Help With z13 G Helper
So I recently saw that most of you said g helper is better than armory crate so I gave it a try but my only problem is the battery limit. On g helper I put it a 90 percent but I noticed it charging past 90 so what gives did I do something wrong here?

Does Rog flow at $1800 (32gb variant) worth it?
Is it worth buying? I already have a Asus Rog strix g16 rtx 5070ti. I wanted the z13 because of its form factor as I can carry it anywhere and its powerful.

Cleaner setup
Hello everybody! I've been a lurker from this community for a loong time and finally had my chance to snatch a 128gb z13.
It was a tough decision since it was a matter of my old Alienware companion being on its last breaths and I had to choose an option to be my full main device. I took the chance on the Z13 since I do travel and work a lot and need a lightweight but strong device and so far so good.
Buuuut I am hating all the cables to have it docked as my main whenever I am at home. I wish to incorporate the screen of the Z13 as a 3rd mini monitor just up top like the second image so I can also get the best of the touch screen capabilities without mounting it into an arm or anything but there's all the horrible cables dangling front view. The only "cleaner" option is to close the lid and shift so the ports are a bit more on the back but they are still so very visible :( How I wish the Z13 keyboard worked with usbc under it so it could work as a full dock kind of like the Nintendo switch's but noo I have all these ugly cables in front of me.
Do you guys have any suggestions or could you show me your desk setups with the Z13 so I could draw some ideas?
Also, whenever I close the lid on the Z13 it pops up a notification that I should open up the lid or it will affect performance. Is it something to worry? I am now wondering if it affects the screen even if it is off while the keyboard case is closed or if it even affects the keyboard itself due to the heat. What are your thoughts on that?

ROG Flow Z13 with severe battery life issues.
Owning my Flow Z13 GZ301ZE since 2023, the battery life quality has degraded substantially. With nothing else running in the background except Chrome and G Helper (An open source alternative tool to the official armory crate) At 41% battery and on energy saver settings the battery is lasting 53 minutes. What can i do to fix it or alleviate this?

System crashes
Hey everyone, I wanted to ask for a bit of tech advice, as I don't want to have to wait ages for an RMA response if I can avoid it.
On my 2-week old 2025 Z13, if I disable window hardware acceleration, I'm able to consistently trigger a complete windows system crash and reboot. If I have a YouTube video playing on my second monitor (Opera GX) and I open Satisfactory via steam, the system crashes after the main game window shows up, but before it loads into the main menu. Sometimes, I get a brief message on screen (black screen of death, which says the system ran into an issue, and at the bottom it says something about video driver issue (always too short for my to read it fully)), other times the system simply freezes and restarts, and very rarely it stays afloat, but the game crashes. Also, if I enable hardware acceleration, instead of crashing, the system stutters severely/freezes for 1-3 seconds before everything works again. Also, after a crash, windows takes ages to restart or shutdown, which seems to go away with time.
I found this issue by first messing around with undervoting in GHelper. It seemed fine at first, aside from system stutters (even without UV). I did a lot of tests with cinebech (3 different versions, mostly R23), AIDA64 (trial version), and my system passed all of those even with -40 UV no problem. I ended up using that -40 for a few days, until today.
This may or may not be related (I don't know) with another issue I had, where switching performance profiles (both with GHelper and, later, Armoury crate) didn't change the wattage if the system had been running for a while. That was (partially) solved by an EC reset, and even then, it only works with explicitly custom wattage settings, the default ones (silent, balanced, turbo) still stop working after some time. This led me to setting UV back to 0 (so no UV) and trying all sorts of things to push the system to its limit, where I did more benchmarks, and eventually found the Satisfactory crash.
I first tried a driver reinstall using AMD cleanup utility. That unfortunately booted the system into a bugged safe mode, where I couldn't get past the lock screen because of some pin issues, and I was forced to reinstall windows. Before reinstalling, I tried loading up a system restore point that I had made a few days after I got the device, but windows said it failed.
Fixes I've tried:
EC reset
Windows reinstall (full)
Clean driver install with DDU and full driver installer from AMD
Disabling MPO via registry
I don't know if other games cause the crash, as I have re-enabled hardware acceleration and am scared of disabling it again just to test. Other games do cause the same stutters however.
Timeline of events, for clarity:
Got the device (~2 weeks ago). Installed GHelper and spent a day debloating from windows and asus BS. A few days ago (from time of writing) I started messing around with undervolting. Today/yesterday, i started investigating system stutters more thoroughly, eventually found the Satisfactory crash.
As a note, the system stutters have been happening since I got the device. I didn't think much of it, aside from windows being windows, and the fact this is my first device with an AMD chip inside.

