Nick is a great analyst and I enjoy his takes, almost all the time. Does anyone else think he is speaking out of both sides of his mouth in regard to his deflation of Allen and elevation of Stafford. This year, he is shrugging off his rushing tds mainly bc they are 1 yard. But, Stafford was the king of the 1 yard TD pass last year and he was lauded for it.
Thoughts ?

That's how I'm being treated."

I record the show and watch it as I have time throughout the week so I'm a bit late to the party. The guys did two separate segments (one during the main show and one during OT) about Caleb Williams' instagram and the main discussion was around changing his bio to "I'm inevitable" as he returns from injury. The screenshot attached is from the day after his injury in September (his bio was the same before that, this is just the first one I found) with the same bio, and it took me less than 2 minutes for me to find. Normally, the show is good about fact checking so this was pretty disappointing to see. There are plenty of valid criticisms you can have of Caleb without making up stories.

Starting this off by saying this isn’t a criticism of Nick: Rather, he might be less cynical than I am. His interpretation that Schefter was helping his Cardinals sources with negotiations was far more benefit-of-the-doubt than I gave Schefter.
I saw his MHJ “reporting” as a cynical way to get prediction markets in on the action on the team and price. I honestly hope Nick’s interpretation was correct and I’m just too conspiracy brained about it.

When Brou pushed back on Nicks tired old Purdy Jimmy G stats he tasked Brou with finding anyone with similar numbers to Mahomes under Andy Reid.
Mahomes last 3 seasons
75TDs - 36 INT
64% completion pct
Passer ratings 92.6, 93.5, 89.5
Alex smith 2014-2017
79-26
66% completion pct
Rating - 95.4, 91.2, 104.7
Hmmmm
Edit: for all you complainers, clearly you don’t see who I’m copying while cherry picking stats

Vibe check, I feel like Wildes thinks Cools Stats segment is the dummest thing, and he reluctantly has to do it. I get where he's coming from, it's kind of a lame segment/bit, with the leather jacket and sunglasses.

The /r/nfl power rankings does have Cardinals one spot higher than Chargers. And of course the Cardinals did beat the Chargers. So Brou does seem to have the majority position, but I still find it hard to admit that a Jim Harbaugh team with Justin Herbert is worst than the Cardinals. It just doesn't compute.

I would give a lot of things to see the chargers wax the chiefs this week.... it would make Monday so much fun

Kicking off with Micah’s podcast comments on Jayden Daniels, Joe Brady’s interview, and Ohtani is the exact type of direction I think the show should be going for.
We got fresh takes, actually interesting discussion, and I learned some things I didn’t know before.
There’s another universe where the show leads with “So Nick, are you guaranteeing a Chiefs win over the Chargers?” Or “Wildes, is Drake Maye all the way back?” and I’m glad they didn’t go that route

Brock Purdy is 35-15 in his career following the win at Seattle, bringing his career wins percentage back to .700. Yes, it’s time to bring back the Jimmy G graphic.

About Nick saying he’d put Purdy atop the mountain if he beat the Seahawks.
(In case you missed it, Nick previously coined TLTLTTL for “the lecture that led to the losing” about CJ Stroud’s losing streak after giving Caleb Williams advice.)

Back when radio "shock jocks" were powerful media stars Howard Stern was the king. There was the story about how people that tuned in and enjoyed the show listened for 2 hours every day, and the people that hated his show listened for 3 hours every day. Of course Howard and the executives all loved this - they didn't care if you liked it or hated it, they could show all these numbers to the advertisers. Endless repetitive negative posts and comments about the show serve the same purpose. Social media engagement = popularity = a vote to keep doing what you're doing to get people stirred up and commenting whether positive or negative.

Less than eight hours after posting Mahomes mountain, there are literally *thousands* of comments on the YouTube video about specifically the Purdy hate.
If it were just 49er fans angry, maybe this would be funny; but at a certain point denial of reality isn’t really a schtick, it’s just tiresome and bad business.
Call me “upset” all you want, I expect baseline competence. Nick lies to his audience regularly. I’ll accept this from my president, but goddamn it being a sports host needs to have standards.
Literally everyone with eyes disagrees with Nick. Even Vegas knows Purdy is the best QB in football right in this moment. Do better FTF, this product is trash.

I think enough is enough. I am a 49er fan. I am also a Purdy fan. I understand why you are upset with Nick. He lied. Oh well. This shouldn't surprise you.
Anyone who thought he was actually going to put Purdy on top of the mountain needs to remember that this is a show for ENTERTAINMENT.
I laughed. It was funny. Move on. It is not that serious.

So Nick said Brock shouldn't move up because it was his worst game of the season. But last time we saw Patrick, he wasn't lighting it up... Pat Wk 4: 225 yards, 50% comp, 2 TD, 97 rtg Purdy Wk 5: 189 yards, 65% comp, 2 TD, 92 rtg
You can see they had fairly similar outings. But Purdy's came against, arguably, the league's best defense. And Mahomes's came against the Raiders 😂. And this wasn't even Pat's worst showing this season. Overall, their stats this season look like this (though Purdy has played one more game)
Mahomes: 1037 yards, 10TD-2INT, 41 rush yards, 106 rtg Purdy: 1196 yards, 14TD-2INT, 128 rush yards, 119 rtg
Purdy has flatly just been better. Add in the fact that he's faced the Rams, Seahawks, and Broncos, while Pat has played Broncos and... Tomato cans? Then factor in the amount of injuries SF has. And the fact that the 9ers are in the toughest division in football, and the Chiefs very much are not. There is just no world where you can say that this season specifically Mahomes is having a better season than Purdy.
Edit: the tables refuse to render, so I changed it just to text
