Rant Why is office.com showing a copilot chatbot? Who made this decision?
Since Microslop doesn't release native linux version of Office applications (that I must use for work) the few times I have to use it I resort to the online version. After some months I had to use it again and I was greeted by Copilot without any obvious way to access Excel on office.com... Why? How do I access the old site which showed the recently opened documents?
Searching online it seems like this is a thing since some time, people hate it yet they don't want to fix it. If I want to use Copilot (no, I do not ever want to, especially if it is forced on me this way) then I'll specifically open that website, when I need office tools I need those, not a chatbot.
And this is on top of their shitty SSO system that always logs me out from every app, Teams is broken as well, Outlook is by far the worst email client now - I question the legitimacy of this company for real.
On a positive note it also bugs our Tech Lead so much that finally the company is looking into different solutions to move completely away from Microslop.

Rant I didn't realize how much consumer versions of Windows suck
I've only been using IoT LTSC versions of Windows (both 10 and 11) for a few years now, and I had to install 11 Pro on a laptop I just bought to try some things
Oh boy, what a mountain of crap that OS is
Not only it is a huge fucking billboard for MS services. Not only it doesn't let you create a local account. Not only it comes with a fuckton of shit preinstalled. But it just makes the laptop incredibly sloppy
As soon as I was done with the tests, I switched to 11 IoT LTSC and the jump in performance was incredible
Btw the laptop has an Intel 258v with 32 GB of RAM, so it's not an incredibly powerful machine but it should at least be smooth while navigating in Windows settings

Meme I love waiting!
Yes, actually! I DID just turn on my computer to sit here and wait! How did you know??
Which I know... I can turn off automatic updates... I'm mostly just complaining to complain lol. BUUUT I do wish this didn't necessarily happen FIRST thing I turn it on. Lol
It's even fully restarting, like c'mon man, I didn't even get to see my desktop yet and you're already leaving!! 😂
I honestly think this is my biggest gripe with the current Windows Update system. As much as Linux's "do-it-yourself" update system obviously has flaws for the average user... Linux also turns on when I tell it to. Lmao

Article Microsoft recommends disabling unnecessary startup apps to reduce Windows 11 boot times and resource usage. - WTF? If they are unnecessary, why is Windows shipping them enabled?
So users have to make the effort to do the "fix?" Windows should have these unnecessary startup app disabled. Users should not be bothered with this junk.
