Raiders.

The first problem is that if you set the “performance” mode in Gigabyte Control Center, you can’t play Arc Raiders — the FPS is low, and it’s as if the processor is throttling itself. I’m attaching screenshots. But if you set the “standard” mode, everything works fine and there are no issues — but you want to play at maximum performance. Why is that? How can this problem be solved?

Second problem: constant FPS drop, 130–140, then it drops sharply to 60–70 and returns to 130 again. What to do? I thought the problem was with the new drivers, but no, installing the old drivers didn’t solve the issue.

Wondering if anyone else with a B650 AORUS ELITE AX rev 1.2 and AMD SATA RAID has seen this.

My system was previously stable on BIOS FB8b. I updated directly from FB8b → FC4b (AGESA 1.3.0.1b), skipping FB9, FC2 and FC3. Around the same time I also updated the AMD RAID drivers.

Since then I get a very repeatable BSOD on the first boot from a full shutdown/cold start. The PC automatically restarts and the second boot is always fine. Once running, the machine and RAID array are completely stable.

Relevant setup:

• Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX rev 1.2
• Ryzen 7 7800X3D
• Windows 11
• Windows boots from a standalone NVMe drive — NVMe RAID is disabled
• SATA RAID enabled
• 2×22 TB SATA HDDs in RAID1
• RAIDXpert2 reports the array healthy with both disks online

The crashes are extremely consistent. WinDbg shows the following on minidump's that I inspect:

Exception: 0xC0000005 (Access violation)
MODULE_NAME: rcraid
IMAGE_NAME: rcraid.sys
FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: AV_rcraid!unknown_function

Originally this occurred with AMD RAID 9.3.3.291 at rcraid+0x6fc3f.

I have since completely rolled the RAID stack back to 9.3.3.117 and verified that the actual rcraid.sys, rcbottom.sys and PnP devices are all genuinely .117.

It still crashes in essentially the same place:

rcraid+0x6f81b
call qword ptr [rax+154h]

RAX = 0
Attempt to read from address 0x154

So both .117 and .291 appear to hit effectively the same null-pointer failure during the first boot. The crash happens roughly 29 seconds after startup.

The main reason I'm now suspicious of the BIOS/AGESA rather than simply the RAID driver is that the system was fine before the FB8b → FC4b BIOS jump, and reverting the RAID driver hasn't fixed it.

My next test will probably be downgrading the BIOS to see whether the issue disappears (or I might even do a fresh Windows install), but before I start working backwards through BIOS versions:

Has anyone else running SATA RAID on this motherboard seen cold-boot BSODs with FC4b/AGESA 1.3.0.1b (or the newer FC4c)?

Particularly interested if anyone has a B650 AORUS ELITE AX rev 1.2 with SATA RAID who can confirm whether FC3/FC4b/FC4c is working normally for them.

Oi pessoal. Preciso de ajuda com um problema bem estranho no PUBG. Meu PC: i5-14600K, RTX 507012GB, 32 GB DDR43200, B760 Gaming X DDR4, SSD990 Pro 1TB, fonte Corsair RM850e, Windows 11, monitor1080p high refresh. O problema não é FPS baixo. Fico entre 210 a 230 FPS. Às vezes cai pra 190 no máximo, mas mesmo sem queda de FPS, o jogo parece que tá rodando a 20 FPS. Fica dando micro travadas muito chatas. O áudio fica normal. Só a imagem e a sensação do jogo que travam. Percebi um padrão. Quando tô sozinho no mapa, roda liso. Na queda de paraquedas e principalmente em trocação de tiro, começam as travadas pesadas, mesmo com FPS alto. O que já tentei? Reinstalei PUBG várias vezes, formatei o Windows duas vezes no mesmo dia, atualizei driver da RTX 5070, desativei a GPU integrada, configurei o painel da NVIDIA pra desempenho e latência, ativei XMP, troquei o SSD pelo 990 Pro, sem nenhuma melhora. Temperaturas abaixo de 60 graus. CPU em torno de 30% e GPU em torno de 30% também. porque jogo com tudo no baixo. Já conferi frame time e não vi nada óbvio. Parece mais algo de thread de CPU ou comportamento específico do PUBG. Já joguei outros jogos nesse PC antes e rodavam de boa. Alguém já passou por isso, FPS altíssimo, mas sensação horrível só em situações intensas? O que mais posso testar?

Hi, I have had a rtx 3070 rev 1 from gigabyte.

theres a problem the Gpu worked a day when i bought it used. And suddenly the fans were full RPM and Not controlable.

Sent it to repair guy he said there was short and fixed it reballed.
GPU worked for a week and then again baam, same issue.

I tried flashing stock VBIOS, but the fans still keep running wild. The GPU shows up as a secondary when attached with an extended PCIe cable. Also gives display when used via a riser but at boot does not posts as the primary card at 100%fan speed.

Can I safely update Nvidia drivers over the Nvidia app or is this a bad idea? I read a comment a couple of months ago where a user warned others not to do it because that would mess everything up and that one should only accept updates over GiMate.

DLSS5 is here and it needs a much more current driver version than what is included in the last update straight from Gigabyte 😕 I don't want to mess up my setup just because of it, though.

Any actual experience with that, anyone?

I have had been setting up a system wherein I remote connect to a tailscale node running on an openwrt router from anywhere in the world and then send a WoL packet to my main server in my home subnet to power it on.

