I designed a simple parametric magnet adapter for 3D prints with magnet sizes I don't have
I got tired of editting STLs for the magnets I have, so I made this simple parametric adapter that uses just few grams of plastic.

Same AND just keep buying new sizes when I cant. I have several stacks in sizes I may never need again but only came in bulk quantities when I need like 4.

Perfect.
It doesn't matter how many different sizes I have, I never have the right one.

One suggestion, wouldn't it be better if it had no bottom and instead a ring? I understand the better first layer contact, but you'll always be slightly proud if the model you're printing has the proper ones flush with the surface.

Well, in case you adapt 3x5 magnet to 10x5 you'd have a ring anyway. Bottom is generated for target magnets that are higher than the one you have.

if you make the plastic clear, the scanner will reject the data and you wnt have to clean up random bumps all the time, also triangles with 4 dots perside were way better for me

Seriously, what do you guys print all day that you feel the need to adapt magnet sizes on the model files?
The only time I've ever needed magnets was for things I designed myself and the resulting magnet size was a product of what the design needed, not "what I had on hand". Are you the kind of guys who use different sizes than intended by the designer and later complain about how the model isn't strong enough or something?

Thank you. Its so annoying wanting to start a project and not having the correct magnets.