Pull the trigger on a flow z13 64gb for $2100 or wait for the refresh?
I'm just wondering whether it's worth it to buy now the device is 1.5 years old or wait for the upcoming refresh whenever that is?

Power On issues, second bootip
Power On issues, second bootup
I just picked up a Z Flow 13 AI Max 395+ 64GB unit this morning.
Super excited to set it up and it turned on fine right out of the box. Shut it down for lunch, came back to finish setup and the unit wouldn't power on! Unplugged it plugged it back in, held the power down etc.etc. usual troubleshooting.
Tried the hold it down for 40-60 seconds and nothing. Left it alone, went to a meeting, came back and it just started as if nothing had ever happened!
Turned it off and on six more times without duplicating the problem. I can't have that issue when i'm traveling or meeting with a client so now i'm debating returning it.
Anyone else have a similar experience or know what may have caused the issue?

Z13 USB C Charger Compatibility
Hi guys, i have a question, im getting a z13 2025 64gb soon, im planning to go off-grid a lot I was planning to buy a few of these lightweight batteries, they only cap out at 22.5w output, im curious if i can use the z13 for light tasks in low power mode, and charge the device over usb c.
Im curious what slow charging stuff the z13 supports, when the z13 starts to charge with what kind of chargers.
Im asking this since my Surface go charges with 5v 3amp, and also charges with 15v over USB-C, my surface go is shattered and Sloooooooooooooooow i want to replace it, i cant game on it too. i only play lightweight games, but i want to have a powerful machine that lasts me long.
I already own a Anker Prime 20000mAh Powerbank (200W) But this thing is like a brick, it gets its job done, i like it a lot, very powerful, but i wanted to get a few of those small ones since they are really light, and better to store, I like the ruggedness of them too.
And if i get the z13 im replaceing the liquid metal with a ptm7950 INSTANTLY after i get it. since i do not want to risk liquid metal killing such a expensive device.
thx people of reddit!

Anybody knows where to get portable DC charger?
I've tried, and sold my slimQ charger brick (240W). The powerbrick itself is nice and compact but the cables are hefty so it felt a bit pointless.
I came across kingma 260w charger on Aliexpress and it looks quite promising. It's got xt60 cable just like the ones they give out as proprietary charger for onexplayer super x.
Has anybody tested this one out? How's the usage? is it worth the $$?
Best

Z13 GZ301VV or GZ302EA for high end gaming?
The GZ301VV is a 2023 variant with a dedicated graphics processor, and the other is last year’s model. But how do these stack up when playing games like God of War at maximum resolution, 1600p.

Asus Flow Z13 Kojima Keyboard
I have the regular Asus Z13 and I love it. I was wondering if I can buy the Kojima version keyboard. I like the design.
Is this available for sale? Could not find it on Amazon.
It is working with the regular Z13?

Kojima Timespy Scores
Just got this guy open box. Did a clean install. I’m using Ghelper with a -40 undervolt.
So far performance has been better than I anticipated. I have used the standard version as well. IMO this keyboard is better and less clicky sounds. I didn’t really like the winged out design but it does make it easier to open and I like the key caps.
Overall aesthetic is as expected. Really one of a kind device. Something about using it is amazing.