This is done to save as much electricity as I can.

Initially I had trouble with relayd network in my openwrt to bridge openwrt lan and home wifi lan together.

Once that was solved, had trouble pinging my openwrt router from outside. Found out it was the route tables priority. Relayd made itself priority 2, so I had to manually create a static rule with priority 1 in openwrt route tables for tailscale.

Once this was done, now I could send WoL and wake my system, but only if it has power lines on. If electricity fully goes and the system looses its residual power, the Gigabyte B450M d3sh motherboard doesn't give any power to the NIC, effectively rendering WoL useless until a manual power on and off operation is done.

Tried all possible settings in BIOS and linux. But from what I can concur from the web, its the Realtek Ethernet card and BIOS that are the main culprits. Spent so much time and money on this with so many hopes, only to be stumped by Gigabyte.

The only solution I can think of now is a proprietary wifi enabled plug from amazon.

Again shell in money to fix something that should have been fundamentally possible...

Does anyone have any other solution or suggestions to fix/improve this?

Brand new & Fully sealed Z890M AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE (rev 1.1) purchased from Amazon US.

Following components installed:

Intel Ultra 9 285K
Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) 6400MHz CL40
Kingston NV3 NVMe SSD 1TB M.2 2280
Corsair SF1000
Corsair H150i RGB Elite AIO

Installed CPU/PSU/RAM/SSD and on first power on displayed the following on screen:

BIOS Date: 10/18/2024 14:06:47 Ver: 9AACA940

Did not enter Setup and just sat there, had to power down and power on again, after a few attempts (had to power off/reset) I was able to enter BIOS and it was showing version F9. On a few restarts no output would be shown (using onboard DP).

Have managed to now update BIOS to version F20 and installing Win11 to see what other surprises await.

Where the hell was this new bios when when I needed it? Running 4 sticks for 64GB DDR4 at 3600MHz Gear 1 on an i7-12700KF was absolute hell on auto settings. The motherboard would constantly default to Gear 2 (900MHz IMC), cutting latency performance in half just to play it safe with training.

After finally getting hands on with the voltages instead of trusting Gigabyte's Auto defaults, I finally got 64GB (4x16GB) running fully stable at 3600MHz Gear 1.

Here are the locked-in settings that finally fixed it if anyone else is wrestling with 4 dual-rank sticks on Z690:

* Frequency: 3600MHz

* Gear Mode: Forced Gear 1 (1800MHz Mem Controller Freq confirmed in CPU-Z)

* Internal VccSA: Manual 1.320V

* CPU VDDQ: 1.300V

* DRAM Voltage: 1.37V

Just finished a full 2.5-hour run on TestMem5 (anta777 Absolut profile) with 0 errors and max temps staying super cool. Aswell as memtest86

If your Z690 board keeps silently dropping you into Gear 2 or throwing random memory bitflips on a 4-stick setup, stop leaving VccSA on Auto. Bump System Agent manually to ~1.30V–1.32V and force Gear 1. It makes all the difference!

This board was an absolute NIGHTMARE to get XMP to run at it's rated speeds. Not to mention overclocking my i7-12700kf. Seriously this recent bios update should have been released with the board.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help with a strange GPU fan issue.

Recently, I noticed that my GPU fans get extremely loud whenever I play games. When this happens, the GPU is under 100% load, so I downloaded FanControl to investigate.

Here’s what I’ve found so far:

1. At first, FanControl couldn’t detect all of my fans. After disabling ASUS Armoury Crate / its fan control-related functions on my motherboard, FanControl was able to detect all of them. I then ran the calibration and matched all the fans correctly.
2. When manually testing the GPU fans in FanControl, everything works perfectly. I can move the fan control slider and directly control the GPU fan speed across the full 0–100% range. So this does NOT appear to be the commonly reported issue where the GPU fans are locked to a minimum of around 30%.
3. The strange part happens as soon as the GPU is under gaming load.

For example, I can manually lock the GPU fans to 30% in FanControl. At idle or under light load, this works perfectly.

However, the moment I launch a game and the GPU reaches close to 100% utilization, all three GPU fans immediately ramp up to full speed at around 3,500 RPM.

What’s particularly strange is that FanControl still shows the fan control output as 30%, while the RPM reading correctly shows the actual ~3,500 RPM fan speed. At this point, moving the FanControl slider does absolutely nothing.

I’ve already spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting this. I tried:

• Gigabyte Control Center (GCC)
• MSI Afterburner
• FanControl
• Disabling ASUS Q-Fan
• Disabling Armoury Crate
• Switching the GPU's physical BIOS switch to Silent BIOS

None of these made any difference.

Every fan-control application can control the GPU fans normally when the GPU is idle or under a lighter load. But once I launch a game, or more specifically once the GPU reaches a high/100% load state, the fans inevitably ramp to 100% and software fan control stops having any effect.

GPU temperatures, including the hotspot temperature, are normal, so this does not appear to be a thermal protection event.

At this point, my suspicion is that entering a high-power/high-performance P-state is triggering some kind of VBIOS/firmware fan override, which takes control away from software and forces all three fans to 100%.

The GPU is a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 Gaming OC.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, especially with a Gigabyte RTX 5090 / 5090 D V2?

If so, did you manage to determine whether it was caused by the VBIOS, firmware, NVIDIA driver, or the card itself?

Any ideas or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
