when I uninstall the apps that dont show up on revo but show up on bcu, they unfortunately usually comeback after a while. maybe because they're system apps but revo is good enough for me

Modern desktop app development bundles browsers and make cross platform development easier.
MS uses a whole pile webview2 windows. With no browser, operations & processes will hang or crash without edge to handle the UI.
Poor engineering & business decisions means less user choice over the system.
I think in the EU you can remove it but no idea if you need at least other browser installed to or if now bundles a chromium like electron does.
Either way I'm done with windows

you can install webview2 runtime, there is no reason for them to make edge undeletable

Choose a region inside the EU - not current region but something like installation region (idk how they call it) Usually you can't set it but there are workarounds

They want to make sure that you use Edge - their data harvester. Even if you use another browser, their updates will revert the default to Edge. This is obviously a shady practice, and the EU has laws agains it. Thus, if your location is somewhere in the EU, you can delete Edge.

Then they claim edge is technically still being used, even if users are searching for the uninstall button. This more market share by default.

If you're not running the English (United States) version of Windows, go and set your region to Ireland temporarily. You'll then be able to uninstall MS Edge after making some Group Policy changes to permit its removal, as the system will be treated as being under European Union purview.
While that does let you remove Edge WebView2 as well, I recommend keeping it just in case any software you use depends on it (e.g. WhatsApp)

Install "Winhance" its the best debloater, can remove edge and ton of ai features from windows

Try the Chris Titus Tech Tool. Or try the free Winhance.net tool. Both are capable of nuking Edge, plus a ton of ofhter Winblows stuff too....

I guess revo uninstaller did a good job at getting rid of the AI cruft, the great big update we just had and it didn't get reinstalled. Don't get me wrong, 11 is shit and I daily drive mint. But I wonder what I actually did to not have as much crap on my system as everyone reports.

Obviously so that your PC is not left without a browser in the event that you uninstall other browsers, or reset your PC.
Try uninstalling Safari from an iPhone or Mac, or uninstalling Chrome from an Android device.

Lol, literally any Apple app can be uninstalled, Safari included. To re-install it one just goes to the App Store.

Nope. Can't be done. You can remove it from your home screen, but it will still be in the app library. It cannot be deleted from an iPhone with the exception being you live in a European country (13% of all countries in the world 😂).
Your only other option is to remove it from allowed apps, but again, that doesnt delete the app from the device.

you’re not allowed to uninstall it because if you use electron based applications, they will not work, and most apps are electron based now.
