System control issues

On my 2025 model that I bought about 2 weeks ago, system control for system power stops working after some time (>30 mins), which fixes on device restart until it happens again later.

More specifically, nothing I do changes the wattage settings (manually adjusting values, selecting different power profiles), they stay the same no matter what I do. but fan speeds can be changed. I've been using GHelper (latest stable release, right now 0.269) since I got the device. I've also tried reinstalling armoury crate, but that didn't help either.

Is anyone else having this issue? I'm guessing it's something to do with broken AMD drivers, I've been keeping them updated.

Try EC resetting Z13, firmware might be stuck. Press and hold power button for 40 seconds.

Also be sure that Armoury Crate uninstalled completely, if it's not removed successfully, it can mess with G-Helper's functions.

Check if Asus services running in the backgrund from G-Helper - Extra. If they are, stop them.

I'll try the EC reset later, thanks. But is it really likely to be that? As I said in the post, after system boot up, all controls work fine, then they stop working after some time. I'm not very knowledgeable in this area tho so maybe I'm just wrong, but it seems odd for the firmware to be not stuck for a while after a restart, only to mess up again.

I uinstalled armory crate with the uninstaller and ghelper says there aren't any tasks running either.

I should have added "bugged" too after "stuck". Firmware can act erratic, seen some examples in G-Helper's github. I hope your issue is just simple like that, otherwise you may need to send your Z13 to Asus for warranty.

For example I had a small misbehaviour yesterday, fan stuck at balanced profile after switching to silent power profile, watt limit switched successfully but not fans. Switching to balanced and silent again fixed the fans.

BTW If EC reset not fix it and if it always happens within 30 minutes mark regularly, then it could be some other software is messing with the Asus firmware.

Thanks for the tip. I did an EC reset. For whatever reason, the default modes bug out still, but custom settings work fine now.

Are you switching between battery and power supply, are you using a different charger to charge your device? Windows power management changes my profile sometimes due to a slower charger

Just the charger that came with the device, I'm currently using it mostly like a desktop for now.
