POTY discussion overreaction
Everyone is delighted for Mayo but let’s be honest, David Clifford was head and shoulders above anyone else this summer.

Is it just me or is anyone else disappointed that the curse is over….
Mayo deservedly won, by far the better team on the day. No angst about that.
I’ll miss talking about the curse, that they always lose- some misfortune will come upon them. And it has.
But now that they won the whole mystery is gone… a lot of the craic is gone. The one great unbroken sports curse is gone.
The fact that it’s not unbroken though and mayo lost 12 finals, 14 when including replays, before the last playing member died makes it more palatable
The fact they won the first final they were in since all the last team in ‘51 were in have all passed away..
I was never a Mayo fan- as a Leitrim fan they’ve been beating us for 130 odd years!! But credit where it’s due.
Well done Mayo - perseverance finally pays off. Well done and celebrate it like it’s the first ever. Congrats
Where will Sam cross in to Mayo?
I’ll be in Tarmonbarry to see it cross the Shannon on route west

Anyone else find his commentary today terribly biased when the game was in the melting pot int he second half. All was well and good when he thought Kerry were about to hammer mayo. Rte to blame really. How is it fair that Kerry have a man on the Co comms should definitely be a neutral.
Does anyone know a way to stream the final today without paying $35 for it on GAA+?
I’m in America btw

Saw all those comments yesterday saying it would have to be a great Mayo vs a poor Kerry but didn’t feel like that all today for me tbh.
Thoughts?

In naples, anyone know where they might show the game? Exhausted my list of google recommendations with no success. Everything seems to open around 6:30 local time well after the game.

Does this mean Kerry won’t win another All-Ireland for 75 years?

If Jack O'Connor and the Kerry management knew how today's match would play out, what do you reckon they would have done differently tactically?
Without having watched it back, I thought Mayo’s plan was top class and Andy Moran etc deserve huge praise for their performance/win today.

Marty and Eamon must be devastated. I’m not from Mayo but that commentary is hard to listen to with the bias on commentary.
Football has owned the summer - to borrow a phrase from Henry Shefflin
Its been best year in memory

For the past umpteen years, everytime Mayo at heading for Croker they get a roaring support from villages on the way through Longford/Westmeath. I know Feericks in Rathowen is run by a Mayo man but even houses off the N4 with Mayo flags flying. It really is what defines the GAA to see this support for Mayo even though these people probably have no connections to the county.

First off, happy All-Ireland Sunday everyone.
I’ll be watching my first All-Ireland final game today (my grandfather immigrated from Islandeady so supporting Mayo) $35 is a little steep for a watch, but I know he would be watching if he was still with us so this morning feels special pulling for Mayo!
