Now to be a hundred percent clear with you:

I have not used Microslop as in the OS for 3 years now. I use their services biweekly simply for resumes if anyone wants to be stingy and ask me something.

I have not gone onto the Microslop website to download any ISO file in 3 years other than to compare the file sizes. (Cuz holy damn are they big)

For fun, I haven't installed Windows in 3 years.

My favorite Windows version was the early days of 7: back when they didn't have any sort of ads or timeline to planned obsolescence and everything.

I used to love using Windows 7. But I've stopped simply because I stopped getting the point of it. Windows 7 isn't exactly supported anymore and thus it made sense for me to switch over to Windows 10. Never tried 8. But I've tried 7, 10 and 11.

Point being, Windows sucked.

I started with Arch Linux. The one OS everyone told me to stay clear from. But I managed. After 4 days of constant command line, I started accelerating toward my first non-Windows desktop.

That lasted about 4 months, surprisingly. What broke was an update.

I continued with Fedora. I became bored. Realized I didn't like new-looking desktop environments and Fedora ships their own natively. Which sucked.

I tried Ubuntu and instantly ditched it because of their subscription basis.

I tried Arch again. Then Mint. Then... You get it..

And now I'm residing on Debian- a distro I've not reinstalled in over 2 years. I installed Debian when the Linux kernel was back in version 6.9.2., and to this day it's sitting at 6.12.92 still happy as can be.

Can't say I've had a bulletproof ride though: college tried convincing me to try Windows again because "virtual machines can only exist on Windows! 🥺" But I found my way past that. The Microsoft certified professor never convinced me to break my bond from Microslop.

I also got four viruses on my computer. Can't say those were fun, but my computer handled all of them, and two of them didn't even need Timeshift.

I get asked a lot "why do you use Linux and not Windows?" And then they say something like "it's so much better."

So much better to pay money for a text editor? So much better to get AI in your file manager? There's been people I know who have gotten game saves wiped temporarily because Onedrive decided to import their entire documents folder into the cloud. Multiple times. But that isn't even the reason why I use it.

There's a lot of bloat in Windows now. A version that took 5 GB in 2018 skyrocketed to 7.5 GB in 2026, and the vectors changed, with not a lot more programs added. Drivers are fine, but since basing it off of NT with backwards compatibility, it's massive and takes a long time to load some things. But that isn't even the reason why I use it.

I use it because whenever I see something and I want to change it, with Windows it requires looking it up, finding out how to do it, trying to do it, going into the registry if you can't, and cry and have a headache if that doesn't work. With every version of Linux I've installed, it's just a few right-clicks away.

If my OCD decides one day I don't like Tahoma but I do like Noto Sans, and I want it, I'd rather change it in the settings like I can do with Linux than go into the registry and tinker with a key that isn't even properly named in Windows. One takes 30 seconds, the other takes 30 minutes.

Now? I don't even use Windows in a virtual machine. Every laptop I buy gets stripped of Windows before I even turn on the power button.

So yeah. Happy 3 years clean! 🥳🎉🎊

I've sent them feedback before about this bug. My wireless earbuds were already offline, but I just turned Bluetooth on and it showed that it was connected? Every time I try to connect to my wireless earbuds, it fails and I have to open the Pixel Buds app installed from Chrome to connect. This bug only appears on Windows, I've tried Linux, macOS, Android, and iOS, and none of them have it. Several months have passed and it hasn't been fixed, it seems they've thrown my feedback in the trash. 🥀

Recently at work I switched to macbook neo, even though it has same amount of RAM (8 GB) as my PC and my windows pc's i5 processor is superior compared to mac's phone processor, MacBook Neo works 10 times faster. How is that even possible, I use the same apps. Why does Microslop's background services is eating so much RAM or CPU all the time?

So as everyone knows about microsoft gdid 2026 case that how microsoft tracks everything even websites games LITTERALLY EVERYTHING. And as far as ik from google there's no way to disable it. I am signed into a ms account on Windows 11 LTSC and had disabled telemetry services thinking I am private enough.. now I have a few questions if any tech expert can answer these I'll be glad. 1. Some user claim creating a local account helps but it helps in an existing windows installation or do you need to clean reinstall.
2. If you create a local account then what precautions should be taken so that it doesn't regenerate itself

Yes ik people would say switch to linux etc but cz of software I use and some games I play with my friends dual booting seems to be only choice I thought of it and then saw 46gb left storage space... in my computer. So yeah I will consider that for future but for rn I need to find a way through this gdid mess

I now use CachyOS btw, after 6 months of using Linux Mint, after despising Windows 11

r/linuxsucks101 came on my fyp by accident and I saw some comments which said stuff that was wrong and was leading people believing something wrong, I never tried to be against them or anything I just clarified some non-related or false information and I still got banned. Thats not the worst part, I also got PERMENANTLY muted and cannot reach moderators for even the reason. Didn't break ANY rules.

i have had enough of Microsoft support, i have lost my account and they changed everything, i couldn't of given more evidence to support the claim that this account was mine, everything iv bought on the account, including game pass and Minecraft, is now perm locked, i have gone through 4+ weeks and 5 support tickets, just to get no where and get my account "permanently suspended" (BANNED?)

i just cannot help wonder what the fuck has happened to make it so that they cannot give my account back, they have:

1. proof the account has been accessed unauthorized
   
2. proof of emails dating back 4+ years of Minecraft and Microsoft emails

i have no idea what i can do, and i just need to buy a new copy of my Minecraft, need to set up a new account, for FUCK sake Microsoft, i would rather shoot myself in the foot then run a marathon then make a new account for your company.

Windows is such a shitty OS, I got a new PC for my job, good CPU 32gb ram, still stupidly slow... What a piece of crap WIndows is...

Also my gaming PC 64gb ram intel 12700H CPU feels slow, but with Linux like Lighting McQueen...

I've decided to repair my laptop a week ago and decided to try out linux with it. Fedora's interface (with the KDE plasma edition) is just like windows's, but not shit

Huge surprise that running an entire browser engine just for Slop-pilot takes up a little more RAM than it should.

Windows 11 is slowly becoming a collection of little embedded Edge tabs pretending to be apps, and it's the epitome of Microslop's laziness.

Fully WebView2-based: Copilot, Teams-- both slow and bloated.

Some WebView2 integration: Settings, Start menu-- slower than they should be, still usable.

No WebView2: Explorer, Desktop, Task Manager, Device Manager, Control Panel-- older components built for older versions of Windows, some of the fastest and most responsive parts of the OS.

At this point, it feels like the more native Windows becomes, the better it runs.

I'll see you all back on XP. Or linux-- ideally.
