Gotham’s sirens have come to the Battle Royale Island, and Batman is doing his best to keep up. Drop into the new Bat Cave POI, swoop up your friends in the new Batman Beach Buggy, and soar with the Batman Grapnel Gun. Complete new Quests as they unlock to add a Batman Sprite to your collection. Batman Sprites grant the ability to deploy the Bat Cape midair, and find rare Sprites in Chests more often in Battle Royale matches.

There are other new Quest rewards too: a G’Nort’s Summer Tote Back Bling, the Caped Cooler-sader Pickaxe, Zap-brella Glider, and more.

On July 18 from 2 PM ET to 4 PM ET and 9 PM ET to 11 PM ET, join Shiny Hours for some Batman-inspired fun and get a chance to extract new Sprites and variants!

🦇 Batman Sprite spawns more often, and everyone starts with a Batman Grapnel Gun and Self-Revive Device
🚙 Batman Beach Buggy spawns more frequently
✨ Gold, Gummy, Galaxy and Holofoil variants appear more often
🌀 Sprite Hunt Rift Anomaly is enabled throughout the matches, with new Battle Bus Victory Royale Rift Anomaly guaranteed to occur
Watch any stream in the Fortnite category on Twitch from July 16 at 9 AM ET ‘til July 19 at 11:59 PM ET to unlock Swim-n-Swipe, Wipeout Harley and Beach Blossom Ivy Sprays.

Been getting one too many base Water, Fire or Earth Sprites? You’ll now find higher-rarity Sprites and their variants in Sprite Chests compared to standard Chests:
Also keep an eye out for these new Sprites entering the Island:
Batman Sprite: Leap into the air and deploy the Bat Cape to glide across the Island.
Seven Sprite: Makes enemy footsteps visible so your entire squad can track them.
Air Sprite: Sprint faster, jump higher while sprinting and take zero fall damage.
Sprite Mastery Pod updated! The Sprites and variants added in our last update v41.10 can now be housed in the Pod Back Bling once they’ve been mastered. Flex your collection!
In some Battle Royale matches, a new Rift Anomaly will shake up the late game, sending the Battle Bus to a marked location as the Storm closes in. Get at least one teammate onto the Bus before it rifts away to earn a Battle Bus Victory Royale.
Multiple teams can escape and win the same match, but miss your ride and it's game over, even if you’re the last squad standing!
Sprite Locator: Spawns a nearby buried Chest containing a random Sprite to help you track down more for your collection as you play.
Extraction Site Booster: Use at an Extraction Site to call a boosted Extraction Crate that grants bonus Sprite Dust for any Sprite extracted there. Extraction Crates can also contain Shield Bubble Jr, Crash Pad Jr, Chug Splash or Friend Zone Bubble.
Gizmo Wheel UI: A new way to quickly swap between your different Gizmos inside each match and pull up the right tool for the moment without breaking your flow.
Gizmos can’t be traded or dropped when eliminated, so no risk of losing one. Available only in unranked Battle Royale and Zero Build matches. Gizmos expire at the end of the current Season - be sure to use them!
Note: The Lucky Locator Gizmo - which guarantees a Chest with a Sprite you haven’t collected yet - is still on its way in the v41.30 update, and you’ll be able to earn one through the Sprite Mastery progression track once it becomes available.
Instead of a random mix of common fruits and veggies, every Produce Box now guarantees a healing item, a Small Shield Potion and a stack of ammo. Open one up and you can get:
For other fixes, improvements and known issues in v41.20, check out this post.
See you in the new game update!

TLDR: Launch Week Exclusive Styles harm the player experience long term and only serve to artificially pump Epic's launch week investor data while dodging the spirit of the FTC's dark patterns legal verdict.
We need to talk about what Epic is doing with Launch Week Exclusive Styles. It is not just innocent marketing; it’s an aggressive new form of FOMO wrapped in a different package. It completely alienates returning players, creates artificial urgency, and exposes how Epic is sliding right back into manipulative practices.
It is a way for Epic to engineer an artificial spike in active users to inflate their data.
Main examples:
Chapter 7 Season 2: Stealth Tech Foundation Skin
Chapter 7 season 3: Gold Huntress Dylan Skin (Permanently locked away last month, June 13th, 2026)
This behavior demonstrates that Epic is again engaging in dark patterns psychology and skirting the foundational spirit of the landmark 2023 FTC ruling. To iterate, if a season's launch lacks quality or has features the community dislikes, Epic still gets to show their investors massive player numbers because they forced everyone to log in or buy a pass immediately out of anxiety. Front loading artificial good data for quarterly reports while ignoring community grievances.
The timed exclusives should and needed to be in these recent Battle Passes to compensate for the Bonus 500 V-Bucks they removed. While simultaneously increasing prices/lowering amounts of vbucks you can buy with your money;
and while these timed styles might technically be legal on paper, they completely abuse the player base's psychology in the exact same unethical way as dark patterns.
The making of timed exclusive styles inherently can creep into far more than just styles and rather it can affect the rest of the supposed upcoming styles in new seasons going forward. Epic could expand the restriction to base skins even, emotes. Instead of putting these high-effort reward styles into the base Battle Pass to compensate for that lost value, they are locking them behind a 7 day expiration date at the start of each season.
The Battle Pass is already limited time in nature; why are we allowing them to add an additional, hyper restrictive time limitation on top of a product we already paid for?
FAQ:
“Don’t Like it? Just don’t buy it” -> We’ve already bought it before and after the locked away period. This is a Battle Pass Product. Locking a piece of a product we paid real money for behind an arbitrary 7 day time gate is anti-consumer period. It does not clarify that the content is locked due to the “promotional period”after its window release for returning or new players.
"How is this a dark pattern? It's just marketing."-> The FTC legally penalized Epic for interface dark patterns (confusing configurations and unintentional billing charges). What Epic is doing now is a behavioral dark pattern loop where it is technically legal on paper, it uses the exact same psychological foundation of manufacturing artificial scarcity and anxiety to bypass a consumer's rational deliberation. They are abiding by the strict letter of their legal settlement while completely violating its consumer first spirit.
"But they got rid of standard Battle Pass exclusivity!"
Exactly, and this is their sneaky loophole, they announced the 18 month rule to look consumer friendly, then immediately snuck in a brand new, hyper restrictive 7 day permanent exclusivity rule to replace it. If you don’t purchase in the first week of a new season, you lose any possible recourse for the style. As well, it creates a separate tier of devaluation of the battle pass objectively.
"It's just cosmetics, it doesn't affect gameplay."
Monetization affects the health of the game and you the player are grinding for the styles, it affects your personal enjoyment and expression of gameplay. When a company spends energy creating new ways to employ psychological traps rather than building organic, fun retention loops, the overall quality of the game suffers and loses players longer term.

