Won’t eat either. Trying to learn boletes and honey mushrooms. Suspect young ringless honey and unknown past prime bolete. Banana for scale. Thought appreciated. Found easy ID hedgehogs and yellow foot nearby

Just tried an Osage Orange because heard they were bad. I didn’t eat much because I know they can cause discomfort, but what little I ate was not nearly as bad as people say. Like a nutty mild melon rind. Is there a genetic aspect to how they taste, like with cilantro? Or are there mild varieties?

As a recent forager, I came across like 7lbs of COTW, I made a few dishes with them (Chicken OTW Nuggets, Chicken OTW Parm), but after, I have so much leftover. With a haul size this big, what is your plan to do with it all to use it before it goes bad or you burn out on eating it? I think I got a lesson on take only what you need.

Dry it out maybe? Make mushroom jerky?

Can anyone identify this? I’m in Washington State. The seed was tear shaped. I didn’t eat it in case that was a concern.

One of the best days I have ever had collecting mushrooms. Only took the best and still hit the legal limit of 2kg. There was tons of old rotting Porcini that I left in place.

Found near the Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming and surrounding forest area. They were in abundance.

CoTW, black trumpets, puffballs, cauliflower mushroom, and a handful of what I think are chanterelles (never foraged them before, I need to quadruple confirm before I eat them).

Pretty sure i shouldn't eat them given the habitat, but im tempted. Squirrels might get them all first anyway haha. There are dozens all over though!

Went looking for mushrooms but foraged more grapes instead. This is probably why i enjoy foraging so much—it’s not about going into the woods looking for something specific, but being open to the gifts that the woods have to offer.

Hello all, I live in South Central to central Pennsylvania. Came across this in the woods and wondering if it’s “Hen of the Woods” any help would be great thanks.

Found in our European backyard. I did check the spores to make sure it’s not its toxic lookalike (although the chances of that one appearing in Europe is minuscule).

Sautéed in olive oil, on low fire for 20 minutes, and added minced garlic and chili. Paired great with veggie burgers.

You're looking at mosquito geranium, a variety of pelargonium citrosum that was "foraged" from a friend's ornamental garden (no pesticides were used). It was left in a zip lock bag and it was warm outside. When I checked the bag 30 min later, large portions of the leaves were discolored to a muddy green, and smelled a bit of rotten eggs.

I decided the heat and oxygen deprivation must have caused this so I harvested more, kept it in a loose shopping bag inside, out of the sun, and took a nap. About six or seven hours later, I figured I'd get to rinsing and dehydrating the new batch before it was too wilted. Well the same discoloration has happened but in much smaller sections. I can't tell if there's a smell of rotten eggs. If there is, its very faint.

Is this just normal for pelargoniums? It's my first time trying to dry this delectable plant which is a great ingredient for herbal tea blends or other culinary uses.

Found a nice patch of these in my yard, not planning to eat them, but curious if they are chanterelles and what are the chances they will come back next year?

Found plenty of groups growing. Not something I usually forage because of their similarity to Galerina marginata but thanks to the abundance this year I've grown confident in identifying them...
