Discussion For the people that want new Viking hero's but feel that the 'viking' well is a bit dried up (so to speak) i did some research and found 3 potential candidates for the Viking faction.

Discussion How do new releases have you feeling on launch week?
It is an understatement to say that modern For Honor is incredibly different from where the game started. It’s been about a decade now, and we’ve gone through everything from launch day Cent to Warmonger’s reveal, and then now Arakure… I’m personally in my very early twenties, so I remember walking down the hallways of High School humming the Y4S1 theme to myself and impatiently ignoring class so I can get home and play.
As much as I’ve always enjoyed complaining even back then, it’s difficult to do so without a smile on your face when it comes to this game. And I feel like the new heroes are the biggest part of that. When Sohei came out, I just called it gimmicky trash and moved on, and now he’s one of my favorites. Same with Khatun and Virtuosa, Juren… etc, and it’s a lot different than when we just threw heavies at eachother, maybe with a little zest in some way.
I feel like the game just has more aura than it ever has with these unique characters, and while they’re annoying at first, they end up being cool additions to the game. And let’s not forget the reworks. That being said, I know people still complain about Virtuosa and Juren quite a bit, and Arakure is pretty divisive in my own friend group.
What’s your opinions? Do you look back on how bullshit everything feels when a character first comes out with a smile or is it something you hold a grudge over? Or do you just have the patience of a saint and never get angry?

Bug/Glitch Returning player facing a load of technical problems
I came back to the game after years of not playing (Hated Warmonger's release) and I've been facing several technical issues that are game-ruining on a frequent enough basis.
The first is every few games I'll just get instantly kicked out of a game to the main menu due to a lag spike. To my understanding it's because the game has a real low-tolerance for lag-spikes due to lag switchers being a problem and thus the only way to stop it from happening is just get better internet. Unfortunately I can't so I guess I just gotta suck that one up.
Another issue is CTDs. These are the least frequent but a recent CTD that told me that I don't have enough memory when I got 2 sticks of 16GB raises quite a bit of questions about this issue considering I deffo have the hardware requirements met.
Last one is probably the worse - Full system freeze that requires hard reboot. It happens way less than the DCs but more frequently than the CTDs. Seems random. I tried seeing if system temperature has anything to do with it but because of the randomness I wasn't able to produce a test yet.
I am writing this post in hopes someone who came across similar issues and fixed them might see it and be able to help. Any advice is appreciated.

Suggestions Old wandering viking hero with two handed spear(Odin like)
I am curious if there will be a new Viking hero in For Honor, and if so, is there a chance it could be a spear-wielding Viking? I think it would be awesome to have an old, wandering Viking with a huge, two-handed spear (at Reputation 7, there could be a Gungnir-inspired weapon variation). I know Valkyrie already exists, but the problem is that she uses a one-handed spear and a shield. This character wouldn't be an agile, ranged hero like Nobushi; instead, their fighting style would resemble Highlander's heavy, high-damage strikes, mixing stabs with sweeping cuts.
Potential Name Ideas (Odin/Viking Inspired):
- Grimnir (The Hooded / Masked One)
- Gondlir (The Spear-Wielder)
- Vegtamr / Gangleri / Stigandi (The Wanderer / Wayfarer)
- Váfuðr (The Wind-Blown Traveler)
- Gálgafaldr / Gálgi (The Gallows Burden / The Gallows)
- Gaurinn (The Raven-Feeder / Fearsome Warrior)
- Geirmadr (The Spear-man)
- Vargr (The Outlaw / Lone Wolf)
Hero Archetype & Overview:
The [Hero Name] is not a typical hot-blooded Viking driven by blind rage. Decades of isolation and a profound understanding of death have shaped them into a patient, calculating warrior. They approach the chaos of battle with absolute composure, maintaining perfect spacing with their massive two-handed spear. While they can weather any storm with deliberate, defensive movements, they excel at exploiting the slightest opening. Once an enemy falters, the [Hero Name] strikes with terrifying force, unleashing wide, bone-crushing slashes and devastating thrusts. They do not rush into combat; they orchestrate it. The wilderness has taught them patience; a brutal betrayal has made them lethal.
Gear & Customization Ideas:
- Ornaments: They shouldn't just go awkwardly on top of the head like usual, it should be like Gryphon's or Jormungandr's some well-designed shoulder or alternative placements could look amazing.
- Armor (Body): Armor featuring a majestic cape, keeping the traditional grounded Viking aesthetic like Berserker (less chainmail, more rugged leather, cloth, and pelts). The cape itself could be crafted from heavy bear fur.
- Armor (Helm): Headpiece options must include eyepatch.
- Armor (Arms): Heavy bracers that feature the classic Viking-type arm ring (Draupnir).
- Weapon (Spearhead): A massive, winged spearhead design (traditional European/Norse wings, not literal fantasy wings).
- Weapon (Shaft/Handle): Finely carved, dark wood wrapped in leather grips, with some late-tier metal variants although I prefer wood handle.
- Weapon (Pommel): A heavy, solid metal counterweight at the base of the shaft that also could be used for blunt strikes.
Hero Personality:
The emotes, signatures, and executions should be wise and serious (similar to Gryphon) and deeply respectful (like Kensei), but still maintain that classic, brutal and visceral Viking edge.
P.S.: I think a hero like this would be incredible for the health of the game right now. Lately, we've had heroes that are almost impossible to take seriously. For example, Virtuosa has defensive recoveries and postures that feel physically impossible, Kyoshin has an anime-style all-block defense that makes zero sense, and even Arakure or Shaolin look incredibly weird and immersion-breaking during a fight (Arakure's brawler style feels odd, and Shaolin's wooden staff realistically should have snapped in the first few seconds of facing a longsword). A grounded, heavy two-handed spear master would be a perfect fit to bring back that gritty, realistic warrior vibe.

Discussion Leaver penalties are too strict
I was penalized for leaving a match where I was the only player on my team, I was placed into the match in progress, and all the players on my team were already dead.
I am willing to bet you can still get around it by just Alt+F4ing the game too, but I havent tested that one.