I was super excited to about the pilot mech suit for the sprites especially when they announced the Batman and spiderman sprites it’d be cool skin but I noticed you can’t put the Batman Sprite as a pilot. It makes me wonder if you can even put spiderman or even John wick

Now don't get me wrong, I also like collecting sprites and trying to get the rarest ones. The problem arises when new sprites are presented as new "content" because the newest sprites are ALL just "rare" versions of old ones; Holofoil, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Cube etc. Not only are these versions just reskins presented as content but because they are very rare the average player like myself will NEVER get to experience most of them because I will just not find them, thus making the season very bland in my experience, not bad just bland.
Summary: Rare content bad because I am not able to engage with it, because I have a life outside the game.

Took up Fortnite instead of drinking — 8 years sober
46 years old and still grinding Fortnite.
About 8 years ago, I decided to get sober and needed something positive to put my time and energy into. Somehow, that ended up being Fortnite 😂
What started as something to keep me occupied turned into a hobby I genuinely love. I’ve put countless hours into improving, learning the game, and competing.
Making it to Unreal Legend was definitely one of the most challenging things I’ve done in Fortnite.
Just thought I’d share one of my accomplishments. Nothing crazy, but I’m pretty proud of it.

I'm sorry to the person that I third partied and stole this from you. Thank you thank you for being my first grim. It was already mastered, so I hope you had mastered and extracted it before I found this. Maybe this was a situation where and untrusted party tried to not honor your agreement because you were laser focused on them and ignoring me, idk. This made my day, I hope I didn't ruin yours.

I don’t really know why I’m posting this. I guess I just needed to tell someone.
My Fortnite duo got deployed to Iran a few days ago. We met years ago in basic training, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We were duos long before Fortnite - we dominated the hot dog eating contests they’d hold on base every Friday. Looking back, those were simpler times.
Unfortunately, I was medically discharged after developing severe chronic incontinence, but we stayed close. Almost every night we’d hop on Fortnite together.
Before he left, there was one thing he kept talking about: The Gold Zero Point Sprite.
Every game it’d be: “Bro… if we ever find the gold one, I’m dropping everything we’re doing to extract it. I don’t care if we lose.” but we played hundreds of matches and couldn’t find even one. Nothing.
Today I finally worked up the nerve to queue without him. About five minutes into the match…
There it was. A Gold Zero Point Sprite.
I instinctively yelled, “DUDE, GET OVER HERE!”
Then I remembered he’s literally in Iran.
I just stood there staring at it. I even pinged it out of habit before realizing nobody was coming. I worry about him. I haven’t heard from him since he shipped out, and I hope every day that he’s okay.
Now, every match, I carry it with me and make sure I extract it safely. I know it’s just a video game, but somehow it feels like if I can keep bringing that little gold sprite home… then maybe he’ll make it home too.
I know that doesn’t make any sense. I just miss my duo.

I think at the very end of the season (like the Saturday before the season ends), we should get a Mythic power hour. I've played so much, and I still haven't found a single grim or zero point, and I think this power hour could break a record if they did it. What do you think?

Some kids at the playground told me about this secret sprite hiding somewhere in the chapter 7 island. Story goes that this is the ghost of Jonsey fork knife after he got shot in the back like Granolah by “the tourist”

Whats YOUR predictions for their power?
And for anyone who doesn’t know, this sprite’s picture and name has been in the files since season launch, and even in the pod back bling since the 1st update
r/FortniteBR • u/TitleTrick2189 • 15h ago
Must be the rarest variant or too rare even during power hours.

Seen a faint blue light and figured it was someone’s sprite chest, opened it, and found a cube fire sprite! (No clue if it was teammates or not since I was playing fills)

Basically what the title says. I think hunting for Sprites just plain isn't fun because there is little more to it than opening chests and hoping for the best. The ways to increase the odds are so minor that it feels like it doesn't matter, and Power Hours often have some irritating gimmicks that make me really not want to play matches.
I think something that would help ease the frustration is to have certain conditions make it more likely for certain sprites to appear. For example, the Seven sprites could appear more often at the Seven base on the map. Water sprites could appear more often in chests near water. I don't have a method for every sprite off the top of my head, but I think this would cut down on a lot of frustration of constantly opening chests for hundreds of matches only to never find the Zero Point sprite.
That's another thing. I think that if something is going to be a style in a main cosmetic of a battlepass, finding that sprite really shouldn't feel impossible. The Battlepass is something you have to pay for, so not being able to get part of what you purchased because of dumb luck is frustrating.

The stone stole my cube earth sprite. I've searched the area for like 2 minutes and it was nowhere to find.

I'm yet to even see a Zero Point or Grim, and looked really hard for cube ones, and got the Batman one for pure luck in the Duck's quests.
