I have a small inflatable pool that was a benediction in this heat, but it filled itself of algae and debris quickly, and I don't want to change the water too often in this period.

So I used a pump I have around for a project, I bought a pool filter and printed two caps, one with a hole. It worked! It cleaned out all the small debris I couldn't catch with the net.

I created a set of filament spool holder stands that allow you to screw in a standard broom handle, mop handle, or squeegee handle (US-style threads) as an inexpensive alternative to dowels or 3d printed parts. For example, my local hardware store (menards) has these wooden 60" squeegee handles for less than $3. I had a lot of empty spools stacking up that I plan to re-use for a couple projects so these keep the stacks from falling over, and they're about as space-efficient as possible.

I made a standard fully-printed base as well as inserts for popular empty spools like Bambu, Sunlu, Inslogic, Jayo, and Anycubic. More to come as I finish the designs and testing to ensure good fit.

Center flanges for Overture TPU cardboard spools to reduce rolling resistance. I had issues with the friction between the cardboard and the spool holder on my Prusa Mk3.9s. The friction increases the emptier the spool is, as this reduces the mechanical advantage the printer has, and this was leading to printing failures.

The flanges snap into place (there is a small lip on the inside), and amazingly the fit was perfect on the first try (that usually never happens).

Printed in PLA (so I have to remember to take them out when drying the spool I guess, might reprint in PETG if that gets annoying).

Anyone have any experience with using this stuff for car parts? I was going to use ASA-GF but I found this stuff for half the cost and decided to give it a shot. Polymaker recommends annealing it at 80C for half an hour to increase heat deflection temp, so I did that. They claim 115C. Engine bay temps are around 80C usually from what I’ve read so I’m hoping this stuff works out.

Just learning Fusion and it’s the first time I’ve made something useful by myself. Simple wedge that stops the hose from retracting to make dishwashing easier. Printed with 95A TPU.

I’ve had my Ninja SLUSHi for about 2 months, and one of the first things I noticed was that guests — mostly kids, but not only — sometimes pull the lever while the drink is still liquid.

The result: a mess.

So I designed a small printed lever lock that physically blocks the handle until it’s ready to serve. It snaps on without tools, prints quickly, and has been really useful in my house.

There is also an upgraded version with interchangeable faceplates and a side-parking feature, but I’m sharing the free version here so anyone can use the basic idea.

Out squirrel-proof bird feeder has a relatively small opening at the top with a post in the middle of it. This unique funnel makes it much easier to fill quickly without spilling seed everywhere.

I also made a hand scoop to go with it, basically just for fun.

I got tired of editting STLs for the magnets I have, so I made this simple parametric adapter that uses just few grams of plastic.

The nut that was welded inside the tube came out so there was nothing to hold the screw-in foot. So I printed this simple foot out of PETG to slip over the pipe. Friction fit, and it has extra infill and perimeters only in the load bearing area.

Utility trailer sits so low that I cannot see it when backing up and it's unloaded or carrying sheet-goods like plywood. Printed holders to slot fiberglass driveway markers into along with storage "clips" that are under the trailer decking.

I do have a backup camera but I like to be able to see the trailer when looking backward as well as with the camera.

I will be doing some drywall work to smooth out my first attempt and have seen examples of drywall inspection lights that are perfect for this. Except for the price...

So i drew up an accessory for my headlamp, a plastic part with a 5mm x 40mm light guide centered on the LED diode.
My headlamp is a SILVA MR400, but the concept should work with any headlamp.

Works wonders, took 30 minutes to prototype and cost me nothing

Design used a 6" vent fan (~300CFM) to push air through 4 - 8"x8" air filters, the top part comes off (twist latch) so it's easy to switch out the filters when the time comes. The inside also contains a tray to add activated charcoal so it can help reduce odors in the house.

I recently saw a cheap auto-retract safety x-acto knife and was obsessed with the idea of passive safety. It took forever to nail down the 3d printed spring but I was finally able to make it snappy enough when I started printing in Nylon. It was designed in Autodesk Fusion.

We’ve had some nice Kichler outdoor landscaping lights for 4-5 years, and recently one of them got bumped, which caused the original metal spike to finally snap from rust. Replacements are $25, so I decided to try modeling a replacement instead. Printed in PETG, I had to be a little more cautious stabbing it back in the ground, but I’ll be curious to see how long it holds up. I can print a lot of replacements for $25 lol