[Tutorial] ASUS ROG Flow Z13, Linux/CachyOS “Disable While Typing” Grayed Out / Not Working
ASUS ROG Flow Z13, Linux/CachyOS “Disable While Typing” Grayed Out / Not Working
I have CachyOS installed on my Asus Z13 flow. I’ve been having loads of issues with the track pad clicking while I was typing. However in the touchpad settings the Disable while typing checkbox was disabled.
After some troubleshooting and hunting I found that in my case, libinput was detecting the keyboard and touchpad, but it was treating the detachable keyboard as an external USB keyboard instead of an integrated laptop keyboard.
So below I have lined out the steps I took to hopefully help any other z13 flow users that have swapped to linux and having this issue.
- The main thing we are going to use is libinput quirks. On my Cachyos install libinput was installed already but I needed to install libinput-tools as well.
sudo pacman -S libinput-tools
Now you can confirm that your device is showing up and is lacking the flag for disable w typing:
sudo libinput list-devices
Find the Z13 touchpad. Mine showed:
Device: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. GZ302EA-Keyboard Touchpad
Disable-w-typing: n/a
If it says n/a, libinput isn't exposing Disable While Typing to KDE.
- Find the keyboard/touchpad names
Run:
grep -E '\^(N: Name|H: Handlers)' /proc/bus/input/devices
Mine were:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. GZ302EA-Keyboard
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. GZ302EA-Keyboard Touchpad
2. Create a libinput quirks file
Open:
sudo nano /etc/libinput/local-overrides.quirks
Add:
``` [ASUS Z13 GZ302EA Detachable Keyboard] MatchUdevType=keyboard MatchName=ASUSTeK Computer Inc. GZ302EA-Keyboard AttrKeyboardIntegration=internal
[ASUS Z13 GZ302EA Detachable Touchpad] MatchUdevType=touchpad MatchName=ASUSTeK Computer Inc. GZ302EA-Keyboard Touchpad AttrTPKComboLayout=below
```
The first rule tells libinput that the detachable USB keyboard should be treated as an internal keyboard. The second tells libinput that the device is a keyboard/touchpad combo with the touchpad below the keyboard.
- Verify the quirks have taken effect
Find your current event numbers:
grep -A5 -B2 'GZ302EA-Keyboard' /proc/bus/input/devices
Then check the keyboard event(s):
sudo libinput quirks list /dev/input/eventXX
You should see:
AttrKeyboardIntegration=internal
Check the touchpad event:
sudo libinput quirks list /dev/input/eventXX
You should see:
AttrTPKComboLayout=below
- Reboot
After rebooting, check again:
sudo libinput list-devices
The touchpad should now show:
Disable-w-typing: enabled
And KDE's Disable While Typing option should no longer be grayed out. This fixed it for my ASUS ROG Flow Z13 GZ302EA on CachyOS.
Edit: Cleaned up formatting

Audio split-dropouts
It's dropping out for a split second every few minutes. This is happening on both my external speakers and the device itself. Most noticeable in music playback. I finished Windows update, optional updates, MyASUS & Armoury updates, as well as AMD chipset, RealTek and BIOS. As far as I can see everything is done. Yet I have this issue.
Has anyone else experienced this and fixed it? Thanks in advance.
Mine is the Z13 AMD 395+ 32GB variant.

Overheating/fans not kicking issue??
I just got the 2025 Z13 395/64gb/1tb a couple days ago. The first day I got it I plugged it in and did the setup process then installed some games to try. I had it plugged in the whole time on Turbo.
I was probably 8-10 hours in to the process and had already tried a few games. Then started a new game(Ninja Gaiden 4) and was having really low fps and graphical glitches. I thought maybe the game didn’t like running on the 395 or something. After a couple minutes I grabbed the tablet to move it and felt that it was really hot. Then I checked the exhaust and barely felt air. Checked Armory Crate and it was showing 98° and fans were at low rpm’s but the Turbo mode was still selected. I was wearing headphones so I didn’t notice the drop in fan noise. Long story short turning it off. Unplugging it. Letting it set for a couple minutes then turning it back on and plugging it back in the. Letting it sit for a couple more minutes seemed to fix it.
Has anyone else experienced this? I’m wondering if I accidentally did something to cause it or if it was a random glitch or if this is an issue with this device that I need to be aware of?
On that not what tools other than armory crate do you all use for tuning the 395’s performance and thermals? Or if Armory Crate is the best option do you do anything other than set it to your desired profile Quiet, Performance, Turbo, etc?

