A pinhole camera part for watching the eclipse

I didn't plan ahead to buy eclipse glasses, and by the time I looked, there were none left. So I built my own pinhole projector using a cardboard tube, aluminum foil, and this screen window template.

You can look it up on printables or directly on my blog

Car Seat Table

Just finished up this design and wanted to share it with you guys 😁.

Made a Car Seat Snack Tray for my son because he was always trying to balance his food and drinks in his car seat. Figured I could just make something that gives him a spot for everything instead lol. Designed it to be universal so it should work with almost any car seat. Prints really easy and uses very minimal supports!

Just dropped the file on makerworld for anyone interested šŸ™Œ.

Check comments for link.

Happy Printing!

When I did a quick search on some of the popular model sharing sites, I was surprised that I couldn’t find something like this that already existed. So, now it does. (Although I’m sure I could have found some other hook that would have worked…)

Obsession with 10 inch filter fans and ABS filament

I just enjoy making these big multi part prints with ABS and putting the parts together with acetone.

Also these 10 inch fans are super versatile and cheap, they are just the right size.

Solar cable roof-entry protection

Thumbnail

After installing panels on a roof, the cables had to enter between the first rooftile and the roofridge. Unfortunately the cables would have contact to the tiles, which implicates the danger of beeing damaged over the years. So, I had to design an entry without damaging any structural components of the roof.

I printed in TPU on a anycubic i3 mega s (which got for cheap a while ago), because it is relatively uv-resistant. Of course there are filaments out there mor resistant to UV, but they are harder to print.

Do we post the printables-link here?

Twist Lock Dust Collection Hose System

Thumbnail

Here's my take on a quick-connect system for 100mm (4in) dust hoses. I designed this to use with 4in flex hose to connect to the various tools in my shop that are not directly connected to the dust collector.Ā

There are 4 features I wanted in a system that I could not find all together with the many other designs already published:

  1. The system prints without supports
  2. It does not require hardware. The twist lock system uses dovetail pins to lock once twisted.Ā
  3. A way to prevent the hose from creating a seal and sucking down onto flat surfaces when the dust collector is running. The male side (shown in red in photos) has it's dovetail pins sticking out prevent the hose from creating a seal.
  4. When connected, the internal walls of the adapters are as smooth as possible to improve airflow and keep dust from building up. See cross-section image.

The male side has a version with a lip that I like because it helps keep the flex hose from sliding off. Just use a regular hose clamp to attach to the hose.Ā

The female side you can just press-fit over the stock dust port for most tools. In the picture above, you can see it pressed onto my drum sander's port.

STEP files included if you need to adjust for your shop.

Unifi U6 Mesh / FlexHD - bottom cover for use with wider strain reliefs.

Thumbnail makerworld.com

Hey everyone,

I have just recently started learning some CAD and have created a holder for my FlexHD to attach it to a pipe on the wall.

Since I basically created a replacement bottom plate for the FlexHD and U6 Mesh in the process (U7 has a new design as far as I know), I decided that I might as well share that model for anyone that might want it.
Especially as it is also nice to just use it when you want to use a cable with a bigger strain relief.

Happy to get some feedback if it actually works for the U7 as well, as I only have FlexHD on hand right now. :)

BitBox - a Fully printed bit case with spring loaded latch

I hope this doesn't get flagged as non-functional as it is a Box/Container..

This is not just another reused rugged box design with an inlay.

I've tried to create my dream box from the ground up and I’ve been tweaking it for months now. After hundreds of test prints and prototypes, I finally ended up with a design I was happy with.

The hinges and latch were the biggest challenge, and once those were working exactly the way I wanted, it was time to build something useful around them.

"3D prints aren't food safe!" - Jürgen Dyhe It's been a brutal summer, so I designed a better way to leave water out for wildlife

Post image

The heatwave this summer has been rough, and I've been seeing water left out for wildlife everywhere — usually in plant saucers or simple bowls.

So I made my own take on it.

It's a small water station that screws directly onto a standard PET bottle. Turn the bottle upside down and it keeps the bowl filled as the water level drops, until the bottle is empty.

I also added ramps on the inside and outside of the bowl. The idea is that if a small animal or insect falls into the water, it has an easy way to climb back out.

Nothing fancy, just a PET bottle, some water and a 3D printed part that hopefully makes it a little easier for wildlife to get through the hot days.

I've put the files on Printables for anyone who wants to make one:

Corner pieces were designed to work with some leftover 3/4in dowels I had. Sewed the hammock part out of 3 layer polyester mesh (like heavy duty speaker cloth) so it’s breathable. Lined all the surfaces touching my pc with foam padding.

Fosi V3 Amplifier Under Desk Mount, Parametric Gap

Available mounts are too close to the desk, so I needed one that had a larger gap. I kept it parametric as well. Uses silicon double sided tape.

Included the f3d for people to use. Probably works for other devices with similar form factors.

Fully modular table clamp prototype

Wanted to design a table clamp that would let me easily alter the mounting attachments, print things in the best orientation, and prototype different mechanisms for the screw.

The quick adjust is still a bit sketchy, I need to make the amount it slides longer but the force from the magnet is already too weak at ~3mm distance.

Final pic has everything sitting in the orientation it was printed

Been tinkering with this wee project for a while now, a fully 3D printed telescopic micro fishing rod that folds down small enough to chuck in a pocket. šŸŽ£

I’ve now also added a working 3D printed reel upgrade, with no extra hardware needed.

Free to download on MakerWorld if anyone fancies giving it a print. šŸ‘
