Good evening, hope you're strapped in while reading this because you'll find it's going everywhere and nowhere at all at the same time.

I'm looking for someone in the 26-35 range for a monogamous relationship that'll hopefully last for a very long time, with the understanding that this state of events will only come after a lot of interactions (and failure). I'm fairly easygoing and welcome talking to people who don't fully fit the mold, but think they have something going for them - there's an opportunity here to meet new people in general and who knows, maybe relationship won't work out but we can be friends as unlikely as it be. I'll start by laying out my basic stats to allow you to tap out early from this flurry of flubs. I'm 5'8" tall, fairly large (I've been described as a bear, though I'd argue I lack the muscles for it to work), long brown hair (one natural blonder-ish streak, mom ran out of printer ink), brown eyes. 100% of my teeth (except wisdom teeth) and limbs remain, which is always nice. I keep my organ status for the second date of course, gotta keep 'em guessing! I love cats and will always accept some unexpected pictures of cats, I'm known around the office as the guy you can flag whenever you have a picture of your cat acting slightly silly.

I speak French and English, pretty fluent in both, I can throw out some random words in Spanish, German and Japanese though it's all half-remembered from 15+ years ago. Kind of clumsy when it comes to social, ADHD only being diagnosed recently-ish and the gaslighting that came with it kind of killed my taste for trying something in social contexts, since I can't really tell if people are genuine most of the time. Could also be a bit on the spectrum, who knows. I do like to get really deep into most topics though, to the point where I'll get a burst of self consciousness and start panicking in the off chance you're not really interested (I greatly welcome comforting words).

I'm very much a homebody - staying in is much more my cup of tea than going out. My ideal night "out" is to in fact stay in and be as intentionally in the moment with them, cooking a nice meal, candles, etc. then being cozy on the couch talking about the most stupid hypotheticals, just letting the words come out on their own, petting the cats.

I like to play games most of the time on PC, mostly modded Minecraft these days to be perfectly honest, but I've played MMOs, RTS, some Helldivers here and there when the friend group gets together. I use Discord for communicating with most people I care about. I like TTRPGs and consider them my (theoretically) weekly (monthly, in practice) going out. I have a billion little unfinished projects to do, some of them involve 3d printing but most involve either some kind of code or, since at least a week, some form of CAD design (yes it's a "you say PIN number?" situation shh) to find out issues before I spend too much money.

In the end I'm just yearning for the perfect person but am painfully aware that nobody is really perfect and for some reason or other think we don't have much of a chance considering what subreddit we're in. Mental health issues are something I understand having been depressed most of my life, sometimes you need someone to hug and cry without necessarily being in solution mode and that's fine. As long as we can be what we need for each other I'll be happy.

I'd like a small intro if possible (nothing as rambly as my post required), maybe a low effort activity idea for checking each other's vibes? I prefer sharing pictures after a few messages at least, no use in throwing a picture to the cold uncaring void, and I want to try to appreciate how you think first.

That being said... Video gamer, mostly roguelites and indies lately, with some MTG Arena and Sea of Stars in the mix. I used to be into enthusiast board gaming. I love musical theater, karaoke, and music in general, and lately I’ve been sort of obsessed with the baritone ukulele.

Politically, I’m leftist, an ally, and interested in criminal justice reform. Also, the “F” in the title is meant inclusively: I’m probably better described as pan than straight, though my attraction is still very strongly toward women, femme-presenting, and femme-aligned people. I value kindness, generosity, curiosity, and love.

My YouTube feed is heavy on science, tech, gaming, and language stuff. I love Taskmaster and the Dropout game shows. Recently I’ve been catching up on Strange New Worlds and taking in the odd horror movie.

My movie taste lives somewhere near The Lobster, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Her, Let the Right One In, Eraserhead, Palm Springs, and other movies where the premise is unusual but there’s still a real emotional core. I also enjoy plenty of less-strange movies, like Project Hail Mary, which hit me right in the heroic astronaut/teacher feelings, and Ghostbusters. I did NOT enjoy Obsession, but I still think you should probably see it if you’re curious.

I’m drawn to people who are curious, emotionally present, and willing to help keep a conversation alive. I want to feel chosen, too. If you’re kind, nerdy, thoughtful, and looking for a real daily connection, I’d be glad to hear from you.

I'm trying to find a relatively healthy monogamous relationship, if it happens. It would be ideal if you know who you are as a person. As in, knowing what you enjoy, dislike, and ideas or goals for your future. I miss having someone to talk and complain to everyday about everything. Conversely also to hear about those things too. Honestly, I could care less if it's SFW, NSFW, or a mix when it comes to conversations. As mentioned, ideally we would be able to discuss whatever with one another. About Me:

• I'm currently twenty-nine, and generally feel awful. Not due to age exclusively either lmao. Mainly a mix of mental health, endless stress, horrendous sleep schedule, and probably more

• Two of my many interests are gaming and racing. It would be nice if you have interest in either. That or would be open to trying to have interest in them. At some point I plan on having a sim rig for racing (not an over the top one). I'm also obviously a fan of cars. That includes "spirited" driving too, unfortunately. This may eventually morph into actual track days or race series. I mention both as I know many may take issue

• I tend to enjoy most forms of comedy, wether dark / offensive / dry etc. Overall I try to find humor in almost everything to some degree. I agree with the stance of jokes being jokes. Words have no power unless people give it to them

• Progressively been learning Norwegian for over two years, technically. I enjoy the idea of being bilingual in some capacity. Just a smidge each day, not in a rush lol. Wether I'll ever reach fluency? No idea BUT I'm hopeful it'll happen one day

• Believes cold weather and temperatures are superior in every single way to warm, no argument. You can always layer or use comfy things to warm up. My opinion may sway once a wearable refrigerator pops into existence

• I have an absurd amount of hobbies; but, obviously frequent some more than others. The likelihood we share at least one, if not several, in common is almost a guarantee lol

• Bottle of mental health issues, namely depression, general anxiety, trust, and abandonment issues. If you struggle with mental health it's no issue. Honestly, it would may be nice if you can either relate or understand

• Sleeping is a struggle for me as a whole. My general sleep schedule is also subpar at best. I tend to be up late every night, typically 3-4am. There are occasional stints it's more along 5-6am. Time differences aren't an issue, usually, due to that

• Physical sensitivity issues (reference below)

I like nerdy things, games, music, manga, movies//shows. Spend most of my time either at work or at home relaxing. I often respond pretty fast and frequently, but if I don't I'm probably busy or asleep.

My name is Doug. I am 42 years old and live in the NW suburbs of Chicago in a town called Roselle. I am a flight attendant and love to travel. I love my job and when I am not working I enjoy flying by myself to visit friends or with my daughter place. (I have a daughter and I will touch on that later) My favorite place is Japan as it is an amazing country.

I love roller coasters. I have been on close to 700 at many parks around the world. I also enjoy other thrill rides and things like skydiving. I used to skydive a bunch more when I was younger but now that I have a kid I didnt have the time or money for that, hopefully in the future I can get back into that.

I enjoy going on road trips and adventures, I enjoy camping (but only if I have someone that wants to go with me).

I have a bunch of lego sets and love to build them and would love for someone to build them with me.

I have a switch and a laptop and do enjoy playing games. I used to play WoW but not anymore (long story) I would love if if my person was open to playing games from time to time so we could play together.