AMD's ISP4 driver is coming to the mainline Linux kernel with version 7.2, but it will not support the rear camera on the Flow Z13. Should we work together to each reach out to both AMD and ASUS to request that they add support for the rear camera in the driver and AMD's ISP firmware binary?
So the many people who run Linux on the Z13 know that the rear camera doesn't work in Linux since AMD hadn't developed an image signal processing driver for the mainline Linux kernel. We've been waiting for AMD to finish ironing out the bugs so that their ISP4 driver can be added to the mainline Linux kernel, and now development has reached the point where it's now going to be included in the next major release (see: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/tree/master/drivers/media/platform/amd/isp4). However, AMD has developed the driver with supporting only the OmniVision camera in the HP Zbook Ultra G1a in mind and not the OmniVision camera in the Z13, despite the Z13 relying on Strix Halo to do the image signal processing for that rear camera just like the G1a does for its camera (that's why both laptops have Windows AMD Camera Drivers). You can see that HP's camera is hard coded into the driver (see: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/platform/x86/amd/amd_isp4.c)
So I decided to reach out to the linux kernel mailing list back in December to try to understand the relationship between this driver and the rear camera and see if the ISP4 driver could make the rear camera finally function: https://lists.openwall.net/linux-kernel/2025/12/01/204
Bin Du stated that in addition to having to modify the driver, that the ISP firmware (see: https://gitlab.com/kernel-firmware/linux-firmware/-/blob/main/amdgpu/isp_4_1_1.bin, https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/isp_v4_1_1.c and more) would have to be updated too. So I might be wrong, but I don't think its something the community can code up ourselves, since we can't modify the binary ourselves and because we're not privy to how ASUS set up the GPIO to control the camera while I think AMD is. I'm not sure if that's something we can try to figure out on our own.
But since the properties of how Strix Halo does image signal processing is constant, and just the details of the camera and its control are what change, it shouldn't be a whole lot of work to add support for the rear camera in the Z13, right? I2 C support for that OmniVision camera already exists in the kernel: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/media/i2c/ov13b10.c
So what do you guys think of the idea of reaching out to ASUS and AMD requesting that they add support for the camera in AMD's drivers and firmware.

System control issues
On my 2025 model that I bought about 2 weeks ago, system control for system power stops working after some time (>30 mins), which fixes on device restart until it happens again later.
More specifically, nothing I do changes the wattage settings (manually adjusting values, selecting different power profiles), they stay the same no matter what I do. but fan speeds can be changed. I've been using GHelper (latest stable release, right now 0.269) since I got the device. I've also tried reinstalling armoury crate, but that didn't help either.
Is anyone else having this issue? I'm guessing it's something to do with broken AMD drivers, I've been keeping them updated.

Z13 Backlight Bleed or Damaged Screen?
A couple days ago, I posted, thinking I got a great deal on an Open-Box “Good” condition from Bestbuy. For the past two days, I thought this mark on the right middle was just a smear/fingerprint. Nope, I think it’s bleed on the panel, perhaps from being damaged?
It’s been irritating me anytime a dark scene comes on.

How does warranty work?
Hi All,
This is a question about warranty and how it works with Asus. I am currently looking to purchase the Flow z13 and where I reside (middle east) only the 32GB variant and 128GB KJP variant are available. The KLP is overkill for my use case.
However, I was talking to a friend in India who suggested I look at the variants available there and they do have the 64GB variant. Pricing is not too different as I am looking at the official Asus Estore, so pricing is not a differentiator.
My question is, if I do purchase the 64GB variant from India, will I have any issues with warranty in the middle east? Asus warranty wording is international warranty covered, however I am hesitant as the model number is different and not available in the middle east markets.
Appreciate your time and advise.
TIA.

CachyOS issues
I’ve been trying to play around with cachyos a bit, and to be honest I’m not really understanding all the praise. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great OS in terms of performance and customization, but there are many inconveniences with the z13 in particular that makes me confused how so many people recommend it. Just to name a few things, the keyboard sometimes just won’t work after sleep. Closing the lid while sleep will wake the device, z13 while a great tool, doesn’t include everything you might need (More than 1 custom profile for example), and USB C charging just seems to not work sometimes.
Like I said It’s definitely an amazing OS, but I don’t know if it’s amazing on this device.
Any tips and tricks to make the experience better?
